zach sang interview

tw— mentions of suicide/death, and depression 

" HI! i'm maisie moore and i'm here at the zach sang show to talk about my upcoming album! thank you so mach for having me!" maisie exclaims, readjusting herself on the brown leather couch.  

" thank you so much for being here," zach replies, " so you recently announced your second album this is what it feels like, which will be coming out in december. how would you say this album is different than your first, minor?" 

" well, i feel like this album is a lot more mature than my first. while i'm still very proud of my first album i feel like this one is definitely more me." 

" you also said that your boyfriend, timothee chalamet, inspires a lot of your music. how did you guys meet?" 

maisie let's out a giggle before saying, " we met back in 2017 through a mutual friend. we exchanged numbers. i had just gotten out of a long term relationship, so i left him in the talking stage for a while. but in august 2018, he asked me to be his girlfriend." 

" so you guys, just celebrated your two year anniversary, right? did you do anything special?" zach's cohost, dan zolot, chimes in. maisie looks down, as she's still slightly upset with timmy for missing their dinner date. 

" we actually didn't really do anything special. we kinda kept it lowkey." 

" so back to your album, when you were writing it, which song really stood out to you as your favorite?," zach queries  changing the subject as maisie nods along to what he is saying.

" well i feel like personally my favorite is a song called augusta," maisie replies, " though i don't think it will be the fan favorite." maisie adjusts her top, which is yellow and reads ' my heart gets a kick out of soccer' paired with her favorite blue low rise jeans. 

" why don't you think that would be the fan favorite?" dan asks adjusting his mic. 

" i'm honestly not sure, i think that my favorite on the album is always different than what the fans like."

" do you find yourself getting nervous when coming out with new projects?" 

" i definitely used to get super nervous," maisie begins, " i used to worry that people weren't going to like what music i put out. now, i still definitely get nervous, but i'm also super excited for the music i've been working on for months to be out there for people to hear."  maisie shrugs. 

" if you weren't a musician, what would you want to be doing?" zach asks. 

maisie pauses for a second before she says, " i think i'd either want to be a teacher or nurse. when i was younger, i always wanted to be a singer, but i definitely went through phases where i wanted to be a teacher or nurse. i mean i started making music when i was in highschool, but i never expected for it to become this." 

" well you definitely deserve it, because you are so incredibly talented. i like asking a lot of the people that come here what their favorite part of their job is, so what's yours?" 

" i love everything about my job, but my favorite part is making people happy," maisie starts, " the other day,  i was at the grocery store, and this girl came up to me and she was like ' i just wanted to tell you that your music saved my life.'  i've never really had someone say something like that to me so it really shocked me." 

" how did that make you feel?" dan asks maisie.

" it made me feel really weird to be honest. my whole childhood i struggled with depression," the freckled girl continues, " and music was a way for me to feel understood and less..well alone.  having someone else say that to me, about my music is absolutely insane." 

" now for some more questions on the fun side, i'm sure a lot of people have a crush on you, but who's your celebrity crush?" 

 maisie laughs, " thank you but no one has ever said that to me. but my celebrity crush is probably," maisie feels her cheeks warm up, turning a bright shade of red, " andrew garfield." 

" you were kind of in that era of his spider-man movies. i was already an adult when those came out," zach adds. 

" yeah, i was like seventeen when his second movie, came out, but i still love his version of spider-man." 

" what do you think of tom holland's version of spider-man?" dan asks.

" i really like tom's version. i've known him for a while and he's the sweetest person ever, and he's incredibly talented."

" you do know a lot of actors, would you ever want to be in that industry." 

" probably not. it seems like a lot of work, and even with my music there are deadlines on what i make, but i cant imagine having like six weeks to make a movie." 

" last but not least to finish up our interview; what would you like to say to your fans?" 

" to my fans i want to say thank you. i wouldn't be here without you, and you guys have completely changed my life. please stream 'this is what it feels like' when it comes out! thank you and i love you!" 

" thank you so much for coming here maisie, and i'm so excited to see your new projects." 

" thank you for having me!"
