When the lights finally came back on the first thing the Mutant Underground saw was Andy and Esme holding on to each other with her arm wrapped around him and. They looked to be the the middle of some sort of special moment just between the two of them shortly before everyone could see them. 

Lauren like any big sister was horrified seeing her younger now silver haired brother embracing one of the Frost Sisters while in close proximity to his own family.  Everyone like her was speechless and their reactions were more and the less the same for the explanation Andy and Esme gave them.

" This is not what it looks like. Lorna's contractions and the delivery knocked out all of the power and me and Esme had to hold on to each other after I stumbled a few times. That's all that happened. "  Catlin knew her son wa partially telling the truth and this most likely did start as them trying to find their way around in the dark but it almost became so much more. It was easy to tell from the embarrassment that took the place of Andy's passionate look with Esme. Esme was better at changing her facial expressions and putting on an act but Catlin was still able to tell.

Clarice made a comment immediately. " So ten minutes into this blackout and she's robbing the cradle.  But Von Struckers previous look didn't lie."

" Look about twenty minutes ago Lorna brought in a beautiful bundle of joy and it's a girl. Before Marcos sprinted past us it's first cries were heard. We were trying to find all of you. Now go meet the baby and forget about this." Esme stated coldly. 

" Seriously dad nothing happened we were just feeling our way around in the dark. That's it." Andy told his father. Reed made a similar excuse when he was younger in college with Catlin during a party. But he left nevertheless planning to have a talk when he could.

Luckily meeting the baby got the attention off them till Lorna shared the tale about Andy and Esme in the same bed.
