Its the first chap of this short story so i dont know how good its gonna be

It was a normal morning& sun rays peeped through the window, breaking the sleep of a young girl who was curled up in her bed
She got off the bed& started getting ready for office

Breakfast table-

Girl-good morning maasi

Lady-good morning baccha
Come& have bf- its your favourite poha

The girl smiled& hugged the lady
They had bf& girl went to her office

*****

Office, lunch time-

Everyone was having lunch when random employee spoke

Employee 1-guys tumlog bore nahi hogye ye tasteless khaane se?
Office ki baki sab services theek h lekin tiffin service bilkul boring h

Employee 2-baat toh sahi h yaar
Roz roz wohi fixed menu- jese hostel ke mess ka hota h

Employee 3-haa
Aur wo bhi pheeka- dhang se spices bhi nahi daale

Employee 4-arre mujhe toh sabzi bhi aadhi kacchi lagri h

Employee 5-hume na tiffin service badalwani chahiye
Avni tu baat karke dekh na mam se
Tu humare department ki head h
Teri baat toh maan legi

When other employees also insisted, avni decided to take some action

A-ok guys
Men aaj hi baat karti hu
Par uske liye hume pehle koi better tiffin service wala company bhi dhundhna padega- taki wo service humare preference ka bhi ho, reasonable bhi ho& authorities ka time bhi waste nahi hoga agar hum pehle se hi 3/4 companies dhundh ke rakhe

Employees- haa toh theek h na
Hum apne aas paas ke logo men pata karte h
Tab tak tu official mails draft karke rakh- office authorities& unn companies ke liye bhi

A-ok

Evening-

Avni was coming back home when she saw a guy begging on side of the road
He was probably in mid twenties& looked terribly drained- as if he hadnt had anything since a week
Avni immediately stopped her car on road side
She got off the car& kneeled in front of the guy

Guy(opening his palms)-madam kuch pese dedo
Ek hafte se kuch nahi khaya

Avni went back to her car, picked the bag of snacks she got packed for neela, from a restaurant while on her way home& handed over the food to him

He opened the packet &smiled on seeing burger, chocolate muffins& juice
He immediately unwrapped the burger& started munching on it while avni smiled
She noticed that his clothes were sweaty& thats when she realized that how hot the weather was

A-yaha bohot garmi h
Aao meri car men araam se kha lo- a/c men garmi nahi lagegi

The guy was hesitant at first but after some convincing by avni, he agreed
They sat in the car& he felt relaxed in the cool atmosphere

A-tumhara naam kya h?

Guy(while sipping juice from straw)-neil

A-bohot accha naam h

Soon he had finished the burger,  muffins &juice

N-bohot bohot shukriya madam
Bhagvan zarur aapka bhale karega

Avni smiled

A-neil tum roz yehi bheek maangte ho?

N-haa madam
Par aap kyu puchre ho?

A-bas ese hi

Avni returned home& neela opened the door with a smile

Ne-baccha aaj itna late kese hogya?

A-kuch kaam tha maasi
Acha aap ek chota sa favour kar sakte ho?

Ne-bolo na bacha
Isme puchne ka kya h

A-aap apne liye roz subah tiffin pack karte ho toh ek chota steal tiffin mere liye bhi pack kardo

Ne-baccha mujhe koi problem toh Nahi h par tumhare office mein toh tiffin ki service hai na?

A-haa maasi
Par reason kuch aur h
Men aapko time aane pe bataungi

Ne-theek h
Men pack kar dungi

Avni hugged neela

A-thank you maasi

Ne-welcome baccha

Next morning-

Avni was on her way to office when she found neil begging on the street
She moved towards him& handed him the tiffin

A-pehchana?

