RAVEN WAS SCRAMBLING to get The Ark to answer her on the radio, but with the storm and the terrible frequency, it didn't look like we would reach them too soon. Clarke and Raven were getting too worried, they were too attached to Finn to get anything done with a clear mind and steady hands.
Harlai walked over to Clarke who stood beside an unconscious Finn. She didn't know much about that kind of stuff, but she would help in anyway she could. She gently took Clarke's shaking hand into her own, earning an appreciative look.
"Can anyone hear me?" Raven said for about the hundredth time into the speaker on the radio.
Everyone's heads quickly turned to the radio once a voice replied. "This is a restricted channel. Who is this? Please identify yourself."
Clarke rushed to Raven's side and so did everyone else, crowding around her. People pushed past Harlai who tried to get to the front, but that was everyone's idea as well. She huffed quietly and decided to step back since she could hear everything anyways.
"This is Raven Reyes. I'm from mecha station." Raven responded immediately. "I-I'm transmitting from the ground. The hundred are alive. Please, you need to get Dr. Abby Griffin. Dr. Abby Griffin, now."
Harlai noticed Clarke send Finn a worried glance, so the dark haired girl went back to his side.
"Hang on, Raven. We're trying to boost your signal." Then a few moments later, a different voice sounded from the radio. "Raven, are you there?"
Harlai's eyes brightened as did Clarke's when they realized who it was. Abby Griffin. The blonde immediately grabbed the radio from Raven. "Mom? Mom, it's me."
"Clarke?"
"Mom, I need your help." Clarke said after pausing for a few moments. Harlai couldn't tell if the tears in her friend's eyes were from happiness of talking to her mother or of worry from Finn probably about to die. "One of our people was stabbed by a grounder."
"Clarke, this is the Chancellor. Are you saying there are survivors on the ground?"
"Yes." Clarke nodded her head as if Jaha could see her. This moment was one that Harlai was waiting for. Everyone on The Ark would know that they could live on The Earth and it would save all of their lives. Well, the remaining lives. "The Earth is survivable. We're not alone."
It took a few moments for anyone to talk on the other end after that response. They needed the new information to sink in.
They didn't have long with Finn and Harlai could tell as Clarke looked to him. "Mom, he's dying. The knife's still in his chest."
"Okay, can you patch me through to medical?" Abby asked Sinclair from their side.
"Clarke, is my son with you?" Jaha asked.
Harlai grimaced as she thought of Wells. He was one of the unlucky ones. The worst thing about it was that his death was not from a grounder or an animal from Earth, but from one of their own. One they lost as well.
"I'm so sorry." Clarke responded and she looked down. "Wells is- Wells is dead."
There was another short pause. Jaha was obviously stunned as well as anyone else in the room with him. Most of the hundred were alive, but his son was not. "Clarke needs you." Jaha finally spoke, obviously to Abby. "Patch her in to me when you're finished."
A moment later, Abby's voice came back through. It was hard to hear what she was saying due to the rough storm disrupting their service. "I'm gonna talk you through it step by step." Clarke was back at Finn's unconscious side, Harlai close beside her just in case she needed to step in and take over.
Harlai let out a quiet gasp as the dropship rocked with the violent wind, making her stumble a bit. Her balance was already out of wack with her possible concussion.
"Clarke, give five- to medical- medic-" Abby's voice was going in and out, making Raven shake her head and begin fumbling around with the radio.
"What?" Clarke asked as she began to walk over. "Raven, what's wrong?"
"It's not the radio." Raven had to almost shout to Clarke. "It's the storm."
"Clarke, we need to hurry."
Octavia came inside the dropship, soaking wet from head to toe carrying to large cups. She gave them to Clarke who opened one of them and sniffed inside. She made an 'ugh' sound and shook her head. "Monty's moonshine?"
"Pretty sure no germ can survive it." Octavia replied, making Harlai quietly chuckle. She earned a few looks. It obviously wasn't the time to laugh, but she couldn't help it. Those black spots began to cloud her vision and she began to stumble a little. No one seemed to notice, though. Clarke's attention was on Finn while Raven messed with the radio.
"The storm's getting worse." Clarke grumbled.
"Thanks, Captain Obvious." Harlai giggled and she plopped her butt down onto the hard metal floor.
"Did you get into Monty's moonshine?" Octavia asked as she shared the same confused look with Clarke. Then Clarke's eyes flickered slightly upwards to Harlai's forehead wound. Harlai's stitches began to undo themselves, maybe from the constant shaking of the ship, and blood began to trickle down the side of her face.
"Octavia, Harlai might have a concussion. Go make sure she's lying down and she has lots of water." Right as Clarke began barking orders, Octavia immediately went to Harlai's side. "Monroe, close the doors."
"You're great and all, Tavia, but I would much rather have your babe of a brother helping me out instead." Harlai laughed as Octavia snatched a jacket from the hands of a boy beside them.
Rolling her eyes, Octavia balled up the jacket and put it on the floor only to push Harlai gently so her head was resting on it. "Yeah, yeah, yeah." She muttered as she chuckled quietly. "You seem to have taken a liking on my older brother, huh?"
"It's not my fault." Harlai could feel her eyes growing really heavy as she pouted and her head began to fall to the side. "No man should be as handsome and kind as he is. No matter how much he tries to fake that meany act he puts on."
"Nah, he's just an asshole." Octavia looked around to find some cloth to stop her bleeding. Not finding anything quickly enough, she just tore the bottom of Harlai's shirt just as she did to Jasper a few days before. Balling it up, Octavia pressed it hard to Harlai's head.
"A cute asshole." Harlai muttered as her eyes began to flutter shut.
Octavia laughed only to have the sound die out as darkness began to devour Harlai once again. "N-No, Harlai don't..." Her voice was drowned by the silence that took her over, coupling with the complete darkness. A duo that scared the shit out of Harlai.
