Ezio vs Sly (Assassin's Creed vs Sly Cooper)

When it comes to quests, the quest to avenge one's family is more than common. The quest for vengeance is sure to change a man in numerous different ways. For these two, their revenge quests turned them into masters of sneaking and silent kills. Convenient, because for them, stealth and assassination is the family business.

****(Ezio)****

Full Name: Ezio Auditore Da Firenze

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Occupation: Professional Assassin

Backstory: Born to the Auditore family in Firenze Italy, Ezio Auditore lived a fairly normal life in his youth. That is, until the day his father and brothers were framed and executed for crimes they didn't commit by an old enemy of Ezio’s family, the Templars. See, soon after their deaths, Ezio learned that his father, and other members of his family were members of a Creed of Assassins. So, to avenge his family and defeat the Templars, Ezio began his training to become an Assassin.

Fighting Styles: As an assassin, Ezio is a master of stealth. He can blend into large crowds with ease and sneak behind an enemy before stabbing them in the throat. But in case of the unlikely event he's caught, he was trained in combat by his uncle Mario, and is excellent in numerous fighting styles. Hand to hand combat, sword fighting, knife throwing, and more.

Equipment and Abilities: Ezio is armed to the teeth with numerous weapons and tools for fighting. Most notably is the weapon he inherited from his father, the iconic Hidden Blade, a secret blade in the wrist which pops out for a surprise stab. He can use this to inject poison in his opponent, and he has a second hooked hidden blade on his other arm. He also has an additional mechanism which acts as a hidden gun. And we haven't even started on his weaponry. He's got swords, a crossbow, throwing knives, daggers, and an assortment of bombs to distract or hurt enemies. As if that wasn't enough, Ezio also has a superhuman trait he'd inherited from his ancestors, a sixth sense known as Eagle Vision. With Eagle Vision, Ezio can see whether a person is an enemy or an ally, and he can see and track his target, even if they're hiding in an enormous crowd.

Strength: Unfortunately his physical strength isn't all that impressive, though he has momentarily lifted up a carriage slightly.

Speed: Ezio was once able to avoid semi automatic cannon fire.

Toughness: Ezio has taken stabs to the gut and once tanked an arrow in the shoulder, and walked it off with relative ease.

Feats: Ever since beginning his career, Ezio's more than earned his reputation as one of the Creed’s finest assassins. He's killed dozens of guards, once took on an entire army on his own, defeated a Templar Profit juiced up with god like magic powers, and eventually killed every person responsible for his family's deaths. He's even held his ground against Soul Calibur characters.

Weaknesses: He's certainly impressive, but Ezio is still only human. He's hurt by blades and bullets like any other mortal man, and he can be pretty reckless when picking a fight. Even so, if you underestimate Ezio, it's sure to be your final mistake.

****(Sly)****

Full Name: Sly Cooper

Gender: Male

Species: Anthropomorphic Raccoon

Occupation: Master Thief

Backstory: Born as the next in line of the infamous Cooper family, Sly Cooper was destined for greatness pretty much since the beginning. See, Sly comes from a long line of master thieves who kept their secrets of sneaking and stealing in an ancient book, the Thievious Raccoonus. But on the night Sly was supposed to inherit the book, five visitors came unannounced to their door. Before the end of that night, Sly’s family was murdered by an ancient enemy of the Cooper clan, Clockwerk, who just so happens to be a giant immortal robot owl… nothing unusual… anyway, Sly was left at an orphanage with almost nothing to his name. But with the aid of his childhood friends, Bentley and Murray, Sly formed a gang and set out to become a master thief like his ancestors before him and avenge his family by killing Clockwerk.

Fighting Style: Sly's a master of stealth, able to avoid enemy sight with ease. Even if he's spotted, he's ready for a fight. His main fighting style is self taught, and is similar to sword fighting. He relies on his swiftness and agility in a fight, preferring to outmaneuver an opponent and exploit any weaknesses he can find.

Equipment and Abilities: Thanks to the Thievious Raccoonus and his friend Bentley, Sly has numerous gadgets and abilities to help him in a fight. His main weapon of choice is the Cane he inherited from his father. While it may not look like much, it is incredibly deadly and versatile. Aside from being his main/only hitting weapon, he can pick pockets with it, use it to swing from hooks, or even channel electricity through it to enhance his attacks. Aside from the Cane, Sly also carries smoke bombs for quick getaways, he carries cardboard stand ins of himself to distract guards, and his hat doubles as a bomb. He's also got an arsenal of special abilities thanks to the Thievious Raccoonus. His Knockout Dive is a lunging attack that stuns even the toughest guards, the stealth slam is a sneak attack that instantly takes down the victim (though the enemy would have to be stunned or snuck up on first), and the Raccoon Roll lets Sly curl up into a ball and shield himself in electricity. Sly can also turn invisible, walk on lasers, and perhaps his greatest ability is Thief Time, where he slows down time itself to a near halt, giving him plenty of time to overwhelm an opponent.

