IX & 10:Results of the test {Part 1}
♡︎Rachel and Alex ꨄ︎[7 months ago]
It's been two years since they confessed their feelings to each other, two and a half years of petty fights and resolving them. At that point, it was like a happily ever story, true friendships, true relationships, no unnecessary drama. It was surreal, the rush. Junior High School passed like a flash, a year later and they were going to be final year students. Life couldn't have been better.
✩Jade and Andre ♥︎{Present}
Weeks passed, Alexandre spent more time with Rachel instead of his new girlfriend. Although he did feel bad for not hanging out with her but Tori always wanted to tag along anytime they made plans. Invited or not she always found them and It was not a comfortable stay. With Rachel, it was different, although they were never hanging out alone but it brought some kind of peace and that was all he needed.
"Hey," he said on the phone smiling at Rachel as she baked with his mum and Sophie.
"Andre, are you there?" Jade voice snapped him out his stare.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. I was distracted." He said walking out of the kitchen.
"Well, you called me so what's up?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out next week Saturday?"
"I don't know dude, Tori is always there and it's really weird."
"Maybe you should stop inviting her." He suggested rolling her eyes.
"Yes, because I'd love to have a friend around when her best friend is making out with me." She said with dripping sarcasm.
"I never--"
"You know what? Enough is enough, I'll talk to her on Monday."
"Co--"
"Well, I'll see you on Monday." She hung the phone up. Dre closed his eyes, frustrated by the constant interruption.
"This might never work." He shut his eyes and walked towards the kitchen.
☮Rachel and Mike ꨄ︎[ 7 months ago]
"Rachel, Mike. Mike, Rachel." Nathan introduced the pair in front of him with eyes on his screen. He was much taller than his brother, his dark blue eyes matched the comfy summer shirt he was wearing, the rings on his left ear made a bad impression with Rachel, his hair was also light brown which made her think he dyed it since Nathan's hair was much darker.
"Hi, I'm Mike like he said," he gave her a strained smile, stretching his hands for a handshake from Rachel, "thanks for showing me around although I find it unnecessary." He shrugged receiving a slap on the head from Nathan.
He got the feeling that she was a good girl, you know those girls that took life too seriously, they were never out there just comfortable in their little eggshell, she wore a grey top with black jeans and heels, he almost chuckled knowing that the heels were supposed to make look taller and she was wrong. Her brown eyes looked beautiful but the brunette hair was not a good shade on her, he shook his head slowly knowing they were going to get along.
"It's no big deal, it's summer school after all. It's not like I have anything better to do." She said as they shared a fake and awkward laugh.
"Yeah, you're good to go. Thanks for this Rachel, behave yourself, Mike," Nathan said walking out of the school.
With Nathan out of earshot, Mike said, "we're both seventeen which means we're not kids, so let's cut to chase, it's obvious I'm not a fan of yours and neither are you. So we'll part ways and not mention this to Nathan?"
"Deal." Rachel nodded as they shook hands and walked towards opposite directions.
✩Jade and Andre ♥︎{Present}
Their lips were locked in the empty closet, as heat from their stomachs to their chests. She moved closer to him, a hand in his hair and the other roamed under his shirt. With racing heartbeats and curled toes, they were lost in the heat of the moment.
"There you are!" She barged in the closet.
"Did you guys ever date?" Jade asked getting off his lap.
"No." He mumbled rolling his eyes.
"A situationship?" She turned facing Tori whilst packing her hair.
"No..." Tori said shrugging.
"So what's up?" She said switching her tone to a cold one.
"I'm sorry, do I make you guys uncomfortable?" Tori asked chuckling.
"That's not what we're trying to say," Dre said slowly trying not to upset anyone.
"Hold up a minute, that's exactly what we're trying to say," Jade shrugged mouthing incoherent words at Dre before moving closer to Tori, "I mean I love you girl, but you show up whenever we're hanging out or in middle of things and I'm not excluding weekends."
Tori gritted her teeth angrily before saying, "Why are you getting so upset about this? It's not like you guys are official!" She walked out of the closet not without slamming the door behind her.
"She definitely had or has something for you." Jade shook her head staring at the door.
"Nope, she's just a protective about me. I mean she was the first person that listened to me after Rachel and I broke up. That's how we became friends."
"Hmm," she rubbed her chin thoughtfully.
"Don't get any ideas, she's just a good friend."
"If you think so."
"Yeah, well that was definitely a mood killer." He let out a puff rubbing his hair.
"Definitely," she chuckled picking her bag up, "I have to go now."
"To see Tristan?" He said waving his brow in a teasing manner.
