Leafy's head throbbed, pain all over her body as she came to. She hissed in pain, feeling something soft underneath her. Sitting up, she tried to rub her head.

Something rugged at her hands. Fully awake now, she glanced at her hands, gasping. Her hands hand been covered up with some type of cloth. Tied as well.

"You're finally awake." A familiar voice said, scaring Leafy. Her head snapped towards the voice, tensing when she saw Firey. He was sitting in a chair across from her.

"I hope you feel better." He smiled kindly. She backed away from him, her back hitting the wall. "Here?! Did you seriously bring me back here?!"

Firey looked away, knowing she was scared of him. "I'm going to hurt someone again! Why did you bring me here?!" She asked, as he grit his teeth.

He snapped his head back to her, leaning on the bed. "No one is in danger but you!" He raised his voice at her. "Don't you even know what's happening to your body?!"

She glared back. Her makeshift handcuffs started to freeze. "I don't care what happens to me as long as everyone's safe! Why do you think I ran away in the first place?!"

Firey's glare softened. "I don't know what you want from me!" She seethed. "You wanted me gone, you want me to be safe!" Tears pricked the corners of her eyes.

"You...held me!" An angry blush rose, as her tears fell. She looked away, lowering her voice. "Then...you dropped me...said all those awful things..."

Her glare softened, as she relaxed her body, no longer tense. "...I've done nothing but hurt people." She finally said, before looking Firey straight in the eyes.

"So...why did you bring me back?" Firey sat on the bed, getting closer to her. "Leafy...I have to tell you the truth..." He said, inching closer to her.

She tensed slightly, staring at him in confusion. He gently took her arm, at least, the best he could with her hands tied. With his free hand, he caressed her face.

He stared into her eyes, noticing how beautiful they were. He was quiet a lot longer than he meant to be. "Leafy...I brought you back because I-"

Loser entered the room, interrupting him. "Firey, we need to get Leafy to the me-" He stared at them, expression blank for a moment. Firey stared back blankly too.

Loser glared at him. "Firey, I swear to Cake-" Firey let go of Leafy, blushing profusely, waving his hands in defense. "Loser, it's not what it looks like!"

He stepped closer to the pair, grabbing Firey's arm and dragging him away from Leafy. "Ow! Loser!" Firey cried out. "Sorry Leafy. We'll be back to take you to the medbay after this flame cools down."

Leafy stared blankly as they left the room. It took her a moment to realize what had happened. She blushed, feeling confused and flustered.

"I...What?!" She shook her head. "Never mind, I have to focus on getting out of here." She stared down at her handcuffs freezing them.

They started to crack. She shook them, as they split slightly. Finally, they broke, and she smiled. Quickly, she looked around the room, hoping for an escape.

Going over to the window, she saw it was barred. "Damn it!" She whisper yelled, looking around. The only other way out was the door. She winced, walking over to it.

Gently, she opened the door, peeking out. No one was around. She slipped through, looking around. The pick a direction, and ran. Someone behind her gasped.

"Leafy!" She heard Cake yell. "Someone's gotta tell Loser!" Leafy shivered, continuing down the hallway. She looked around, and time seemed to slow down.

She passed an open room. Loser and Firey were inside. Leafy could see Loser's angry expression fall as she passed. He exited the room.

"Leafy!" He called after her. She ran faster, and turned down the hall. "Where the fuck is the exit?!" She nearly yelled, looking around. To make sure no one could follow her, she used her powers on the ground, making a thin layer of ice.

Leafy turned another corner, bumping into someone. She fell to the ground, and tried to scramble away. When she saw who it was, she gasped. "F-Four..."

He looked down at her. She noticed he didn't have his jacket. "I'm sorry Leafy." He apologized as she stood up. He chuckled slightly.

"I can't let you leave." Her eyes widened as she backed away a step. "I-I don't wanna hurt you, Four!" She explained. That was when she noticed his metal arm.

White light suddenly erupted from his other hand, and he smiled at her.

"I don't want to hurt you either..."

       "What do you mean she's back in the town?!" Taco asked in disbelief. Gelatin was breathing heavily. He had just got a call from Coiny, telling him to stop Taco.

        He had ran out of the shop to stop her as she passed. "That's...ha...what Coiny told me!" He collapsed, his tongue sticking our slightly. Taco sighed.

      "Okay, I have to turn back now..." She looked at the town below. "Oh, you can take my sled if you want!" Gelatin offered, suddenly better. Taco glanced at the sled.

     
      Leafy hit the wall, shivering slightly. Her whole body ached in pain. Four chuckled, twitching slightly. "Come on! I know you're stronger than that!"

       He said, grinning. "Fight me, or go back to your room!" Tears were falling down his face. He didn't seem to notice them. His shoulders shook, as Leafy stared in horror.

      "Four-" Another beam of his light zapped her, making her shiver. "I'm not even using my full strength!" He shook his head, more tears falling down.

      "D-Don't make me do this, Four!" Leafy stood up, wincing. Four rose both arms, a smile still on his face. With his metal hand, he held his face.

      "Do it!" He said, his pupils getting smaller. Leafy tried to run past him, but he stepped in front of her. She bumped into him, and he grabbed her hand.

       He pressed her up against the wall, and she could see him clearer. She stared at him in confusion. Why was he doing this? His smile started to fall, and he started to sob.

