Interview-12: The Windmill's Reqieum, by Kyra_KR
The Windmill only sings when the world stops singing.
Aria's world is full of music and joyous melodies. It has no place for the Wimdmill's reqieum. But as she falls in love and life stumbles upon her, she has to realize that the world will not always be her choir.

1. {Selcouth questions} Were you always an avid reader or writer?
{Kyra answers} Reading is something I have always been keen of. I learnt to read and write even before I joined school. I used to read anything that was lying around (mostly my parents' books) until My mother got me my first Enid Blyton Novel when I was only five. And that was how my journey began. I loved how the writers would take me to dimensions far away from my little room. This developed my, already crazy, imagination. By the time I was twelve, I began writing down my first Fantasy Novel. But due to certain people in my life I stopped writing and then began again when I was fifteen. I lost my previous work but it still lies in my memories and one of these days I shall revive them again!
2. {Selcouth questions} How did you get the idea for your book-The Windmill's Reqieum?
{Kyra answers} The idea came to me pretty randomly. I still remember that night. It was the same as described in "Drift away" and I was as depressed as Aria. I remember running up to my bedroom and turning off the lights I went straight to bed. It was all dark and cold and I couldn't sleep. Thus I opened my note pad and began to write. The more I wrote, the better it felt. I had no intention writing a chapter or a book but one thought led to another and voila you have a book!
3. {Selcouth questions} Is the theme or protagonist, of your book, related to you or your life?
{Kyra answers} The happy Aria is in no way like me, although the depressed and crushed is sure me! The character that reflects my personality the most is Eric. I have put myself into him. The theme on the other hand is related to anyone who has gone through a tragedy in life, a break-up, a failed paper, a fight with your best friend etc. So yes it is in a way related to certain incidents in my life.
4. {Selcouth questions} Who inspires you to write?
{Kyra answers} That would be my childhood best friend, Enid Blyton! The amount of books she has written and the worlds she has created, always leave me in awe! Other than that it has been myself. I sort of had an attachment with the worlds inside of me and did not want them to perish with in me, thus I began to write, write and write!
5. {Selcouth questions} In the near future, do you have plans to take your writing, to a new level?
{Kyra answers} Yes, I do. For me, I don't want to avail the opportunity of self-publishing (for one thing, I'm pretty lazy!) I'd rather have a proper publisher and agent. But I have a long way to go for that dream to come true! So let's hope!
6. {Selcouth questions} How does it feel, to be the winner of The Spice Awards?
{Kyra answers} Honestly, it feels like a step towards success! For the past few months I was pretty much giving up on writing. I was losing my spark or drive to write. I randomly entered the awards, not expecting to win and forgot about it. But then one day I opened my account and there it was, my name among the top three! At first I couldn't believe it but then reality overtook me and my happiness had no bounds. It may seem like a small Award but its so much more than that! It has the combined efforts of the host Selcouth and the judges! I loved being part of it and It shall forever remain in my memories as my first win!
Thank you!