"Don't be weird," She eyed him with a smile.
"I didn't say anything," He put his hands up still smiling.
"Don't think anything." Her fingers said I'm watching you as she motioned them back and forth at the both of them before leaving the room finally.
Mike and Anonymous ❣[ 7 months ago]
"You are Mike right?" The weird-looking girl in front of him asked. Her dark blue hair was messy but it looked like she didn't care, she pierced her tongue, so it was obvious she was going through her mean-girl girl phase, she was much shorter but the black wedge shoe she was wearing to match her entire black attire made her look tall as she rested on the wall.
"Who's asking?" He asked after seconds of judging her with his eyes.
"I am. I have a deal for you." She smiled at him.
"What deal?" He scoffed not paying much attention to her and walking to his next class.
"I'll pay you a hundred dollars if you can kiss someone."
"If you're setting me up with your friend, this is a desperate move and I'm not straight." He gave her a fake smile and continued walking.
"What if I made it one-fifty?" She yelled out attracting stares from some of the students.
"Where are you going to get one fifty dollars?" He scoffed as he strolled towards her, "if you have one fifty dollars, change your..." He paused looking at her from her head to her toes again, "change you, like everything you're wearing should belong in the waste bin. So change that and we'll talk, little one," He said poking her nose and walking away.
"Last time I checked your dad is till oblivious to your sexuality." She was desperate, her blue eyes said it all. Until a minute ago she had no idea he was gay, she must have taught he was kind to try such a childish move on him.
"You're getting there," he chuckled quietly and winked at her before walking away.
"What if I got you a partner?" She asked running after
"I know my worth and I'm not desperate."
"She stole my boyfriend." She said calmly with her voice breaking.
"Really?" He asked with a deadpan face, her voice looked like she was forcing it crack, her face showed no emotion, she was a bad actress even a kindergartener can see it.
"Yes and I'm serious." She said looking at the floor.
"You're wasting my time." He rolled his eyes at her lie.
"I'll keep bothering you if you don't do this, I'm very serious this time. I know you like being alone, I've been watching you for two weeks and I do know you always find a way to kill conversations with people." She faced him as he tried hard to read her face.
"Fine. Which friend of yours do you want me to kiss?" He asked as his phone sounded notifying him of a message.
"Rachel."
"I thought she had a boyfriend, do you even know her?" He scoffed.
"Look here's one fifty dollars, you guys should kiss and I'll watch." He held his palm up as she placed the money on it.
"Or so you're a sicko..." His brows were raised as he said in a sing-song voice.
"Look you really want the new Vans and it's going to be sooner than you expect it, doesn't look like Nathan is going to be getting it for soon. Does it?" She said so fast that Mike could barely keep up also because her tone went from shy to cold.
"I do need those Vans but I'm not going to wreck a relationship for Vans." He said shrugging.
"He's never going to find out, he'll probably be reading or hanging out with the twats he calls friends." She rolled her eyes.
"For the Vans," he groaned as he accepted the money, "add fifty more by the end of the week." He said stuffing the money in his back pocket as she nodded excitedly.
"So who are you beefing with, the boyfriend or Rachel?" His brows were raised as he asked.
"None, thanks for agreeing." She said walking away.
✩Jade and Tristan ♥︎{Present}
"It's odd, it was like she was jealous," Jade muttered rolling her pen on the table.
"Or maybe she's just protective like her friend said," Tristan replied rolling his eyes as he tapped on the table nervously. They sat next to each but faced the though as they chatted for they were lost in their respective thoughts.
"I'll get the root of this, I'll have to make a little bit jealous first." Tristan closed his eyes as he shook his head.
"Are you even bothered about the results?" He asked glaring and eyeing her.
"Oh yeah, when is that coming out?" She asked with a blank face.
"Today!" He yelled causing her to jump a little in her seat.
"God, calm down. I'm sure you performed well and I probably did too, cause the questions looked easy." She shrugged.
"You know what I had last year? Sixty-nine percent, you know what position I was given? 265th position." He repeated the same words he had been saying for the past two weeks.
"And look at you, you're not at the bottom of the social ladder or anything."
"Who cares about the social ladder? It's about feeling good about yourself and your entire existence." He talked like he was lecturing her.
"Why do you keep talking like my life depends on it though?" She countered back.
"Forget it," he waved her off before mumbling, "this is what I get for trying to explain to a novice."
"I'm going to have a boyfriend by this break." She said after a few minutes of silence
"What? I don't think--"
"No, not with you," she chuckled quietly, "I mean I'd love to-- like you and me--" she struggled to say as she saw his questioning face.
"Lord, you're confusing me."
