Despite how they act sometimes, Momiji and Zalona are very close to each other as they go way back when Momiji was had just really just teenage.

In the past, Momiji would spend most of her time with the oni whenever she wasn't on a mission or had spare time, evening making sure the oni eat and other things despite Zalona being annoyed at the kunoichi's nagging but did enjoy Momiji's company and two grow closer and closer.

Sometimes Zalona would actually go visit Momiji at her village and made sure she was alright.

Now a days, they are still very close but Zalona wanting to go out more and messing with the head kunoichi by wrapping her arm around her, sometimes making her feel embarrassed.