Strength: Despite being one of the physically weakest members of his team, Sly is strong enough to knock large guards over his head with a single hit, even if they're as big and heavy as Rhinos.

Speed: Sly has dodged rapid fire voodoo blasts and can even run in circles so fast he makes a hole in the ground.

Toughness: Sly once took a blast so strong, it sent him flying well over a dozen feet into the air and the only thing he got from it was a mild case of fake amnesia.

Feats: Sly has brought down numerous thugs and crime lords. With some help from his team, he's taken down the Fiendish Five and the Klaww Gang, destroyed a gargantuan mech, beat up a freaking dragon, and even avenged his family by killing Clockwerk... twice. And when he was kidnapped by aliens, he held his own against both Ratchet and Jak at the same time.

Weaknesses: He's impressive, but he's hardly perfect. He relies on help from his friends a lot of the time, his cane is his main and only way to protect himself, and he… can't swim. But despite this, Sly is easily the best of his clan.

****(The Match)****

It was a cold night, the moon shining over a Templar fortress. Sly quickly snuck in, easily evading and taking down any guards unlucky enough to get in the way. He twirled his cane as he entered a treasure room. At the center was an ancient artifact, a Piece of Eden. As he began to approach the artifact, he heard guards screaming from the other side of the room.

“I don't know who, or what you are…” Ezio Auditore began, wiping fresh blood off his sword as he entered, “But you're no Templar. Leave, and I will spare your life.”

“Yeah, sorry,” Sly began, “But I'm not leaving without that treasure.”

“Then…” Ezio pointed his sword at Sly, “You are not leaving at all.”

FIGHT!!!

Sly ran up and swung his cane. Ezio blocked and aimed a counter, but Sly quickly dodged and knocked Ezio back. Ezio pulled out his crossbow and fired a few arrows. Sly quickly dodged each and aimed a swipe of his cane. Ezio blocked, then punched Sly across the face. As Sly stumbled back, Ezio slashed him and knocked him back. Sly groaned as his hat fell off.

“What a disappointment.” Ezio taunted, twirling his sword as he walked up.

“Not done yet.” Sly smirked, tapping his cane on the ground. His hat exploded right next to Ezio, knocking him back with a groan. Sly ran up, electricity sparking off his cane as he landed a few hits. Ezio whipped out his hidden blades and and aimed a stab. Sly dodged and hit Ezio with his cane. Ezio aimed another stab and Sly dodged again with a backflip. Sly then threw down a smoke bomb and turned invisible.

“Cheap tricks like that won't fool me.” Ezio smirked, activating his Eagle Vision, which let him see his invisible opponent. Ezio then jump kicked Sly in the chest, knocking him out of invisibility as Sly stumbled back. Ezio pulled out his sword and clashed with Sly's cane a few times. Sly jumped back and threw down another smoke bomb. “Again…?” Ezio groaned, looking through the smoke. He saw Sly's silhouette, and immediately ran up and shoved his hidden blade into Sly's neck. However, seconds later, he realized it was a cardboard Sly stand in.

“Chasing after shadows?” Sly smirked from behind Ezio. Sly then slowed down time and landed several strikes to Ezio, then lunged forward with his knockout dive attack, stunning Ezio. As Ezio was stunned, Sly then knocked him up into the air, then hooked his cane around Ezio's waste and slammed him hard into the ground, knocking him out. Sly then twirled his cane and rested it on his shoulder, swiping the Piece of Eden, “I love  good heist.”

****(The Results)****

This fight was very close. Both Sly and Ezio were deadly fighters in both stealth and combat, and they each had techniques that could end this fight quickly and easily (Stealth Slam for Sly and the Counter Kill for Ezio). Not to mention both had impressive feats of survivability. When it came to their arsenals, Ezio edges out as he had many more weapons to choose from. However, that was the only big way that Ezio held an advantage.

Sly may not have had as many weapons as Ezio, but his physical abilities were superior to Ezio's. When it came to their speeds, Sly was already much faster on account of being able to create holes by running in circles, but his time powers made it futile for Ezio to even try and compete in speed. Speaking of, when comparing their special powers I found that Sly's invisibility, electric powers, and time manipulating powers were all much more useful than Ezio's Eagle vision. Sly was stronger too. With just a cane swipe, he can knock foes as big and heavy as rhinos (which can weigh well over a thousand pounds) up above his head, which is much more impressive than any strength feat Ezio's pulled off. And when it came to the enemies they'd faced, Sly's fought a MUCH larger variety of villains. Sure Ezio's taken down plenty of armed guards and the occasional super powered priest. But on top of the countless thugs and crime lords Sly's taken down, he's also fought against robots, ninjas, ghosts, mystics, mutants, cyborgs, a dragon, and even aliens. Ezio really didn't have much that Sly hadn't seen before.

In the end, Ezio put up a good fight, but he couldn't best Sly's superior strength, speed, abilities, and experiences.
