✭ 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕹𝖊𝖝𝖙 𝕯𝖆𝖞 ✭

Morning came too soon for you who did not have such a good night sleep. Your body clock who have decided to snap you out of your empty dreams coaxes you to flutter your eyes open to reality.

And for someone like you who was still pretty tired with everything, you expected nothing but the white ceiling to welcome you back in the real world

But no...

Fate isn't done with you, so that didn't happen.

Instead, you were horrified to see a face hovering above yours. Your heart's beating a bit too fast than the normal rate as you stare up at the intruder with your wide, fear-stained eyes, but the fear does not linger for too long as his features eventually dawns on you.

You gasp while he smirks.

His smirk doesn't last long though.

Because even when he has a handsome face, you didn't hesitate to smack your hand directly at his face and then forcibly shove it away from yours.

"What the f*ck are you doing?!" you scream out loud at Luck, starting your day with a curse. Not even bothered by the fact that the white-haired creature almost fell off the bed when you pushed him earlier.

Well, it was his fault anyways! Why the hell is he even acting like a creep in the first place. He totally deserves that smack. From the slap he have experienced yesterday, he should have known not to play with you.

Luck blinks his dark-blue eyes, still taken aback by the violent reaction you just pulled on him. For the second time in his life, he got slapped. Again.

And yet he still doesn't feel angry. Only confusion and wonder. Somehow, your smack—while painful at first—gradually turns into a pleasant tingling sensation, just a few seconds later of being inititated.

The corners of his lips twitch.

"Oh come on (Y/N)! You sure that you didn't miss me?" Luck whines, carressing his lovely pink cheeks. "Not even a single bit?"

During those moments of questioning, the magical being even tries to pout at you. A ridiculous attempt to look cute in your eyes and get you to say yes.

Too bad for him but you didn't fall for that, however.

You only roll your eyes.

"Nope!"

You pop your letter p.

"Not even a bit," you further your statement. "In fact, I don't want to see you," you dryly tell him, who in return puckers his bottom lips more.

You mainly scowl back at him because why in the world would you miss him when he was the one who chose to leave you alone with Star yesterday?

Traitor...

You slightly narrow your eyes before stretching out your arms and releasing out a yawn. You then make yourself sit up on the bed.

A pout on his face; he observes you yawn. As Luck does so, he cannot help but think that you are adorable while doing that.

He then proceeds to dramatically say "ouch, I'm hurt" to continue the conversation, placing a closed fist over his chest. Luck even sniffs as if to feign crying.

You roll your eyes yet again.

"I. Don't. Care," you mercilessly and deeply emphasize each of those three words for him.

Luck pouts more as he gazes at you with his scrunitizing blue-ish eyes. Ah, just how in the world can you look so innocent and angelic while being so violent and savage at the same time?!

Mortals..

They really are interesting beings, huh...

"Really? You don't really care about me?" The pout then fades, but the expression in his face didn't still as it was eventually replaced by his infamous grin just after a few seconds.

And in response, that didn't fail to cause you a shiver to roll your spine. Because while Luck might look great as fuck, his grin—with it looking so wide and unnatural—makes him appear only creepy.

Sure, the magical creature may seem like a fool, but this hollow grin tells otherwise. It only serves as a reminder that Luck is still someone that you shouldn't completely trust, as he is still a mystery box that haven't been opened yet.

Feeling unnerved, you couldn't help but glare at him, finally deciding to be honest with your feelings and thoughts.

"Can you stop grinning like that? It's creepy!"

"..."

His grin falters.

Before later bursting out into laughter. To see you so fed up with his grinning expression somehow delights Luck; it's such a interesting sight. Honestly, it was his intention to grin in such a way. He likes it when the mortals cower under his Cheshire grin.

"I'm glad you found it creepy."

You give him a strange look. "You're weird..."

"Shouldn't I be?!" Luck grins, causing you to exhale and shake your head to yourself. You just don't really exactlyunderstand what's going on in his head. And the fact that he left you last night alone with Star, you are still mad at him.

