12-The beginning of the end

The worst feeling you can have is probably a first break up. The numbness, the inability to feel especially when it was not a mutual break up. You'll probably think of not dating again till you're twenty-nine. A year later, you'll probably meet another person, then another breakup. Either way, the psycho continues. Breakups are inevitable, heartbreak is inevitable, no matter how much you love someone, you'll end up hurting the person intentionally or not.

When a partner cheats, you're told to stay away from the person, you know the saying, a cheater will always be a cheater. You're told the person is toxic for your mental health, they'll pat your back and say, "you'll find someone else, someone who truly understands you, someone who values you." They lied.

"I love you, you know that right," she laid on his chest smiling as he pecked her lips.

"I love you more--" Alexandre ended the video with a sigh. He couldn't ask himself where all went wrong, he should have trusted his best friend, he should have paid attention to little details.

"Man, you look worse than the actual break up," Max strolled into the room with his hands in his pocket.

"I mean Rachel is doing fine, actually happier than I've seen her in a while," Ray was licking in his fingers when he walked in the room with Max, his face was covered in chocolate as he gave Alex a cheeky smile, "I'm just glad we don't have to be secret friends again, I do think she's worried about you," Ray said immediately Max pulled the curtain, allowing fresh air and light in the darkroom.

"You guys should leave," Alex groaned shoving his face in the pillows, his brown hair was messy but his room was messier. Pizza boxes, dirty clothes, used plates, plastic cups, you name it. Max shoved some of the clothes on the floor out the way before pulling the sheets off Alex's body.

"You can't keep ignoring us, it's been three days and we did try to tell you but you never pay attention to small details," Max dragged the pillows from Alex before throwing them on the floor with his clothes whilst Ray recorded them with his phone.

"You guys could have told me, I feel so stupid," Alex frowned sitting upright, he stared at his two friends, Ray had a white baggy sweater on, his now blue hair was not gelled allowing it to fall on his deep brown eyes. Max rested on his lamp post, he wore a black long-sleeved top with his light-colored jeans, his grey hair was messy and still looked good.

He definitely could have picked one or two things, they never allowed Chloe to breathe next to them or any girl he has been with, nor have they ever called Rachel hot or frowned when they see her smiling with Mike. His stomach turned making him lay on his bed in disappointment. Where did the dumb thought even come from, oh right, Chloe, she was the first person he was with after the breakup, was he vulnerable or did he actually want to do it?

"So you want to live in your room forever?" Max folded his arms, "even your sister told us she's tired of you already."

"She's just tired of doing the chores," Alex groaned and laid on the bed again not without snatching his sheets from Max, "go away!"

"Wow, you're even worse than girls," Ray finally said shoving his phone in the back pocket, "I can't watch this pity case, I'm going downstairs to get more cake." He rolled his eyes before stomping out of the room.

"He's so rude." Alex rolled his eyes before getting comfortable on his bed.

"Rachel is on her way," Max said nonchalantly with a shrug.

Alex got up almost immediately, "Don't mess with me, bro." He said making Max blink as a reply, he knew Max never repeated his words, if he says something once and you didn't understand, forget about it.

Alex got up from his bed, placing the clothes on the floor in his closet, "are those clothes neat?" Max asked looking away from his phone.

"Who cares?" He sat on the floor, using his legs to shove the clothes further in the closet, "can you help with the plates?"

"No." Max ended the conversation by walking out of the room, calling his girlfriend on his way out leaving Alex to clear his room in a span of thirty minutes.

Alex sat down on the couch pinching his palm nervously, waiting for the bell to ring whilst Max and Ray played call of duty on the game station, "are you sure she's coming?" Alex asked for the umpteenth time.

"You talk too much," Max groaned, trying to beat Ray but loosing without an ounce of dignity.

The bell rang minutes later, making Alex jump from his before pacing around the sitting the room, he snatched the keypad from Ray, "please get the door," he pleaded to Ray rubbing his hands through his hair, "how do I look?" He turned to Max with a smile earning a glare from him.

"Welcome to the castle, your king has been waiting for you since forever!" Max and Alex froze as they heard Ray's booming words.

"You're right, Max. This should be fun," Sophie walked into the sitting room, passing a bowl of popcorn to Max and eating one.

