"Ah hoenn!!" Ash said happily.

We soon arrived at the dock, as we got off the boat two trainers waved at us. I didn't recognise them so I looked at ash and serena, they both did.

One, the female, had brown hair tied in pigtails and blue eyes, the other, the male, had green hair not seaweed more like grass I would say.

"May!! Drew!!" Both ash and serena shouted in unison.

Ash's pov:

My old friends!!!!! What are they doing here??????? But the bigger question is how Serena knows them as well..... How is that even possible??????????

Serena's pov:

It was so nice to finally see may and drew again!!! We skipped down to them to greet them.

"May, Drew!!!! It's been ages!!!!!" Ash exclaimed.

"How have you been?" I chimed in.

"Wait..... How do you know each other???"

"I could be asking you the same question ash, haha. No, but you see may and drew were watching my first contest.... They saw me get to the final but sadly lose agaist a tough opponent........... After the match they came up to me to congratulate and give advice to me!!!!"

"And ever since then we've been great friends!!!" May added. Drew simple nodded in response.

Ash's pov:

"Wow that's so cool...... Well I traveled the hoenn region with may you see and drew was her Pokémon contest rival!" As I said that I noticed a blush creep on May's face.....

I shall interrogate later........

"Oh gosh!! We completely forgot to introduce the others!!!"

"Oh yes, meet Lillie..."

"Hello."

"Mel— Mallow...."

"Hiyaaa!!!!"

"Al— Lana........"

"..."

"Ric— kwaii....."

"Sup."

Normal pov:

"It's so lovely to meet you all!!" May said nicely.

The gang now went to have dinner at a nearby restaurant.... Unfortunately excluding the grass head as he had some important business...

The gang sat around a circular table. Ash sitting g next to lillie, Lillie sitting next to may, may sitting next to Serena, Serena sitting next to Lana, Lana sitting next to mallow, mallow sitting next to kiawe and kiawe next to ash. Yes that was definitely necessary.

Once they had all ordered everyone introduced themselves to may..... And may introduced herself to everyone...

"Hello everyone, I'm May.... I'm a Pokémon coordinator!!"

This was going smoothly until.....

"Mallow here!!!!! I'm a chef but who cares about me when I smell a ship in the air...... So May is Drew your boyfriend????"

"Ahh!" The brunette froze up. "Haha.... Well..... That's complicated.... You see we err.......well...." Serena giggled seeing mallow so desperate to know the details of her love life........ Though knowing them for about a month already the honey-blondette had picked up on the fact that they both fancied each other alas they were too stubborn to admit............

May finally came to a conclusion......... "No. There's no way I would ever fancy that grass head!!! He's so arrogant and annoying...... Although I guess he can be....." May started blushing again and the whole table burst out in laughter...

"Ahh what a great meal!!" Ash and may exclaimed together.

Lillie's pov:

It was just then we met up with drew again...

"Hey! I have an idea... Why don't we have a double battle....... Me and drew against ash and ..... Lillie!" May said triumphantly.

"Sounds like a good idea!!!" Ash agreed.

"Hmm... I will accept." I said. Although I was terrified of battling with ash. He was so much better than me.... I'm just going to let him down...... "Actually... Maybe kwaii should battle instead of me!"

Ash looked over at me, picking up on my worry, "No Lillie, I want to battle with you!" Ash said reassuringly.

So that battle started. Ash used pikachu I used clafairy.... May sent out a blazakin and drew a roserade. They were a powerful duo..... And inevitably they won........... But I wasn't sure this was a loss for me. That battle inspired me to get stronger.... So next time I battled with ash we would win!!

***THE NEXT DAY***

Today was the day of the contest... I was very excited!! I had never seen a Pokémon contest before!

In the arena I sat between may and drew. I the row behind sat ash, mallow, Lana, mallow and kwaii.

Before the contest officially started the host introduced all the judges....

"The Chief of the Pokémon Activities Committee and Head Judge, Mr. Contesta!!!!! ...... The President of the Pokémon Fan Club, Mr. Sukizo!!!!! ....... The operator of the local Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy!!!!!!!"

She paused.

"And today we have a very special guest judge........... Give a warm welcome to.......... Wallace, Pokémon coordinator extraordinaire!!!!!" The crowd went crazy, but no one went crazier than this girl with black hair in a bob.

LET THE CONTEST BEGIN!!"

The first person on stage was someone we all knew a bit too well........... Miss poshy washy........ I heard may and drew sigh too.

"Do you know her too?" I asked.

"Yes. Unfortunately..." Drew replied. "And believe it or not she won a ribbon."

"Wow." Just the as miss poshy washy walked on stage the same girl in the crowd that was obsessed with Wallace - obviously a big fan - started going crazy cheering for her. I looked up again to see who it was...... She had dark hair layered into a bob and dark red eyes. She wore a black vest and grey shorts - she also had a matching grey cape. Wow these coordinators are really popular I thought to myself.

The next coordinator to enter was someone called Skye. She was a brunette with wavy hair and hazel eyes. She sent out an umbreon, her performance was amazing!!

Next was Serena - finally!! She used sylveon!! And she got the highest score so far!

After her was a girl who looked similar to Skye, her name was misty. She had brown straighter hair and green eyes. She did really well too, she used an espeon! They all seemed so confident up on the stage..... I wish I could do something like that........

After a few more performances the first round ended. Wallace began to speak. "Wow what an exhilarating first round..... So much talent!!" He said, leaning against his hand. His hand was in a telephone position......

Now we all got out of our seats to go to the dressing room where Serena would be.

"Hi guys!!" Serena said with a hint of worry.

"Serena you were amazing!!!" Ash exclaimed.

"Yeah, you were so good!!!!!" Mallow added.

As everyone congratulated Serena I looked over to see miss poshy washy standing with misty and Skye. For some reason my legs started moving and a ended up next to them....... I knew I would regret this later...........

"Hello Miss— er..... Poshy washy!" I stammered.

"Oh hi there Lillie dear!!" She squealed squishing my cheek. "What are you doing here in hoenn??"

"Well, you see I'm watching my friend in this Pokémon contest!"

"Aw how cute. Here, meet my err...... Friends!!"

"Friends?" Skye retorted.

"Yes!!" Miss poshy washy replied. "This is Skye." The hazel-eyed girl waved. "And this is misty!" Misty simply smiled.

"It lovely to meet you both, my name's Lillie!"

"Hi Lillie!" Skye said.

"So where are you from?" Misty asked.

"I'm from the alola region!"

"That's so cool!" Skye exclaimed.

"Are you from hoenn?"

"No, we're actually from kanto but we're on holiday here and we thought we'd see what hoenn contests are like!" Misty explained.

"Yes - you see I'm actually from kanto too!!" Miss poshy washy blurted.

"Great!! Well I should probably get back to my friends now! See you around!!"

"Bye Lillie!"

"Made some new friends??" Lana asked. I just laughed in response. "Anyway... I'm really sorry Serena but I'm going to have to attend to some business elsewhere now......... I didn't pay 100,000 pokedollars on these ferry tickets for nothing. Good luck!" And with that Lana vanished.

Serena's pov:

"Look!" Mallow exclaimed. "They're announcing who got to the second round!"

We all turned our heads to the screen in anticipation.....

Slowly the faces of people that got in appeared one by one....... I clenched my fists...
