Fountain Pen
***From the 'Wishing Well' prompt of UndiscoveredBooks
I tossed a coin into the well,
And wished,
I wish,
I wish.
I heard it fall into the water,
With a small splash.
A splish,
A splash
And I could almost see it sink into the depths,
Down,
Down,
Down.
Small bubbles rising in its wake,
Rising,
Rising.
I sat beside the well and wished,
All my troubles away,
And begged for them to stay,
The ones who always leave.
I wished for a pen,
That would make worlds from my words.
Worlds I could escape to,
Where I'd have friends.
Friends who stay.
Stay,
Stay.
I sat beside the well and wished.
And into my hand it flew,
Straight from the water,
A fountain pen,
With ink of sepia colour,
One to make my written words come true.
