1. {Selcouth questions} Were you always an avid reader or writer?

{Catherine answers} Yes,I was. I love to write, read, and draw. In third grade, I was known for being so absorbed in my book that I couldn't put it down! And yes, I got in trouble for that...onto the next question!

2. {Selcouth questions} How did you get the idea for your story-Every Wish Counts?

{Catherine answers} Well, after the death of one of my guinea pigs (due to old age), I had to go through this experience as a 10-year-old. It was very emotional for me.

3. {Selcouth questions} Is the theme or protagonist-Ashlynn, of your book, related to you or your life?

{Catherine answers} Yes,it is definitely related to my life. My three guinea pigs are no longer with me today, but I will love them forever.

4. {Selcouth questions} Who inspires you to write?

{Catherine answers} Well,since I was a child, I was labeled as "sensitive". I guess that I experienced a wide range of emotions and my favorite way to let it out would be in the form of words. It may sound confusing, but it was those who discouraged me who encourage me to write. However, for this story, I used my beloved guinea pigs as a source of inspiration. I know that many people around the world have lost pets, and my story is something that is relatable because I definitely understand how they feel, but there's a twist at the end because I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could write about an experience that I've never been through.

5. {Selcouth questions} In the near future, do you have plans to take your writing, to a new level?

{Catherine answers} Well, I don't know, but for now, I'll just keep writing for everyone to relate and know that there's always hope, even in the darkest of times.
