Andy thought Lauren was supposed to stay with him. It was what she promised to do with him but she had to run off with her friends. Those older ones who didn't like Andy tagging along or watching them.  Andy didn't know  why  didn't like him all that much. He barely talked with them except for maybe once with Clarice one of Lauren's closest friends.

It was  hard to be around people who all knew each other. Kids who were playing with each other and having fun. While all Andy had was a notebook for all his drawings that kept him busy.

No one had talked to Andy when he was in class and or said anything when he sat alone at lunch drawing. It was like there was some unspoken rule to leave Andy as the lonely kid. It didn't help he hesitated before talking to people when he was nervous. 

It didn't help he spent a lot of time sketching instead if socializing.  So Andy was prepared to spend his this hour drawing while others had fun.

Usually he liked to draw wolves but after reading this X-Men comic he found a character he really liked. There was this character who wasn't exactly a hero but was a lot like Andy. Someone who spent a lot of their life alone but was very strong. He made people be afraid of him.

Andy was trying to remember every detail when he noticed this girl watching him. She was uncomfortable being alone and she seemed to think a part of herself was missing.  She was probably older then Lauren but in how she stood and the poorly hidden anxiety was a reminder. 

He decided to just wave and see if she actually wanted to be around him. " What do you went?" Andy just shrugged before answering. 

" You looked right at me and I know that look. Someone's supposed to be here that isn't.  Your not just looking for a friend it's a sibling. " Andy was guessing but judging by her facial expression he was right. 

" My sisters got..sick it's really bad and they'll be stuck at home for a while. I didn't need anyone but them at this place. Me and them we shared everything thoughts,  style,  plans and skills. I didn't need to socialize I just needed them."

" I know what it's like. My sister Lauren's been around me since I was a baby but ever since she made this friends at school that don't like me her  baby brother it's been hard. They aren't mean it's just they don't want me around. Since then I've been just drawing just to pass time.  We have at least a little in common.  I'm Andy Strucker."

" Esme and I have to say that's not how you draw Pyro.  It's way off and super inaccurate they always do this with the clothes." She flipped to a new page and she gave him instructions. He didn't know if what she said or described was true but it was nice. Having someone comment on his drawings and new to talk to. They actually shared some stories about what was the worst about school and the best thing about the X-Men. Some. Hinest and embarrassing stories.  Things Andy barely shared with Lauren or his own parents.

She was a little bossy and stuck up but it was still nice having her around.  Most times he was worried about what other people thought about him. Sometimes he got so worried he wouldn't even try to talk or start something.  Especially someone that he didn't know or to him was new.

Andy hated it when it was time to return to class. Esme wasn't happy either and she actually wrote down a lot of information in his notebook." I'll call your house or show up there Von Strucker.  And you better not tell Lauren anything we talked about. Don't ask me how I know. "

" Don't worry about it " Andy commented with a smile both of them walking in together. Lauren teased him later that day. Andy didn't understand it or why Lauren kept calling Esme his girlfriend.  And his parents were really weird. So what it was just an older girl that he thought was awesome.  What was wrong with everyone?