"Hey," Rachel stood by the entrance, with Ray grinning beside her.

"Hi," Alex replied as Max and Sophie just shoved their popcorns in their mouth.

"Can I talk to Alex?" Rachel asked the three staring at them with crazy eyes, "Privately?" She asked as Alex rolled his eyes and motioned for her to follow him into the room.

"I'm sorry about everything again," Alex started saying, after minutes of sitting in total silence.

"It's cool..." She said letting silence reign as she played with edges of his bed.

"Oh k, do you want to say something?" He asked expecting an apology too, he wasn't the only one to blame, yes, he was at fault but she also took part in it.

"Like?"

"An apology?" He squeezed one eye and raised a brow in response.

"There's really nothing to apologize for..." She shrugged.

"I'm sorry, is this ALL my fault?" He asked with wide eyes.

"Pretty much, the one time Alex. The one time I needed you to trust me you were gone, your mum called to ask me what happened because she knows I can't do something like that, Max, Ray, everybody listened to me except the one person I needed," Her eyes were glassy and her voice was cracking, "I kept telling everyone, don't worry, he's going to call, he trusts me. Barely a week later, I heard Chloe talking about how you chased her out of bed."

"Chloe lied, I didn't chase her out of bed--"

"That's not the point!" She took a deep breath before saying, "you don't get it, at all."

"What was I supposed to do? I'm sorry, I found my girlfriend kissing another in the secluded part of the school, what was I supposed to think? Oh, maybe they're trying to get back at someone?!" He stood up from the bed outraged, "you could have called me, let's..." He took a breath, "... Let's assume, I wasn't there, let's assume you actually caught the girl, were you ever going to tell me?"

"I was! I was going to tell you, Mike said it would be weird if I told you that I was kissing--"

"Let me stop you right there, Rachel. How were you going to tell me, Rachel?" They were closer to each other's face now, "I kissed this guy and I found the girl who wanted to wreck our relationship, isn't that amazing?" He mimicked her with a high pitched voice, walking away from her.

"I can't believe you're trying to pin this on me!" Rachel said with a frown, "I'm not the one that actually cheated, we didn't even break up before you became a player, you know what? Maybe it's time for an official breakup."

"Maybe it is," He used his thumb point at the room's door.

"Great talk." She grabbed her bag, walking towards the door.

"Hey Rachel," he called out after taking a deep breath to calm down with a small smile, "I'm sorry about Chloe and for not listening to you after I saw you know..."

"It's fine, I'm sorry I went ahead with Mike's stupid plan and for not telling you anything." She smiled back.

"It's cool, I kinda overreacted," He chuckled quietly, "so friends?"

"Friends." She agreed before walking out of the room.

Alexandre grinned and jumped on the bed, burying his face in his pillows to hide his red cheeks. If anything, he was thankful that she agreed to be his friend, nothing was going to back to normal. Their friendship might be strained for some days but at least they were no words left unsaid.

Four weeks later:

Alexandre paced around the room nervously, waiting for his sister to bring the right flowers, so far he and Rachel had spent all their time together, they've only argued about petty things and that was perfect. It was almost like old times but just with misplaced feelings.

"I got it!" Sophie barged into the room with a flower bouquet, her brown hair was all over the place as she rested on her knees to catch her breath.

"You're two minutes late," He grabbed the bouquet from her, sniffing it whilst Sophie stared at him in disbelief.

"A thank you would be nice." She slammed the door behind loudly, stomping downstairs.

He took a breath before rushing downstairs, grabbing his cars keys, he yelled, "thank you, Sophie," to Sophie before rushing out of the house.

The road was free, thanks to the weekend, the wind blew his hair as he sped past numerous cars, according to his plan, he was two minutes late. He rushed into Max's house, carefully placing the bouquet on the table.

"Hey, sorry I'm late," He said to May, Ray, Carter, and Mike with a smile.

"No problem, she's not here yet," Mike stepped away from the happy birthday poster, "thanks for inviting me after everything, man." Mike stretched his hands politely to which Alex shook.

"It's the least I can do after everything and you're also my friend's boyfriend." He used his head to point at Carter.

"If I'm not bored of this," Joyce, Max's girlfriend, sat on the stairs eating some of the birthday cookies.

