BILLIE SQUEEZES HER HAND LIGHTLY as they exit the restaurant and are immediately blinded by the flash of cameras and yells from paparazzi and fans. Hayley inhales a sharp breath as she feels the security on each side of her guide her through the crowd and into the black SUV parked out the front. She finds that she doesn't release the breath until the doors of the car are shut and they're safely inside. Billie immediately turns to her, concern etched onto her face as she studies her girlfriend who sits in silence. "Are you okay?" she asks softly.

Hayley snaps out of her dazed-like state and quickly nods. "Yeah, I'm okay." A small smile graces her face. "That wasn't too bad. I mean, it was stressful. But it was all right."

Billie wraps an arm around her and lets her head drop onto her shoulder. "It's always a little stressful," she replies. "But it's better when you're with someone." She presses a kiss to the side of Hayley's head. "Always better with you."

The drive to Central Park is filled with conversation about how much they enjoyed the food over lunch and how annoyed they are by how much traffic is within New York City. It's only one in the afternoon and the streets are gridlocked. However, when they finally arrive and get out the car to be met with a tranquil silence floating over them, it had been worth it. Hayley looks around and, surprisingly, she doesn't find that anyone has followed them. If anyone had, they would have lost them through the journey getting here. She assumes it wouldn't take too long though until someone recognises them and then a swarm of paparazzi arrive, but she prays that is doesn't. She just wants one afternoon to pretend to be a normal person with her girlfriend.

The paths throughout the park are fairly quiet, only a few people strolling by with their dogs or with headphones covering their ears. They get a few strange looks since the two have a small group of people with earpieces and black clothing trailing behind them, but thankfully there's no unwanted attention.

Billie leads her across the grass, swinging their hands in the air, and across a bridge to get to the other side of the stream. "You seem like you know where you're going," Hayley points out with a smile.

The dark-haired girl glances to her and grins. "Yep," she replies.

Hayley shakes her head, but the smile doesn't disappear. "You planned something, didn't you?"

"Sure did. And you don't get a say in it, so deal with it."

As they walk into a clearing covered with tiny white flowers, Hayley stops walking and turns to stare at her in disbelief. "You did all this?" she asks quietly, eyes wide.

With a wave to let the security know to hang back, Billie tugs her forward and pulls her down to sit beside on the blanket that had been laid out on the grass. Set up in the small area is two glasses with a jug of juice, a small box, and a polaroid camera. "Tonight's a big deal," she says. She clears her throat and looks down to twist the rings on her fingers. "I wanted to celebrate with you."

Hayley's smile is so wide that her cheeks are beginning to ache. She places a finger under Billie's chin and they lock eyes. They slowly gravitate toward one another until their lips graze softly. The kiss is short and sweet. But as they pull away from each other, Hayley notices how her girlfriend's pupils have dilated.

Billie's eyes flick over her face and she hooks her arms around Hayley's neck to pull her closer hurriedly. "God, I love you," she murmurs. Their mouths meet again, this time more feverishly than the last.

Hayley feels her head spinning. She's intoxicated by the girl before her. Her senses are honed in on the subtle vanilla and spices of the perfume sprayed on Billie's neck and the way that fingers trail down her body. "I love you," she mumbles against her lips.

Billie smiles as she places a small amount of distance between them. She grabs the box with a soft pink ribbon adorning it and hands it to Hayley. "This is for you," she says.

Her eyes widen. "Baby, you didn't have to get me anything-"

"Well, I kinda did, 'cause then you wouldn't be matching with me."

Sitting on the cushion of silk is a small silver pendant. Engraved is the word, Billie's. A wide smile immediately beams onto her face as she meets her girlfriend's eyes. "Claiming me now, are we?"

Billie rolls her eyes affectionately and shuffles to take out the necklace hidden underneath her own shirt. Once Hayley focuses on it, she feels her heart warm. Hayley's. "I wanted to have your name on a chain 'round my neck." She bites onto her lip. "Just so everyone knows that you're mine. Now you've got one, too."

She's never felt so comfortable. So at home. Hayley leans forward and cups Billie's cheeks as she presses another kiss to her lips. "I love it," she mutters. "I love you." Her smile brightens as she feels Billie brush her hair to the side, then the cool metal hits her neck as she clasps the necklace onto her. "You're mine."

Billie turns back to look at her, and when she notices that she's smiling ear to ear, she flinches slightly. It's like she's a deer that's been caught in headlights. She's in awe. The back of her knuckles gently graze Hayley's cheek as she quietly says, "I think you were made for me."

"Yeah. Yeah, I think I was."
