Let's say it's about four years after canon.  The Hellfire Club and Underground are united.  And Marcos and Lorna married as well as John and Clarice.

Esme saw Andy sitting nervously at their table.  He did want to ask her something and wanted to do it know at this moment.  He was clutching something small in both his hands.

He was giving her permission to look into his mind amd see his thoughts.  To know how he wanted to ask her. To her surprise he wante to propose to her.  He was completely certain about it but couldn't think of the right method to actually do it. But eventually after ruling out literally every other option he finally figured it out.

He would show her in his mind how exactly he wanted to do it. With every detail and every other scenario he wanted to ask.  Every part was descriptive and every single one was honest.  Realistic and unrealistic ways Andy had thought about before asking how this important question.  Over a hundred different ways all of which came straight from the heart.

She couldn't begin to think about how much time this must have taken.  How he was able to hide these thoughts from her so well.

" Yes I can't believe you would do this." Both of them were actually crying.  Andy was overwhelmed by relief and happines and for Esme it was the suprise and every aspect of his unconventional proposal.  The perfect way for someone to ask a telepath without ruining the surprise or cheapening the moment.

For both of them it had become the perfect  moment.

Andy told her exactly when he knew he wanted to ask her." Ever since he went to Clarice and John's wedding and that sign came to use actually hitting you in the face. Something just clicked and I realized it. "

" That was Clarice throwing her bouquet at my face just as we were talking about our future. But you've saved all these thoughts for this occasion you did this."

" It seemed like the only way. The only way I could ask you. But now we can plan the rest of this together.  There's somethings that go unsaid like Aurora being there as the flower girl. But we need to get a location maybe one of the Hellfire Club's safe houses. We could invite everyone and we could tell them all at once."

Now that this was done it was time for both of them to take the next few steps together.  All the work,  preparation and a day that would be the best of both their lives.
