CLARKE KNEW THAT SHE HAD TO HEAL HARLAI. The brunette was one out of a handful of people who was on her side and plus, she was one of her friends from The Ark. She wrung out a wet cloth and she began to wipe away dried blood from the young woman's cheek who laid unconscious in the drop ship.

The blonde was surprised at the way Bellamy acted when he found out that Harlai had been hurt. First, he was more worried about Octavia of course, but she was okay. Harlai was probably going to die. She let out a soft sigh as she set down the cloth, her eyes flickering to the floor where Finn's little two headed deer sat. A small smile curled her lips which rarely ever happened, ever since she lost her father.

That night was when Harlai began to groan loudly, annoying everyone inside and out of the dropship. Clarke was beginning to get worried as the delinquents began to shout things at her because none of them were getting sleep. The blonde sighed softly and she stood up from her place beside Harlai who continued to moan in pain.

"I'm gonna get clean water." Clarke said as she looked over at Monty and with it seeming like he liked her she said, "Keep an eye on her."

Monty nodded his head and as Clarke went down the ladder, he crawled over to sit beside Harlai, wincing as she groaned louder. He grimaced, seeing how her forehead was crinkled and her eyebrows furrowed showing that she was in pain.

The next morning was worse. People were growing tired of Harlai's loud moans of utter pain, but they weren't really acting on it because they thought she was about to die. But that girl was holding on. She had to stay alive for her mother, she was all Elise had left.

Subconsciously, Harlai knew that Clarke was doing everything in her power to get her back. Along with the pain of the poison slicing through her veins, she felt extra pain, probably from Clarke healing her. She would float in and out of consciousness, hearing only a few words before falling back into darkness. The last thing she heard was Bellamy saying that she was a lost cause. All she knew was that she was going to beat his ass when she came back to.

When Harlai finally did wake up, she realized that she was in less pain than before. Had Clarke actually healed her? That's when she heard voices, Monty's in particular after hearing him drink something.

"Smooth." He said after letting out a few coughs, handing the drink over to Octavia.

Her, Monty, Finn, and Jasper were sitting a bit away from Harlai to make sure no one came to try and hurt Harlai. After the incident with Murphy, Clarke told them that they didn't need to leave her alone. Someone had to be with her at all times.

"Disgusting. I love it." Octavia spoke as she swallowed the burning liquid, handing it over to Finn.

Before the long haired boy could take a sip, Harlai seemed to have found her voice, surprising them all. "Can I get a hit of that?" Her raspy voice spoke up, everyone turning their heads to look at her.

"Harlai!" Monty said as they all shot to their feet and Finn grabbed a bag of water.

"Let's start with the soft stuff." Finn said with a quiet chuckle. He placed a hand under her head to gently help it up a bit so that she could get a sip of it.

Jasper looked down at her with a small, relieved smile. He had been a wreck ever since Harlai got hurt, mostly because he almost jumped in to swing across the river. That could have been him. "I'm glad you're okay, Shorty."

"Hey, get your own nickname." Finn told Jasper with a light laugh, making Harlai laugh as well. She winced a bit as pain began to vibrate through her chest.

"Was that a dream or did I get impaled?" Harlai weakly asked the group with a small smile, her eyes fighting to stay open. She was exhausted even though she was in and out of consciousness for two days.

"You'll have a very impressive scar to prove it." Clarke said with a happy expression as she climbed up from the hatch, walking over to Harlai with a broad smile.

Harlai glanced down at her chest and she sighed softly once she saw her boobs were still there. It must have hit right above them, but her upper chest was wrapped tightly in white wrap. "Thank God I still have my puppies."

Monty blinked and Jasper began to laugh. After that, everyone began to laugh and giggle. Harlai had to bite her lip so she wouldn't laugh, but she couldn't help but let out a few giggles of her own.

"You're my savior, Clarke." Harlai said once the laughter died down and Clarke smiled in response.

"Thank you for not dying." Clarke replied and she chuckled, but it wasn't a happy one. "I don't think I could have taken that today."

Harlai sent her a small smile, wondering what she had missed out on. "I'll try not to die tomorrow, too, if that's cool."

After she muttered those words, she could feel herself slowly drifting off, and reluctantly, too. She knew she had already missed so much, especially after being speared. There were other people on Earth that survived and they didn't want the people from The Ark there.

•••

IT HAD BEEN A WEEK SINCE Harlai went through a very near death experience. She was still scared to even walk out of the dropship, but she had to. In order to stay alive, she needed to be outside and she needed to help everyone else. She was healthy now and everyone always needed an extra hand.

The young woman walked to the ramp on the dropship and she stopped at the edge of the shadow the top provided. Her eyes flickered down to the soil, remembering the first day they made it. She was scared to leave the dropship because of what might hurt them and here she was again with the same fear.

"Hey, Sleeping Beauty. You feeling better?" A familiar and unwanted voice sounded and Harlai glanced up to see Bellamy Blake, one of the people who wanted her dead when she was at her weakest.

He looked different than the first day, the last time she had really seen him. His dark locks weren't slicked back anymore, instead they were all messy and... sexy. She just shook that thought off and trotted off of the ship and away from him.

"Yes, but no thanks to you." Harlai said with a roll of those emerald eyes.

Bellamy's dark eyebrows furrowed and he began to follow behind her. He reached out, grabbing her arm and making her flinch. Every sudden movement reminded her of that spear hurtling towards her, the spear that nearly killed her. Seeing her jump, Bellamy frowned and he dropped his hand as Harlai turned around to face him.

"What?"

