Chapter 13

Posting here to start because of the cyber bully saying hurtful stuff about this fanfic. He or she has no name that I'm aware of.
....

In the dining hall Weselton was complaining. "It is getting colder by the minute! If we don't do something soon we'll all freeze to death!" He said angrily. But then Hans showed up, looking like he was traumatized. "Prince Hans!" Weselton gasped slightly.

Hans leaned on the door. "Princess Anna is, dead..." he said sadly. That shocked the Duke and the others. "No! What happened to her?" He guided Hans to sit down.

"She was killed... by her guardian. Out of revenge from Queen Elsa hurting him," he explained. The Duke at first was mortified that the guardian the two had for years would just turn on them. "That can't be," Weselton exclaimed.

Hans gazed at them sorrowfully. "The beast escaped. But Anna and I were able to say our marriage vows until she died in my arms." He said in a fake sad tone. Kai himself was a bit put off by this statement. Why would Brooklyn be turning on them now, when he was nothing but nice to them all?

Weselton looked gleeful at having those two freaks be accused of something. "There can be no doubt now. Queen Elsa and that devil are both monsters and we're all in grave danger," he growled. Another man turned to Hans. "Prince Hans. Arendelle looks to you." Hans pretended to look guilty for what he would do.

"With a heavy heart, I charge Queen Elsa and former Guardian Brooklyn both with high treason. And sentence them to death." He proclaimed in a kingly manner, eyes narrowed.

....

Meanwhile in the prison Elsa knew she had to escape and get back to her castle. While she began to break her cuffs with the ice she heard bangings on the door. She tugged as hard but while doing so Elsa suddenly saw Brooklyn in her head, hair all blue, and slowly freezing.

This is all your fault Elsa. Now your guardian is dying... taunted her conscience. She gritted her teeth as voices from outside came too, finally pulling free. She was going to stay away from Brooklyn and her sister so she wouldn't have to see them die. After breaking free Elsa blasted the wall, climbing out and beginning to run.

Hans and the soldiers smashed through the door finally only to see their prisoner gone. It made Hans growl, glaring at the hole in the wall. He will find her.

...

Back in the room where Anna continued to hold a weak shivering Brooklyn who felt weak and feverish from his heart freezing. They both saw ice forming along the ceiling. This could be the end for them both. The fire had gone out again from Anna not wanting leave Brooklyn to tend it well. Brook gripped Anna's hand, tears falling down as suddenly the door rattled. The two glanced up.

"H...help..." Brooklyn croaked sickly as Anna readied herself for any attack. But all who it was was Olaf. He had picked the lock with his carrot nose.

Chuckling he glanced around. "Olaf! Here!" Anna yelled. The snowman turned over to see two of his friends, running over. "Anna! You're ok! But, Brooklyn," he said softly, gazing down at the gargoyle who looked worse than the last time he saw him, his hair more blue than before, giving a weak grin.

"T-thanks for... coming..." he said gratefully before coughing and sneezing. Anna felt his head which felt both cold and hot. "Oh, you have a fever!" She said in a scared voice. Olaf went to start a fire. As he lit it up the fire captivated him. Anna gasped. "Olaf, get away from there!" She ordered. Olaf just smiled.

"Whoa, so this is heat! I love it!" He leaned out but his hand caught the flame. "Whoo! But don't touch it!" Olaf went back to help Anna move Brooklyn closer to the warm flames. He still shivered but the crackling fire felt better than the dark cold earlier.

The beaked male gave Olaf a thankful look but Olaf had questions. "Where's Hans? And why is Brooklyn still cold?" He asked. Anna glanced down. "We were wrong about him, mostly me. It wasn't true love. And Hans wouldn't help Brooklyn because he hates his kind." She said sadly. Brooklyn himself had tears coming, still shaking. Olaf looked sad. "But we ran all the way here," he said.

"Olaf, y-you'll melt if you remain here," Brooklyn said firmly. But Olaf shook his head, sitting down. "I'm not leaving here until we find some kind of true love to save you! Anybody have any ideas?"

Anna looked down. "I don't even know what love is," she said. Brooklyn himself remained quiet. And I may never have it, he thought. Olaf smiled. "That's ok, I do. Love is putting someone else's needs before yours, and maybe even doing a difficult thing to protect the other. Like how Kristoff brought you Anna back to Hans and left you forever. And when Elsa didn't want you anywhere near because she's afraid to hurt you Brooklyn," he explained.

Brook's ears perked slightly. Did Elsa really love him for real? Anna looked the same. "Kristoff, loves me?" She asked. Olaf rolled his eyes. "Wow, you really don't know anything about love, do you?" His carrot nose began falling.

"Olaf, you're melting," Anna exclaimed. Olaf smiled. "Some friends are worth melting for," he said, causing Brooklyn to smile weakly at him before the wind suddenly blew the window open. It made Brook wince up from the bitter cold, scooching closer to the fire, Anna shielding him. "Don't worry! I got it!" Olaf yelled, running over to close it.