If something happened, you'll truly never forgive him— but you're fortunate that Star haven't attempted anything strange. Even so—even when nothing crazy really happened yesterday night, you still proceed to call him out, "By the way you left me last night."

You glare at him accusingly.

Though he never really left you, he did conceal himself from your sight.

He does not respond at first, making you sigh in dismay.

You eventually decided not to make a fuss out of it since it would probably just waste your time, you stand up and begin to fix the bed you slept on

His dark blue eyes silently observing you; Luck assumes that you're a well-mannered girl based from your actions. Despite Star having maids for that, you still opt to make the bed yourself.

The corners of his lips rising; he finally replies, "I didn't leave you actually." He stares at you, a bit eerily intense. "I just gave you guys a moment of privacy."

You stop from fixing and raise your eyebrow at him. "A moment of privacy?" you question as you don't find him the type of creature to care about privacy.

Luck nods. "Yes."

The being then looks away as if he's to admit something very shameful. "Also I—" He blinks his eyes. "—I don't want to disrupt your interactions with him. You see, I'm the type of being who does things without thinking. And so not wanting to be a nuisance, I deliberatedly moved away from you guys."

"Oh really," you mutter, uncertain if you are truly gonna believe that. Maybe those are just excuses, an attempt to justify his reasons for going away.

"Why? Did you miss me?"

Luck smiles at you, winking as if to flirt.

You blankly stare at him for quite a while.

But when Luck only stares back at you with those dark - blue eyes, you are forced to avert your focus to the half-way finished bed. That very brief staring contest merely leaving you nothing but shivers.

Luck notes that and smirks.

That smirk though instantly fades as he senses footsteps coming closer. His time with the mortal girl is over, and he has to go again. He excuses himself to leave; but you do not even bother to spare him a glance, just putting all your attention on your task.

Not before long, someone gently knocks on the door—a voice, alongside, calls out your name. Hearing the voice, you can already guess who's outside.

Star Varrens.

Of course, it's Star Varrens.

"Come in," you dullishly spoke, hoping Star wouldn't be like Luck and ruin your morning too.

Entering the room, he looks as if he dressed to kill. His clothes—casual yet fashionable—it is nothing like the silly pajamas he wore last night.

You blink your eyes, taking in his delicious appearance. When you notice that he is already looking so confused by your quiet state, you snap out of your daze and start speaking.
"Wow, you're early," you dryly comment, proceeding to finish the task. Smoothening the folds on the blanket as you finally accomplish all; you somehow feel a little bit better for being productive early in the morning.

Tilting your attention to him; he blinks his electric- blue eyes at you. Glancing at the bed behind your form for a quick second, Star focuses on you again. "....and you're awake," he curiously says, "Why is that?"

Star didn't expect you to be up this early in the morning, considering that it is still pretty much 6:00 A.M. He was expecting you to be asleep; but no. Instead, here you are right now—standing before him.

Your (H/C) hair quite a mess since you just woke up, but you don't look so terrible. In fact—you look just like the night before.

Your (E/C) eyes, also seemingly sleepy.

As the young man quietly takes in your appearance, you, on the other hand, slightly become gloomier at the recent memory of waking up to Luck's face earlier.

That—which you really swear—did give you the damn frights out of your life.

Your bodyclock might have compelled you to open your eyes, but his face suddenly being so close to you startled you so much to become fully awake.

Flinching at the memory, you didn't say that but instead give a different reply, "Uh, it's because I'm preparing to leave. I'm done sleeping here anyways, so I do not have anymore reasons to stay."

Star just stares at you... making you rub the back of your neck in awkwardness. "Also, I don't want to trouble you any longer."
You avert your eyes as you sigh. "—you already did me a lot of favors, Star, but I don't have anything on me to repay you. All I can just give you is my gratitude."

"Took you long enough to say thanks."