      "I'm...I'm sorry." He sobbed. His grip loosening. "I did it again...I fucking did it again." He let go of her. He covered his face with his elbow in shame.

      "He's dead. You're going to be dead. I just keep losing everyone!" Leafy's shoulders fell slightly. "I'm sorry." Four said again. "I don't want to lose you too!"

      Leafy placed a hand on his shoulder. He glanced at her. "What do you mean...that I'm going to die?" She asked with a gentle tone. She didn't want to make things worse.

     Four avoided her eyes. "...Your powers are caused by a parasite." He sighed after a few moments of silence. "The same powers my fiancé had when he was affected."

    Leafy covered her mouth in shock. "It is slowly killing you. I'm not going to let you die too." He said, hugging her. "There is one way to fix this..." He tensed.

    "...This is going to sound stupid." He muttered. "But...True Love's Kiss." Leafy shook her head I'm confusion. "...What?" She asked, anxiety slowly rising.

    "I'm serious Leafy." He sternly said. She broke the hug. "Four..." she started. "You don't understand..." He looked at her in confusion, before he gasped.

     "No...No!" He clenched his head. "Don't you dare say it!" Leafy tensed. She backed away. "I don't love anyone!" She exclaimed. Four screamed in frustration.

     "Fucking damn it!" He grit his teeth. "I can't blame you for not falling in love, but we're so fucking close to getting rid of this thing!" Leafy backed away some more, shaking her head.

     "I-I'm sorry-" she ran off again. Four reached for her. "Leafy!" She was gone. She had managed to slip around him, and was headed to the front door.

She burst through the doors, coughing. More of the purple liquid came up. Running across the lake, she could hear several voices call out to her.

But two of them stood out to her more than the rest. "Leafy!" Taco and Firey called out at the same time. She skid to a halt, staring to her side.

She met the eyes of Taco, who was now metal...and seemed fine. But she wanted to keep it that way, so she kept moving. "Stay away!" Leafy screamed, coughing.

Taco ran closer to her, and she turned around. Firey was close behind, almost reaching her. Leafy started to cry, her body feeling heavy...and cold.

With her last breath, she cried out to them. "I'm sorry!" Her entire body froze, ice covering her entire body. Everyone gasped, stopping dead in their tracks.

Taco was the first to get to her. "LEAFY!" She cried out, touching her frozen shoulders. She sobbed, feeling how solid Leafy was. She was just an ice statue now.

"T-There's still time!" She sobbed, kissing Leafy. Tears ran down her face. A minute passed. The others caught up with her, as she kissed Leafy again.

She let out a shaky sob. It wasn't working. She hugged Leafy, feeling weak at the knees. Four put a hand on her shoulder. He gently pulled her away from Leafy.

Tears slipped out as he hugged Taco. "We were too late." He said, as everyone stared at the statue in grief. Pin cried, burying her face into Coiny's chest.

Coiny held her, knowing how guilty she felt. But Firey took Leafy's death worse than all of them. He stepped towards the statue, sizzling loudly.

He fell to his knees, sobbing. "Leafy...oh god..." he clenched his head, letting out a scream. He cried, feeling the tears sting his body.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" He sobbed. "Leafy, you have no idea how much I wish I could turn back time!" He confessed. "Not just to undo what I did...but to tell you how I really feel!"

Everyone stared at him in shock. They all fell silent. All eyes were on him. He didn't even notice. "Back there...before Loser interrupted us...I was going to tell you..."

He paused, standing up. He hugged the statue, sobbing. "I love you!" His arms shook, as he grasped her.

Everything was dark.

Leafy felt like she was floating. Out of nowhere, she hears a voice. "There's still time!" It was echoey, and faint, but it sounded like Taco.

Then...she heard sobbing. Firey screamed, almost startling her. "I love you!" He sobbed, also sounding echoey. She sighed, feeling like water was filling her lungs.

"Are you giving up?" A squeaky voice asked from behind. She turned around, staring emotionlessly at the voice. Leafy couldn't see who was speaking.

A yellow light blinded her. "This isn't going to be pretty...but I'm not going to let one of my own kind die." The light spoke, and a snapping sound followed.

Leafy gasped, taking in a sharp, deep breath. Her body unfroze, and she began to cough, startling Firey. "L-Leafy!" He cried out in joy.

She pushed him away, vomiting up a mixture of blood and purple ooze. Firey stared at her in concern. She coughed, falling to her knees. Four ran over to her.

Something writhed in the puddle, and Four stomped it angrily. "Fiancé murderer!" He hissed, making sure the parasite was dead. He helped Leafy up.

Everyone cheered, glad she was okay. She groaned, looking up. They stopped. She looked awful...two dark circles were under her eyes. Even though part of her color came back, she was still partially orange.

"I'm sorry everyone." She said, letting go of Four. "I...I really need to be alone for a while." She started to walk off, but Firey grabbed her hand. "Leafy..."

She stared at him, an he noticed an odd emotion in her eyes. "Firey. I appreciate the sentiment." She said. "But...I'm not ready to forgive you that quickly."

His face fell slightly. "You...heard...?" His face fell even more, as he teared up. "I...I said I was sorry!" She pulled away from him. "Thank you for caring about me, everyone."

She said, limping away. "But I just want to be alone." As she walked away, everyone was silent. They watched as she went back to the abandoned mansion.

Taco sighed. "Golf Ball...?" She asked, catching her attention.

"Do you also double as a therapist?"