He shook his head smiling before saying, "deep breath and then speak."
"Ok," she followed his instructions and then said, "there's definitely something up with Tori, so if Dre and I make it official today I'll check her reaction and we'll see how that goes."
"You're probably wrong and this just going to be a hassle."
"My instincts are hardly ever wrong, I'll text Dre." She finalized pulling her phone out to text him.
"THE RESULTS ARE OUT!" A girl screamed running into the class to fetch her phone.
"Come on, let's go." She stood up excitedly, a little part of her was never about the results.
"Please sit," he motioned for her to take a seat with two of his fingers, "You check your results on the portal, you'll use your email and your password is probably your surname since this the first time you're using it but I advise you to change it after checking to avoid you know..."
"Wait it's not going to be on the wall? Your social existence is still intact."
"It's not about your social existence!" He snapped at her, letting a breath of frustration out, "Just check your result online." He said calmly as he brought out his phone, she glared at him but complied.
"What's your percent?" He asked about two minutes later.
She gave him a sad look and watched his face fall before stretching her hand to stare at her fingers before summoning the most smug voice she knew, "I had Sixty five." She smirked patting her hair.
"Wow! Wow! Wow!" Shocked was an understatement about his reaction to the score.
"Stop acting so shocked, I'm a freaking genius." She laughed loudly making Tristan laugh along with her.
"What was your score?" She asked after they stopped laughing.
"Well, it's nothing compared to your genius score." He smiled rubbing his face.
"Be seri--"
"84 percent."
"Are you joking? Well, now I feel dumb." She said as she playfully glared at him.
"Don't feel dumb," he placed her palm on his, "you're the only person I know that didn't take this test seriously and still came out with above sixty so flaunt it--"
"You take life too seriously," she threw her arms around this body, "congrats, I'm so proud of you." She rested her head in his shoulder smiling.
"IT'S ON THE WALL!" A boy came in the classroom to scream this time but ran out quickly.
"We've seen the results, why are they still rushing?"
"Positions." He said simply gesturing her to stand up.
"If you know your percentage it's easier to locate your name."
"Oh." She nodded as she followed him to the hallway.
"You had about Sixty, so..." He searched the papers looking for the one that contains her percent, "your surname?"
"Ademi." She let out as the crowd crushed into them.
"They really need to learn how to keep their distance." She glared at the oblivious girl standing close to her.
Tristan stood on his tiptoes as he searched for her name on the poster, Jade held his hand and stood beside hoping she doesn't die due to too much heat and body contact.
"There it is, 298. A perfect number." He smiled ruffling her hair.
"Let's check mine, hopefully, I'll make it to 100. Stay close." He said dragging her through the swarm of people.
"That was mortifying." Her perfect bun now stuck out everywhere, she was thankful she wore long sleeves today. She turned her head to look at the bustling students, Alexandre and his friends were two rows away from them as they checked the same paper for their positions. RRachel'sfingers were crossed as she waited for Max and Alex to find their results.
"100. Exactly 100." Tristan's happy voice snapped her back to reality.
"Congrats." She grinned at him as he dragged her out of the sweaty crowd.
"Hey, you," Alex greeted with his brows raised teasingly.
"Hey me, check your phone," Jade smiled shortly at him and his friends.
Dre pulled his phone from his pocket and dragged her away from their friends with a small smile atter seeing her text messages.
"Hey you, what was your percent?" Jade asked smiling.
"Ninety-one percent, what is this?" He showed her text on his phone screen.
"Oh that, my instincts are telling me things," She pouted lazily staring at the dark shades under his eyes, "you look like a bear."
"I trust Tori, she's one of my closest friends and I'd like it to remain that way." He told her sternly.
"If you trust her so much, then let's try it out. I mean I can't say I'm right but I just want to know if she likes you then you guys can live happily ever after and I'll be like, I made them." Her lips curled up as she looked lost in her imaginations.
"I don't like Tori and if whatever you are thinking ends up been true, it will cause a strain in our friendship and that's the last thing I want." He let out, his hand going through his messy hair.
"I'll do it anyway, if you deny it, you'll look stupid and if it blows out of proportion, we'll break up a week later," she shrugged walking away from him.
"Wait," he jogged towards her, "what about Tristan? Are you even thinking about him?" She scoffed at his attempt to convince her.
"Tristan and I are fine, we're not dating..."
"Yet." He added.
"Whatever, if you're worried about Rachel, then you can tell her." She patted his shoulder before strutting towards their friends.
"I'm not worried." He yelled at her retreating back earning a thumbs up from her. He watched her smile at Rachel and watched their mouths move before smiling and walking towards them.