"You weren't awake to see me carry you from that damned tree you were tied to as bait." Bellamy's voice was low yet booming, enough to scare someone, but not Harlai.

"I actually heard you." Harlai rose her eyebrows and she glanced away from him, not even wanting to look at him. "I also heard you calling me a lost cause. If I'm so expendable, why do you care?"

"You know I was just trying to do what's best for our people." He defended himself, making Harlai grow even more disgusted with him.

"What? Was I harming them?" Harlai looked back over to him, her lips in a snarl. She couldn't stand him. "We're out here fighting each other constantly when there's a bigger threat in the woods! You weren't there when I got speared. Whatever, whoever did it was an amazing shot. Imagine that times hundreds."

With those final words, Harlai turned on her heel and began to walk away from Bellamy Blake, leaving him speechless for once.

Harlai continued walking until she reached the edge of camp. Her eyes flickered along the walls that the people had built and she was amazed. Not only that, but they were building tents and making it actually livable. Her feet stopped where the wall ended and she looked out into the forest.

"It's been a week." Harlai mumbled to herself as if pepping herself up to go outside. "I've been given a second chance. I gotta use it, right?"

With that, she began to walk out and into the forest. A small smile appeared on her lips and she turned around just in time to see Jasper walking out.

"Hey, are you okay?" He quirked an eyebrow and he sent her a goofy smile.

"Yeah, I'm good-" She was cut off as someone grabbed her from behind a couple of large ferns. She screamed out, hearing as Jasper yelled her name. Right when he ran up to where she was pulled down, the guy that had grabbed her popped up and yelled at Jasper, trying to scare him.

Harlai batted the guy's hand away from her mouth and she pushed him away. "Jerk."

Her eyes began to fill with tears as she began to fast walk back into the camp and Jasper tried to catch up with her. "Harlai, come on. There's nothing to be afraid of."

That's when he fell over and tumbled to the ground. Harlai whirled around and saw Jasper was wide eyed, staring at something.

"Jasper, what is it-" As she walked up, she gasped once she saw he was staring at. Two fingers that had been cut off, lying on the forest's ground.

•••

CLARKE, HARLAI, JASPER, OCTAVIA, AND UNFORTUNATELY BELLAMY STOOD around a table in a tent. The fingers that Jasper found along with a knife was sitting on the tabletop. Clarke picked the knife up, turning it over in her hands as she examined it.

"This knife was made from metal from the dropship." She said as she looked up from it and to all of them.

Harlai's emerald eyes looked to the knife with a relieved expression. If it wasn't a grounder, that meant they were safe. At least for now.

"What do you mean?" Jasper asked, but Harlai felt like they all knew what it meant. Someone in their camp was a murderer.

"Who else knows about this?" Bellamy asked as he glanced over to Harlai. He was still a little shocked from their conversation earlier, and she was still furious with him.

"No one." Harlai said as she looked over to Clarke. Bellamy let out a defeated sigh once he realized that she wouldn't even look at him. "We brought it straight here."

"Clarke." Jasper softly spoke once the blonde didn't answer his question.

"It means the grounders didn't kill Wells." She said finally, a confused expression on her face.

Harlai looked to the fingers, a small frown appearing on her lips. Wells, even though he turned in Clarke's father, was a great guy. While he was on Earth, he was constantly trying to get back onto Clarke's good side. Harlai remembered how great of friends they were on The Ark and how she was jealous of that relationship they had.

"It was one of us." Clarke continued, looking over to Bellamy who made eye contact with her.

"So, there's a murderer in the camp?" Jasper asked and Harlai reached over to place a hand on his arm out of an attempt to comfort him. He sent her a grateful look, noticeably calming down. She could tell that he was still shaken up from finding Wells' fingers and then to find out that there was a killer amongst them. Harlai was even scared, especially after almost being killed herself.

"There's more than one murderer in this camp." Bellamy spoke up, referring to some of the delinquents that came down with them from their home in space. "This isn't news. We need to keep it quiet."

Clarke seemed to begin to grow angry as she turned, heading towards the entrance of the tent, but Bellamy stepped in front of her. "Get out of my way, Bellamy."

"Clarke, be smart about this." He said and Harlai left his side to walk over to Clarke's. Bellamy's eyes flickered to her angry green ones, a fire blazing behind her irises. "Look at what we've achieved--" His eyes left Harlai's so he could try and convince Clarke not to let the cat out of the bag. "The wall, the patrols. Like it or not, thinking the grounders killed Wells is good for us."

"Oh, good for you, you mean." Harlai's voice was cold, not anything like it usually was, as she stared at the dark haired man in front of them. If one were to be looking close at Bellamy, they would be able to see a flicker of emotion behind his chocolate eyes. "Just like it was good to kill me off."

"What, keep people afraid and they'll work for you?" Clarke continued as she stared up at Bellamy, but she didn't seem to be as hotheaded as Harlai. "Is that it?"

"Yeah, that's it. But it's good for all of us." Bellamy nodded his head as he only looked at Clarke. "Fear of the grounders is building that wall. And besides, what are you gonna do? Just walk out there and ask the killer to step forward? You don't even know whose knife that is."

"Oh, really?" Clarke rose her eyebrows as she turned the knife over, showing Bellamy the inside where it curved. "J.M. John Murphy. The people have a right to know." With that, Clarke stormed out of the tent, pushing past Bellamy Blake.

The taller man looked down to Harlai and he opened his mouth to say something to her, but she just pushed past him, knocking into his side as she walked out. There was no way that she would let him sweet talk her with an apology. Him and those dreamy eyes. Harlai grimaced as her mind wandered and she quickly cut the thought train off.
