It was another sleepless night but instead of fighting crimes, it was just stress and a series of him gaming to get his mind off that night. It's been a while since he played with Hoseok late at night too, he usually skips game night to patrol around town, even his best friend himself was surprised that it was him that invited him for a game.

"Jungkook, you're so killing it!" He comments from the voice call on how Jungkook was so accurate in hitting all the enemies in one go. There were multiple times where the scene showed a wide text .'Headshot'

6 of his enemies have been shot by him. He's calm but he is also the storm that kills everything on his way. "Wow this must be the infamous spider senses that everyone is talking about." Hoseok teases from the other line however it was ignored bluntly as Jungkook did nothing but continue the game.

Hoseok was starting to get worried at the odd behavior. It just doesn't add up how Jungkook is inviting him for an all night game session, how he is giving him the silent treatment and how he is letting his emotions out in a game.

"You Win!" The screen shows once again for the 10th time of gaming. "Ready." Jungkook signals to start another round. Hoseok thinks that's enough and will be the last game for tonight. "You're so aggressive tonight, are you sure you're fine?"

"I am." He lies.

"Well I'm going to bed. I don't plan on being late for class so you should too." Jungkook hums before the call ends.

Jungkook never said he would stop, his cursor went to the same icon to search for opponents and random teammates again. It took him quite a while, it was 3am and Koreans were already fast asleep so matching was a bit hard.

Unexpectedly he received a text, he thought it was Hoseok who warned him to sleep but instead it was from Namjoon.

Jungkook doesn't open the chat room so he wasn't caught on him being awake. He's tired, far too tired to deal with Namjoon's hours worth of lectures over things a normal teenager doesn't need to know.

He plays his games until dawn.

Though he tends to keep his promises, he knows he won't get a smile when he meets his hyung. He was so heartbroken he left the scene and never got back to the villain base like he promised himself.

Namjoon was tapping his feet, he indeed wasn't smiling "Jungkook I'm disappointed in you."

Jungkook wasn't himself either. "I'm sorry, it won't happen again."

"You think you can just apologize and let this slide easily?!" The impact of hands slamming to the table had him startled even when he anticipated it. "Jungkook, do you have any idea what you have done? Did you think I wouldn't know? I have a satellite that tracts your phone but not only did you lie directly to my face but your actions would have cost a lot of lifes and because of what, a stupid little date??!"

He knew he would eventually find out, he knew he would yell, he knew Namjoon would get extremely pissed.

It wasn't the first time he was in this same state of anger. It happened before at the beginning of becoming Spiderman where he chose to run away from a crime scene after practicing for months on it.

He learnt that he's strong, he's meant to protect the weak. The moment he was bitten by that spider was the moment where his potential would rise and he would cease to have a normal life.

"Then you become Spiderman." He clutches his fist "I'm done."

"You're kidding." Namjoon shakes his head in disbelief. "You are not running away from the mess you created."

"Yea I fucking am. I'm a teenager and I'm going to live as one." Jungkook turns to his back and attempts to head out if not being stopped by Namjoon's grip.

"This is about that kid you like isn't it."

Jungkook's silence proves his point.

"My god you really are lovesick. Just find someone new, what's so special about the kid anyways? God you're Spider fucking Man do you know how much anyone would love you instead?? It's just a silly crush, you'll get over it!"

That's where he finally boils. Namjoon had said the same thing before but at this point he is rediculating him for having feelings. He knows where he's coming from but Jungkook doesn't acknowledge it when Namjoon doesn't know who Taehyung is.

"You don't know him like I do. Sure it was a fucking crush over looks but he's kind. He's kinder than anyone I know. He cares for me. Unlike you, he genuinely cares when I get hurt. He was worried and took care of me, no one has ever done that.. not even you who knew about my injuries, you just told me to suck it up?? And- and— when you forced me to be a hero when I didn't know shit? I'm still trying to live! Unlike you this whole experiment, powers and super villains aren't my entire life. If you ask me, you're the worst person to be telling me what to do."

Namjoon was silent. Perhaps this was the first time he confessed too much of his feelings. He lets him take a deep breath before he could respond "Jungkook.. with great powers comes great responsibility."

"And I never asked for these powers! It's not a blessing but a c-curse!"

"I know.. and I'm sorry."

Jungkook widens his eyes. This was the first time he heard Hyung apologize to him. "Do you mean that?"

"It's not your fault that the radioactive spider escaped and bit you, it's not your fault that you have to mask your identity and become a superhero, it's not your fault that you have to endure all the pain when you're still so young. It's.. it's mine. None of these would've happened if I was more careful."

Jungkook nods.

"Look, Jungkook, I'm sorry that I yelled at you and for calling your date stupid. It's just that.. Doom is still out there, do you know why I was angry? Because he went on a rampage after finding out you stole his gadgets, he's holding captive those young future leaders."

Young future leaders probably meant the CEOs he met in that base.

"I'm sorry for putting you with this but it has to be you. No one can stop him but you. You want a normal life right? Ok, I'm sorry, it's my fault for putting this in your shoes but can you at least make this your last mission?"

Last mission.

Last mission doesn't sound bad.

But a good reason is Jungkook needs to participate and help them. If it wasn't because of him being driven by emotions, if he went back to the base then none of this could've happened.

He starts to apologize as well and explains where he is wrong. He's not completely white in this situation.

Namjoon finally calms down. Though there were disappointments and many shakes of his head, he won't yell. He won't yell because he's starting to understand his situation.

"He demands for his gadgets to return in 3 days or he'll blow their brains out." He even sent a letter shown by Namjoon who handed it over, even had a small signature beside it. "Jungkook, I won't force you on when you're not ready. I don't know if you have exams or homework but I want you to prepare yourself before attacking."

It truly feels foreign when Namjoon shows his care and consideration. It makes him happy that there's a change to come, that his Hyung can finally learn to understand him.

"After this, you should talk to your friend. You still like him right?"

Jungkook nods "I do."

"Honestly I still think that if he really likes you back I'm sure he won't mind you being Spiderman."

That he hopes so too. He thanks and apologizes one last time before he leaves.