"You can't eat those," he walked towards her, snatching the tray from her, "help with other stuff?"

"Mhmm, mhmm." She shook her head with a smile before pulling her phone out, "The poster is tilted, Mike." She called out after seconds of getting stared at by Alex.

"It's good enough." He shrugged, taking the tray to the kitchen.

The boys moved the chairs and placed the decorations carefully in the angles of the large parlor. One angle was decorated with balloons, balloons placed scattered on follows leaving space in the middle for gifts. Another angle had the balloons tied to a string which was perfectly hung above the drinks. A big poster that had the writing plus one on it was hung on the wall, which was the first thing anyone entering the parlor saw, next to it was a welcome back poster which was literally the whole theme. Glitters were on the floors along with the spare balloons.

"Hello?" Jade greeted walking in with Tristan's hand on her waist.

"How did you get in?" Ray asked, almost falling from the couch laying on.

"I left the door open," Max replied, pointing at the section for gifts lazily.

Thirty minutes later, the house was almost packed with over forty students, most came with dates, while the rest came happily with their friends. The crowd danced happily to the beats whilst wearing their unique attire.

"She's here!" Someone yelled rushing into the hallway.

She walked in slowly with her long black hair falling just above her waist, her black eyes were wide as she faked surprise, Alex and Max knew Ray must have told her because her gasp was too dramatic. Her tall frame gently touched balloons as people started hugging her and smiling at her.

"Alex!" She screeched hugging him tightly.

"Hey, pearl." he chuckled quietly, hugging her back, "ok, you can let go now."

"Max!" She flew away from him, slapping Max's hand away before pulling pilling into a hug.

"Thanks for offering to bring to her," Alex smiled at Rachel, before finding his shoes way more interesting to look at.

"Are you kidding, we had a lot to talk about on our way," She gushed, avoiding eye contact by staring at Pearl.

"DJ! We need a slow song," they heard Pearl's cheery voice call out, "We're about to get down and dirty." She laughed swaying her hips.

"Lord, I missed her," he said to Rachel, earning a chuckle from her.

"Pearl? Can I have your first dance?" He strolled towards her with a grin.

"You sure can Alex but I don't want to be your first dance," she smiled turning him back towards the direction of Rachel, "she'll be your first, Ray will be my first dance, so..." She tried to push him further towards Rachel but her thin frame didn't let her.

"Did she say something?" He whispered, grabbing pearl's wrist.

"Do I look like a snitch?" She kept her hand to her waist, squeezing her lips as she asked.

"No, you look like someone I've not seen in three years."

"Go!" She pushed him towards Rachel, he bumped into her catching her by her waist.

"Do you want to dance?" He asked sheepishly, his hands were still on her waist as he stared into her deep blue eyes with his dashing smile.

"Sure, once I can stand up." She raised her brows at him, allowing him to release her waist and stand straight.

"Sorry," he apologized to which she replied by cuffing their hands and leading him to the dance floor.

The song 'Orchid by Jeremy Zucker' played in the background as they stared at each other, scared to lose themselves again, at the end, it was filled with misunderstandings, a simple issue they could have solved with a small talk. All it took was a new girl, Jade, who thought one of his closest friends had a thing for him, without her wrong instincts, they would have probably grown on each other but they can never be this close again. Their simple world was crashed by a misunderstanding.

"Do you want to go out for dinner, tomorrow?" He asked unsure of what she was going to say, "I'd like to make everything up and start afresh, it's not a big deal if you doing want to, I mean I don't--"

"Yes," she chuckled quietly, "I'd love to." She smiled, biting her lips. It happened in a flash, their lips locked, eyes were shut as their lips moved together like a lost sync. This time they were going to trust each other, communicate better, and love each other more without any care in the world.

I'm still bad at kissing scenes 😂, well it's been a long journey 🤭 and I'm finally done with FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF A PLAYER! Do you guys like the ending or was it bad? I don't know. I'm actually going to do a Q and A, so you can drop questions or anything here---->>

AND if there are no questions, I'm still going to do a Q and A with the cast so...🧗‍♀️ You'll get to know Pearl and Joyce better in the Q and A. So wait for it. It will probably take days ❤. It feels nice hitting that complete button🤭
