Saturday

"Mommy!" He ran to me. I smiled and pepper kisses on his cheeks.
"Hi Keemy, baby. Did you have fun?" He nodded.
"Unkie Ni Ni say we can pway at the park mommy."
"Maybe later." I lifted him on my hip. "Thanks." I didn't dare look at them, especially Niall. I just turned and left.

"Mommy, I wan ice cweam mommy."

"We'll stop by the Ice Cream Parlor on the way home okay. But I have a surprise for you first." He jumped up and down wanting to know what it was.

I bought Akeem a few outfits, shoes, a few toys and food for the month. And as promised we stopped by the Parlor for ice cream before heading home. I felt like the best parent in the world.

I was on the kitchen preparing dinner when the doorbell sounded. I dried my hands and went to the door. Akeem already there holding the door open.

"Keem, I told you. Kids don't answer doors okay."

"Otay mommy." I went to close the door seeing as no one was there but stopped when I saw a box. A gift box. I looked around before grabbing it and locking the door.

I slowly opened it. A toy truck was inside...along with a smaller box and a card. I pulled the card out opening it. It read:

A gift. For my love and her love.

I stared at the card in disbelief. Was this an admirer...or stalker? Should I call the police? Tell someone?

"Mommy?" Akeem tugged at my jeans. "Is fow me?" He asked referring to the box. I debated in my head and gave it to him. If it happens again I'll report it.