"We're gonna get through- wait, hold on. I'm getting something!" He used an icicle as a telescope, gazing out of it. "It's Kristoff and Sven! They're coming back this way!" He yelled. Earlier Sven convinced Kristoff to return to his friends to help them. Brooklyn was shocked. "Ok, I think I have hypothermia," he mumbled. Olaf shook his head. "I'm serious! And wow, he's really moving fast. I guess I was wrong, I guess Kristoff doesn't love you enough to leave you behind Anna.

Brook narrowed his eyes. If Kristoff proved he loved Anna then he had to prove his love for Elsa to cure his iced heart. He cringed, trying to stand. Anna gasped. "Brooklyn? What are you doing? You need to stay near the fire and be warm!" Brooklyn looked determined. "G-gotta g-get to Elsa," he said in his shivery voice, legs feeling like jelly. Olaf gave him a grin. "Why?" Brook rolled his eyes at the obvious.

"Oh, I know why! There's your true act of love right there! To help your love open up her heart closed off by fear to you! Come on!" Anna supported Brooklyn as suddenly ice formed faster above. Like they could remain long anyway. "Look out!" Olaf yelled, guiding them out.

The trio raced along the hallways to escape the deadly ice. But each end of the hallways was blocked except the windows. "We're trapped!" Olaf cried out. But then Brook noted the window. "A-Anna, w-window!" He pointed. Anna obliged, knocking the window open; the shutters falling off. Brooklyn shielded his face again from the blizzard. The castle was nearly covered up by now. He couldn't glide in his condition either.

But there was one option. "Slide guys!" Olaf shouted. Brooklyn gulped at the height but had to do it for Elsa. He and Anna climbed out and went down the snowy hill. Brooklyn yelped out from how slippery it was but they hit the ground safely.

He coughed harshly, hand on his chest. "Brooklyn?" Anna said worriedly. He shook his head. "F-f-fine. Y-you two get K-Kristoff. M-must... Elsa..." he said, knowing he was getting weaker every minute. They couldn't waste time.

Anna didn't move. "You can't walk by yourself right now!" She persisted, but Brooklyn shoved her in the other direction. "Just go! GO! He roared, tears spilling down. Olaf unfortunately had been blown away by the wind while talking but Anna, with her own tears, nodded as she began to run against the wind.

Baring his fangs Brook began his slow trek across the frozen waters, hoping Elsa would be somewhere out here. He needed her now! Coughing; Brooklyn began to yell out as much as his voice would allow. "ELSA!! ELSA!!" He screeched, stumbling every step, sometimes crawling on his hands, which began being covered with ice, boats frozen in the ice all around him. Brooklyn's tears welled up further at the thought of freezing to death without his family or a mate to be near him, feeling so alone again.

Elsa further out than Brooklyn had been trying to escape into isolation but Hans caught up to her. "Elsa! You can't run from this!" She gazed back at him. "Just take care of my sister. And friend," she said. But inside she knew she loved Brooklyn, though it could be too late by now.

"Your sister and 'friend?' Your friend betrayed the kingdom out of his grief from you hurting him by killing Anna through revenge, then perished himself from the ice in his heart you put there!" Hans said in a stern voice. Those words hit her hard. They couldn't be dead! "No!" She sobbed.

"I tried to save her and persuade Brooklyn to snap out of his rage but it was too late! After Anna fell to the floor bleeding out her life, Brooklyn's skin turned ice, his hair turning blue. He didn't last long with your cursed magic. All your family are dead, because of you!" Hans accused harshly.

Elsa couldn't talk then; her heart torn with grief and love for them both. Out of sorrow she sunk to the ground, the snow flakes suddenly slowing down. This startled some onlookers at the sudden halt of the blizzard.

Brooklyn trudged along, feeling weary and nearly frozen, his voice practically gone now. "E-Elsa... p-pl..." his voice ended in shivering and coughing until suddenly he heard what sounded like a sword unsheathing. Eyes glowing, he gazed about, seeing that no good Prince Hans nearby, and... ELSA! He was gonna kill her!

That made the young gargoyle growl weakly, even though his strength was practically gone he had enough adrenaline to save his true love, even if it meant dying in the process and never returning home to his clan.

Kristoff and Anna had been reunited at last and Olaf had somehow pulled himself together. The three knew they had to find Elsa and Brooklyn before something bad happened.

Hans smirked triumphantly, ready to lower his sword onto Elsa who didn't even look. But didn't expect a voice to ring through the air.

"NOOOO!" It was Brooklyn; who managed to do one last jump in front of his love, raising his freezing hand to stop Hans. But his body began to get more covered in ice at that point. Hans's sword came down onto Brook's solid hand, but an ice wave sent him back, knocking him out. Brooklyn saw blue in his vision before eventually; everything went deathly silent, breathing his last in cold darkness.
