Feathers
As adult Nino sorted through his stuff, he couldn't help but get a.... Get a tingle. He didn't know what this feeling was, but he suddenly had the urge to scold his child. I mean, what could Molly possibly-
"Hey, adult me?"
He turned, the smile on his fave dropping into a scowl the moment he saw the girl next to him and Luka.
"Hey, dad...." Molly waved, looking down.
Ah.
"MOLLY SUMMERS LAHIFFE!" Adult Nino yelled.
She huffed, saying "What, am I not allowed to be worried about you either?"
Luka and Nino stood off to the side. Luka leaned close to him, whispering something.
"Their melodies are so.... Out of sync." Luka mumbled.
"You're not supposed to be here!"
"I was worried that you got hurt! Now imagine my fucking surprise when I find out we're twenty years in the past!"
Nino and Luka stepped back, watching them argue.
"I don't need you to watch over my shoulder! So what if I came with you, not like it was the worst judgement call...."
"Oh, wait," Adult Nino paused dramatically, before saying "I'm the fucking adult here!"
"Oh really?! Because to me you're looking a lot like a child-"
"THAT IS ENOUGH!"
"FUCK OFF!"
A loud smack rang through the air, Luka and Nino visibly tensing. Adult Nino froze, Molly bringing a hand to her cheek.
"Ohhh..... Fuck. Molly, I didn't mean to-"
"SHELL ON!"
Her suit covered her, the girl running off. She threw her shield down, the thing morphing into a hover board as she hopped into it, running off.
".... Wow. You're an asshole in the future." Luka stated.
Nino threw his hands up, shouting "What the fuck, me?!"
Adult Nino groaned, saying "I lost my cool.... Me and Molly have just been.... Arguing a lot recently."
"You still-"
The three were interrupted by a chill going up their spines, a feminine voice saying "Why is it that every time you two argue,"
The woman walked out of the shadows, Nino's face turning red at the sight of a grown up Alya. The woman had a similar hairstyle to the current one, only in long and flowing braids. She currently wore her Lady Mania outfit, the claws of the suit being out currently.
"I always find you." She finished, scowling.
"Alya, my love, my wonderful sunshine!" Adult Nino said, trying not to get sliced by said claws.
"Nino! Slapping her?! Are you out of your mind?!" Alya hissed. "Out of everyone, you should know you don't mess with a hormonal teenage girl!"
Nino then took that opportunity to blurt out "We messed with you so...."
She snapped her gaze to him, Luka shuddering at the glare she gave.
"Wow. I keep forgetting how annoying you were in your youth. Cute, but annoying."
"HEY!" Both of them exclaimed in offense.
"Excuse me," Luka said. "Why don't you send Nino- um, the young one, to go and get her. I have a feeling that she won't react well to seeing her parents right now...."
Alya smiled, saying "And that's why you were in charge of finding a venue for our wedding, Luka. You always have the right ideas, unlike a certain idiot pigeon."
"What is it with everyone calling us a pigeon?!" Nino questioned. "Spread my feathers, Duusu!"
Once the younger was gone, Luka finally popped out the question he'd been dying to ask.
"What happened between you two?"
Nino sighed.
*Flashback....*
Nino growled slightly, Alya patting his head.
"Honey, relax."
"Alya, Molly's been sneaking out, skipping classes, and for fucks sake- she ditched me in the middle of our Furor training!" He responded.
"I'm sure that Molly's just going through a rebellious phase.... You weren't exactly the perfect image of a teenager yourself."
He rose an eyebrow, saying "I'm sorry, but who was the one who cut herself and had suicidal thoughts?"
Alya coughed to hide her embarrassed laughter. A second later, they heard Molly's room door open, the girl walking downstairs in a violet colored hoodie and black jeans. Nino flicked on a light switch, making her freeze in her tracks.
"Dad! Hey!" She quickly said. "I was just um.... Going out for a walk?"
Alya snickered, this scene giving her nostalgia from their younger years.
Nino crossed his arms, saying "You were about to sneak out, weren't you?"
She looked away, Alya sighing.
"Sweetheart, come on. What's so important for you to be sneaking out? Is it for a boy?" Alya questioned.
Molly made a disgusted expression, saying "Ew, no. Not in a million years. It'll be a cold day in hell before I sneak out to meet with a boy-"
Then, her phone rang. She glanced down at the number, and her expression was all that Nino needed to see.
"Speaker." He commanded.
She flinched at his tone, playing the phone on the coffee table, sitting across from her parents. She pushed the answer button bracing herself.
"Hey, pretty bird!" A voice came out.
Alya was amused. Nino was not. Because he knew that voice.
"Hey, Viola." Molly responded.
"We still on for tonight? I borrowed a couple movies from Auntie Rose, figured we could watch them!"
Molly blushed slightly, before saying "That sounds great. But um.... I don't think that I'll be coming tonight.... Or anywhere for maybe a week?"
Nino snatched the phone, saying "Hi little Couffaine! What exactly were you and my little girl going to be doing tonight?"
Molly could hear an audible thud in the background, grimacing in sympathy at the curse that followed.
"M- Mr. Lahiffe! What a pleasant surprise! Did I ever tell you how much you remind me of this song I heard-"
"You're stalling, Couffaine." He up cut her off. "What was Molly sneaking out to do tonight. And it better not involve a boy, or I'm positive that your mother will kill you."
"What?! No, never! No boys!"
"Then why the hell were you-"
He couldn't finish as the call ended. He glanced at Molly. He glared.
".... Did you just hang up?"
"No?"
He scowled, Alya muttering something under her breath.
"Honey, why not just tell us the truth? If it's something potentially dangerous, it would only be right for us to know!" Alya said calmly.
"Says the woman who was a bounty hunter before I was born...." Molly mumbled under her breath.
Alya's eye twitched. Nino stepped in between the two.
"You're grounded." He stated.
"WHAT?!"
"You heard me. You're grounded. Three weeks." Nino hissed out.
"This is so unfair!" Molly complained. "You guys didn't get grounded for sneaking out!"
"Well your father and I's parents weren't there to stop us." Alya responded.
And, Molly being both of their child, she then retorted with something that probably made things worse-
"Tch. Lucky...."
She quickly realized her mistake when the room felt as though it had dropped by several degrees. She looked away, knowing that she wouldn't be able to meet her parents eyes at the moment.
"Correction, now you're grounded for THREE MONTHS!" Nino ground out.
"Ugh, why can't you guys just trust me?!"
"You wanna talk about trust?!" Alya retorted. "Trust that you've just lost all of your miraculous privileges!"
*Present....*
"In hindsight, that was probably a mistake...." Alya stated.
The raised eyebrow Luka gave her said so many things. That was when Nino returned.
"So, hey, good news and bad news! Good news, I found your daughter! Bad news?"
The two adults paled when he said the next words.
"She ditched her miraculous and Wayzz is losing his mind. Which means your daughter is currently alone in Paris without any protection.... And it's turning night."
