August Pov

"Eyy Mya" I yelled out from her room. She was in the bathroom getting dressed since we were all goin out for pizza.

"Yaa"

"Would you laugh if I tell you something..?"

"Something like what ?" I scratched my head. I was new to all this and I just wanted let out how I feel.

"Like expressing myself"

"No .. why would I ? Thats mean or disrespectful . I wouldn't want someone to laugh at me while expressing how I feel so.. go ahead" I nodded.

"I..I...I feel good when I'm at church..." I was met with silence so I continued.

"After you spoke about not judging others there was some kind...shift in the atmosphere. My heart felt awesome.. it felt great.. there was some kind of joy and peace I never experienced...

"..and I liked it and I been thinkin alot .... after the word I left that church a different person ... I been thinking on following Jesus..." I didnt even finish before the bathroom door swung open and Mya came stumbling out.

I rushed to help to help her "hey are you alright ?"

"Are you serious ?" She was teary eyed .. I could see that she was proud and that warmed my heart.

"Yea ma.." she then hugged me tightly.

"Ohhh I am so proud!! And happy! Let me tell you this is the best decision you've ever made. Ughh I am so happy for you because God is gonna work on you!!"

I laughed at her excitement... hell she was makin me excited.

"I'm sorry if I'm over doing it but I just soo happy for you" she hugs me again.

"Its okay" I laughed.

"Lemme tell you this though...its not easy.. hold on to my words babe cause you're gonna have problems and you're gonna need to have faith. God is gonna challenge you not to break but to make you stronger.

.. God already had a plan made for us. We dont come out losin .. we come out in victory. The bible says that all things work for our good. You are gonna be so strong and wise .. you are gonna impact lives and I'm gonna be right by you're side" this time I hugged her.

If God had not placed her in my life.. bruh. I love her so much. I want her to be by my side forever.

I need someone like her in my life. She's already changing me. I guess its more like... God is using her..to bring me to him.. but why...?

What's so special about me that he wants me ? Why does he love me ? I mean I made so many wrongs. I dont get it and I don't just wanna put it aside I wanna find out why.

"Aight ma" I kissed her forehead. I helped her up. "Teach me how to pray ma"

"You go on your knees and you talk to him however you're comfortable without being disrespectful"
So i did just that,helping her do the same .

"Then you tell everything you mean or what you're going through "

"Alright I'm bout to start na , dont laugh" i looked at her before closing my eyes again.

"Father in the name of Jesus!!" Mya busted out laughing . She was teaching me how to pray but i kept fooling around.

"August stop playing" she pushed me playfully . I laughed. I love to make her laugh.

"We going do this seriously now" i nodded and tried again " Hesus -" thats all it took before she was laughin again.
"I aint even say nothing yet "
"I know i'm sorry , i cant help it , what is yo problem. " She took deep breaths before getting ready to try again.

"Okay I'm ready . Okay remember pray about whats important to you" i nodded. "Got it"

"Dear heavenly Father , please protect my family from all harm , lord please provide our every day needs. I pray that you help me in school , help my relationship to work, in the areas that we struggle in help us to mature in that area help us to all pass this year , holla at my bro one time. Amen.

"That was really good , you can go more in detail when your at home alone , get comfortable he's always open to hear ya prayers "

After we got seated in the car . She plugged her phone in the aux cord.

I didnt mind though. "Today we goin listen to social club"

" The biscuit ?"
She laughed. "No thats their name. The Misfits"

I shook my head. Theirs always something new with this girl.

"What's so legit about 'em ?"

"Well they're Misfits. They are very weird and crazy too but soo fun. Its almost hard to believe they're Christians some times but they are. They tell you how it is. They're real people."
I nodded. They sounded alright to me.

And like always I sit back quietly and let the song sink in.

I think by the time I turned the corner I was already lovin them.

When we reach the pizza place I see the guys were already there.

"Seee everybody there already"
"Oh hush .. we just fashionably late, stop this foolishness and come help me out" she said playfully I just shook my head. I rushed to her side to help her.

"You something else nuh"

"Ha! Dont I know" she held my hand and we started walking.

"Heyyyy broooskiie "pierrre bawled out had people lookin at him like he crazy.

"Siiiskiiee" Dennis came rushin n hugged her. "Hey back off big guy me first!" Becca said

" Haven't you heard the rule ladies first" He said making us all confused

"Den .. that was good nuh but you dissin her and ya self" Mya said gettin to laugh.

"How-ooooooh eeewww" everybody busted out laughin.

I could tell we were gonna have a great night.

as the night went along we switched topics soo much and laughed like crazy.

" Eyyy Mya I just wanted you to know that I really enjoyed going to church and I would like to come back if its alright" Reggie said then all the boys jumped in.

"When they were singin or what do yall call it ?"

" Worshipping"

" Yea when they were worshipping I got chills what that mean"

" it means that you felt the presence of the lord.. the song meant something to you ..

"you dont always have to feel he's there only when you have chills.. also when you start to feel to cry or maybe when you feel different in your heart there's plenty ways"

"Yea but Mya I got a question .. why do bad things happen to good people if God is this almighty God he'd avoid these things right ?"

" Walkin the Godly life is never easy. Jesus will challenge you into becoming a better person"

"Obviously the devil is not gonna like it ...when ever the devil sees potential he wants to get rid of it but once your with God it wont work"

"You made a way.." Mya started singin and lookin to see if his face gave it away that it was that song. Man his face lit up self.

"Yeeea!"

I dont know if he knew but the squad wasnt just singin. They were worshipping. August... August was worshippin... he was ministering.. and boyy was I shocked.

I could see that Mya was shocked in the beginning so was I . But now its awesome.

Funny how God works eh.
We started out just singin the song and now we all worshippin.

People might look at us crazy but these boys are the future Misfits.

Gosh I'm soo proud. I smiled and looked up because God was working and I was gettin excited because God is gonna change their lives completely . For the better.

Mya pov

Its time like this where I wish I could see August. He just made me fell in love with him all over again.

He was worshipping. His voice is..!!! Perfect!
Better than mines.

I couldnt believe. I got chills. He was ushering us into the presence and he was doin good.

My heart felt full and I knew. This is something August could do.
I'm already imagining it. The lord gon' use him. In more ways than one.
Save lives just by singin/ministering to others.