N-haa

A-toh ab shaam tak pura khatam karna

Neil smiled widely &nodded his head positively

Avni smiled back& drove to her office

Few days went like this-

Every morning avni used to give tiffin to neil& he used to return it empty by evening
The route was slightly isolated so their werent much beggars on roadside

In avni's office, she& her colleagues used to discuss if any of them found a replacement for tiffin service

On a fine evening, avni decided to tell neela about neil

A-maasi aapne pucha tha na ke mene aapse wo extra tiffin kyu prepare karne ko bola?

Ne-haa bacha

A-maasi actually na men roz subah& shaam ek beggar ko apne office ke route pe dekhti hu
Aur subah wo kaafi baar beg karta hua bhi dikhta h
I really felt bad for him& i wanted to help him
Isiliye uske liye tiffin banwati thi
Uska naam neil h

Ne-ok
I see

A-pehle toh men sirf uske liye leke jaati thi
But pichle kuch dino se hum khana share karte h& he was really grateful to me
Hes probably in his mid twenties& looks pretty educated too
Lekin exactly kaha tak wo nahi guess kar paayi men

Ne-im proud of you baccha

A-maasi kya aapka NGO uski kuch help nahi kar sakta?

Ne-hmmm
Kar toh sakte h
But uske liye you need to bring him to us
And im sure wo nervousness ki wajah se refuse karega
So you need to win his trust

A-isiliye men usse kal baat karne wali hu
I really wish wo apne baare men bataye

Ne-patience se kaam logi toh zarur batayega

Avni nooded& both went to sleep

Next evening-

Neil smiled on seeing avni
She took the empty tiffin from him

A-neil chalo na aaj kahi ghoomne chalte h
Tumne bataya tha ke tumhe restaurant type location nahi pasand toh sirf drive pe hi chalte h?

N(nervously)-ok

A-aao
Betho

They sat in the car

A-seat belt lagao

N(confused)-kese karte h?

A-wait
Men help karti hu

Avni adjusted neil's seatbelt &drove off
They reached to a bridge from where entire city was visible

N-wow!
Bohot sundar nazara h

A-i know
tabhi toh tumhe yaha layi hu
Accha neil ek baat puchu?

N-pucho?

A-tum itne young ho toh bheek kyu aang rahe they?
Tum itne young ho- tumhe toh koi bhi job mil jayega

Neil's face went pale

N(sighing)-thats the problem with the public

Avni was surprised when neil switch to English

N-ive studied till class 12th but not graduation
I look young so people think that i can easily get a job
Mostly they pass comments that im begging bcz im lazy& im not ready to do any hard work

But to how many people i will give explanation that i actually came here in search of job
Ive come from a village which doest have a college- only school till 12th standard
We do have a field in village but usse zyada earning nahi hoti
We have to get my sister married too

I know basic cooking so when i came here, i somehow found a job at a small dhabha as an assistant chef& cleaner
I worked there for 5-7 months but recently got fired, without any fault of my own

A-oh no
But esa kya hogya tha?

N-that evening.....

Flashback-

It was end of month& everyone was going to get the salary when working hrs were over& dhabha got closed
Sethji (the owner) told me to fetch the day's income from cash counter bcz he had give our salary& had to maintain the daily accounts
I did as he ordered but a senior chefs (who was most trusted employee of sethji) saw it& thought that i was stealing money
He reported to sethji& framed me for stealing
I tried alot to prove my innocence but sethji didnt believe& fired me from the job by giving me the month's salary
The senior chef tried to convince sethji for not giving me salary but sethji gave me bcz he knew my family's condition

After that i worked at 2/3 more such places but still i couldnt get enough salary to send it my home

Flashback over

A-if you know cooking, then why didnt you apply for hotel management job?

N-i tried at every possible restaurant but everyone outright rejected me- they didnt even let me give interview bcz i dont have a degree in hotel management
Its sad that your job approval always depends on your education level- not on basis of the talent& experience you have

He sighed sadly

A-dont feel bad
I guess ive found a job for you

I know its a short update
Will try to keep next one longer
