you have to stop them, and ask,

Because, by the time they arrive,
I've already lost the fight.

you stop them there, and ask,
why.
Because, I don't need their ears,
I just want them to wipe my tears.

When people say
they'll help you get your smile back
you gotta stop them, and ask,
how.
Because, it's not that I can't smile,
I'm just afraid to go that extra mile.

When people say
they'll fight the demons for you
you think for a while, and ask,
where.
Because, the battlefield is my mind
and my thoughts flow like a strong wind.

These questions will stay unanswered,
they're in my mind after all,
where no one's allowed
not even me.
