Part Four
"Harness that anger, that hate, let it flow through you. Let it become one with you. Yes, good... good... Don't release it. Don't ever release it..."
Palpatine's soothing voice pirouetted around the scarlet room overlooking Coruscant. Anakin sat in the Chancellor's chair, breathing in and out... in and out... Hate consumed his thoughts. Hate for himself, hate for the Jedi restrictions, hate for the war, hate for his dreams, hate for Coruscant- no hate for the galaxy. Hate for everything. His blood had a metal edge, rough, scraping his insides away until he was just a poor soul. A poor, hateful soul.
Anakin's eyes flew open, the electric blue now rimmed with a gold. Palpatine smirked at the unnatural color. He knew that his plan was working, his plan that had been decade in the making was finally bearing its fruits. The dark side was permeating through his pupil and the soon-to-be-Emperor couldn't be happier to finally have a worthy apprentice.
Anakin groaned and his face twisted into an expression of agony.
"It hurts." He moaned, closing his eyes once again and cringing at the pain ricocheting in his bones.
"I know, my boy, I know." Palpatine comforted, patting a hand on the young man's shoulder. "Just think of Padmé and how much pain you will be saving her."
"We will be saving her. I need your knowledge." Anakin replied back with a grunt. His teeth gritted against each other in his overall bodily stress.
"Of course... of course." The older man reassured and commanded the dark side that he inserted into Anakin to be slowly released. As Anakin fell back into the chair, breathing labored, Palpatine chose a little bit of the dark side that he inserted to stay inside of Anakin. He was slowly conditioning the boy little by little to the full power of the dark side. Due to the fact that Anakin was influenced by the Jedi for the better part of his life, Palpatine knew he wouldn't be able to handle the full unlocked dark side that Sith's used. No, only a little dosages were allowed or else Anakin would likely die at the sudden change in exposure. He had worked to long and hard for his new apprentice to go to waste so quickly.
"It's-It's getting better." Anakin stuttered as he leaned back into the now sweaty leather chair.
"Excellent. That means that you are getting more used to the dark side inside of you, it is taking root." Palpatine told him, nodding in approval.
"Anakin. You are light. Don't do this. The Jedi are your family. Don't betray them. Don't destroy me-"
Anakin squashed that bit of light left inside his mind. The voice disappeared. However, deep down, he hoped it wasn't gone forever. Shaking his head, the young man stood up and strode over to his master, who was staring out the window at the Coruscanti night sky.
"My empire..."
"Master," Anakin began as he stood beside Palpatine, his hands clasped behind his back. "Why can't we just reveal ourselves to the Senate, the galaxy and let your Empire begin. The sooner your empire comes to fruition, the faster peace will be brought to the galaxy."
The Sith Lord chuckled and placed a hand on Anakin's shoulder.
"As much as I would like for that to happen right now, my boy, there are some things that must take place before hand."
"Like what?" Anakin questioned, eyeing oddly. His face was grim as Palpatine gave him a sadistic smile.
"Well, as there are to all good things, they are opposers. The Jedi are one of them, they will have to be... eliminated in order for my empire to come into full fruition. As you know by now, they are already suspect me-"
"Wait-" Anakin cut him off and turned his body to face his master's. "You are saying we have to kill all the Jedi?" The older man sighed sorrowfully.
"As much as I hate too, yes." Palpatine told him. Lying and half truths was now his language of choice. He mixed this language with basic and now, the two languages could not be told apart. Back when he was just an apprentice, lying was difficult. Twisting his words into something that wasn't true, it seemed impossible to young Sheev Palpatine. But under the dark influence and guidance from his master, it became easier to the point, he didn't even notice it. Deception and untruths is what defined him... and he wouldn't have it any other way. Palpatine noticed his apprentice flinch... yet another weakness he would need to work on.
"E-even the younglings?"
"You ignorant fool."
"But of course, their little minds have been brainwashed since birth. They are the future of the Jedi and if we do not wipe out all the Jedi, they will never truly be gone." He stated matter-of-factly. Anakin gazed downward and shifted his weight between his two feet. He certainly looked uncomfortable with what Palpatine was saying.
"Just remember, this is all for your wife. She is the most important thing to you isn't she?"
"Of course, but, I didn't think I would have to kill for her..." His voice trailed off into nonexistence. Furrowing his eyebrows, he gazed up at his master in a look that borderlined desperation.
"I am sorry but it must be done. I would hope you are not attached to the Jedi, the Sith do not make those kinds of attachments." As soon as those words slipped out of Palpatine's lips, he knew he had messed up. The Sith Lord sighed and watched as Anakin folded his arms across his chest, eyes now hard.
"But I am attached to Padmé, are you saying Sith can't have attachments?" Anakin asked, his voice becoming preditorial.
"No I am not, if you would listen, Padmé Amidala is different-"
"How is she different?" Anakin growled, moving in towards Palpatine. He felt metal scraping his blood yet again. Was it darkness? He didn't really care at this moment...
"How my attachment to her different than the Jedi? Attachment is still attachment whether is it is a friendship way, a romantic way, it doesn't matter. You just said Sith don't have attachments!"
"My boy, please listen to me and calm down so I can explain-" Palpatine was growing irritated and to add to it, Anakin cut him off yet again.
"No, YOU LISTEN! You promised me to save Padmé. I am going to do that and still be with her for the rest of my life Sith or no Sith. I am not giving up my wife! And if you think you are-"
"ENOUGH!" Palpatine screeched, raising his hands. In that moment, the lightbulbs in the office shattered and broke. The noise was horrid as the force rung clearly throughout the room. Glass rained down from the ceiling as Palpatine stalked over to Anakin.
"I will not be challenged, do you hear me? You are my apprentice and you will do as I say!" The old man screamed and force pushed Anakin into his chair. Anakin glared at him but, realizing he was not powerful enough, bowed his head in defeat.
"Yes, master." He mumbled.
"You are no longer allowed to ask any questions about attachment. You should do what I say without any questions, only then will you be able to harness the true dark side of the force and save your wife." Palpatine harshly spoke, walking back over to his apprentice.
"Yes, master." Anakin muttered once again.
"Good, now let's start again." Palpatine said and Anakin leaned back into the chair. His master laid his hands on his shoulders yet again and the two dark souls became one.
Now you may be wondering why I have been calling Anakin, Anakin and not Vader. The same with Sidious and Palpatine. Well, for Anakin not being Vader, I feel like even though he said he was Vader, he hasn't fully been consumed by the dark side. Our lovable Ani is still there right now so I feel like he deserves the title of Anakin. WIth Palpatine on the other hand, due to the fact that he hasn't really revealed himself to anyone else besides Anakin (and sort of to Padmé), I am not calling him Sidious since he really isn't going by that title unless addressed by Anakin. Also, what Palpatine is doing is feeding the dark side and it's power to Anakin little by little so he can get used to it. That is what he was doing at the beginning and that is what he was doing at the end. Okay, there is my little spiel. Sorry this part was short but I hope you liked it and I am trying to type all of this as fast as I can cause you guys are so fantastic in bugging me for more! :P Anyway, this part is dedicated to the sweet TheFandomQueen1 for all her great (and funny) comments! Love ya!
PS: If you comment or vote or whatnot, you may get a dedication too! Be on the lookout! :D
