Without a word the boy gave Esme his jacket, lunch and everything in his pockets. He was three or four years younger then her. Esme stumbled upon him waiting for his big sister. Esme and her own sisters had split up to make people give them what they needed. Food, clothes,  medicine and too often shelter. That part was always tricking having to control people before and after going alseep. They were reported nearly half a dozen times and recently lost everything they gathered.

And it was freezing today. Esme was shivering by the time she approached him ready to force him to give away his belongings. She didn't have a chance to even use her powers. Without a word but and just a smile  he gave over everything.

She pushed him away confused." Why? I'm a complete stranger."

" Your cold and hungry. It's freezing today and you looked so alone. I'm raised better then to let you suffer outside. I don't think we should all just look away when someone's clearly in need of help. Learned it from my mom and my comic books. You have to leave now before my sister comes to get me. I'll tell her bullies took my stuff. My family will believe that. "

She walked away perplexed but she looked back for a moment to smile back. Her sister's would not believe she ran into a good person who just gave things away.
