Prologue
Zach-
Bro.
That's what we'd always be. It's what we always have been.
The casual, "No homo."
The crushing punch of every single time.
His pale lips.
Uttering those very words.
"Hah, I'm not gay."
It broke my heart a little every time, stepping and twisting the already messed up china into shards that lodged their way into my skin.
We were fucked up, a straight boy constantly striving to prove his heterosexuality, and me.
Just..me.
"Hey baby boy!" He hollered down the halls, and I try not to let my over excited grin eat up my features and swallow my face whole. My broken heart pulsed faster, those shards aching painfully within my skin.
"Hey boy!" I called making my way towards him.
He shook his head, his eyes going a little darker than usual. "You have to say baby, you aren't gay. Are you?"
Everything in me wanted to shut him up. With a kiss, with my knuckles meeting those teeth? I didn't know. Shaking my head, a fragile smile was pinned to my cheeks.
"Hah..no I'm not.." I gulp shaking my head. "I'm not..gay."
I lie.
The pieces of glass wrung their way deeper into my flesh.
He gives me an easy smile, and pats me on the shoulder.
"Good, I'm straight." Giving me that ever so charming smile, he walks away.
I sigh, trying to catch up with him. "Hey- Wait up?"
He doesn't wait up.
My china shards turned to powdered glass.