You return your gaze to his figure, only to see him smile as if he doesn't really care whether you repay him or not. Him suddenly stepping closer however, makes you look look at him with a raised brow.

"But are you really really sure about leaving? You.. don't want to stay here? I mean—the offer is still up; don't be shy to tell me if you change your mind. I wouldn't mind you staying here."

Those words hastily leaving his lips—it's almost like he was desperately persuading you to stay, which of course instantly set off the red alarms in your mind.

You press your lips for a second.

Your confused gaze then narrows in suspicion. "Why would you want to offer your home to a stranger? How.. can you be so trusting?" you ask, "What if I'm actually a bad person or something?! You should really be careful, you know."

Star casually shakes his head as he can't prevent himself from chuckling. Just why in the world are you being soo hesitant upon accepting his offer; it is for your own sake anyways, so why?

"But you're not a bad person, right..." It was supposed to be a question, but it ends up sounding like a statement; a frown tugs your lips as you can see his determination for you to stay here.

He's too kind and trusting honestly.

Or maybe, the reason is something more.

"Who knows. Maybe I am..." you vaguely reply, hoping that would make him stop.

Star doesn't have a reaction though as you perceive him focused in his own thoughts. A few seconds pass before the young man finally utters a sentence again, "Now I'm just curious and didn't really mean to be nosy, but why.. are you homeless, (Y/N)?"

Your name, rolling down his tongue in ease as if he has been practicing to call that out loud.

"Don't you have friends or family??" Star curiously ask, "Don't you attend school?"

Your face twitches, expressing disdain for a second; but you answer nonetheless to his question. Since he did let you stay here for the night without any repayments, you can just answer his questions as an alternative.

"I do. I do. And I do..."

You pause as if to realize a thing.

"Well, that was before." You plop yourself on the bed as you begin slightly opening up to the young gold- blonde haired actor. "I left because I don't feel welcomed in my own house. I do have some friends, but I do not want to trouble them with my life problems."

As if he can use that to appeal you, he offers you a kind smile. "You won't trouble me, however, (Y/N). You can stay here."

His words didn't really comfort you nor persuade you. You just stare at him, exasperatedly, before shaking your head in refusal. The more he tries to get you to stay.. the more you have the urge to refuse.

His intentions are not exactly clear to begin with; Luck's words regarding the f*ck luck echoing inside your mind does not help either with the situation.

"It's okay, Star. You don't have to. I—I—"

"—Look, (Y/N)... You don't really have to pay me with anything. Just stay and amuse me," the actor generously offers to you, which, of course, instantly making you all stiff to the body.

"Seriously?" you ask in disbelief.

"Well, yeah.." Star says as if what he said does not mean anything wrong, but you did clearly see what was wrong with his statement, and you are even more resolved than ever with your decision.

The condition that was laid out to you sounded a bit too creepy for your liking.

Stay and amuse him?!!

Stay and amuse him?!!

What in the world does he mean by that?

"So, what do you think?" he questions with a kind smile. In his electric-blue eyes, you see the hope shining within them.

While Star looks so sincere—and so handsome—right now, you just cannot accept it. His words, endlessly repeating in your head; you know that it's better safe than to be sorry, and so you refuse again.

"I'm sorry I can't."

Star is a little bit taken aback from your stubborness, but he continues to insist nonetheless. "At least.. consider it, (Y/N)." His voice, more soft yet firm; but you just shake your head at him, reaching for your dark grey backpack instead and proceeding to the restroom with it carried in your arms.

"Please leave. I'm gonna take a shower," you tell him to finally end this meaningless conversation before closing the door on his face.

Star stares at the door, somehow feeling helpless.

He presses a hand on his head as he can't help but heave out a sigh.

So you wouldn't?

"But why won't you though..?" Star sullenly murmurs to himself while he eventually sets his foot out of the guest room.

Completely lost in a daze, he doesn't even understand it himself why he's reacting like this towards you. There's nothing wrong with you refusing his offer, but why.. in the world... did it make him feel so anxious.
