Chapter 31

I checked my hair in my foot long mirror for the last time. I was wearing my favorite blue jeans, an oversized space jam t-shirt with a cap. Here I am going to watch a football match even though I told myself I wasn't going to another again.

"Audrey you still dropping me right?!" I yell at the top of my lungs, taking my side bag and going through my door.

"Hurry your ass up then!" He yells back, waiting impatiently at the door step. I walk down the stairs giving him a smile, as he was dropping me off the football game. Cameron asked me to go see him so I might as well. Audrey informs me before walking over to his car. Well correction his baby. His dirty ass baby to me anyways.

"You know I don't know why your little Blondie boyfriend can't drop you off. And if you think I approve your relationship with him, I don't." Audrey growls grumpily. I roll my eyes at my brother ignoring him and wave at his Smokey and Brain instead.

"Hey guys." We all exchange fist pumps and for most of the ride, they were all giving me useless pointers on dating life and also made rude remarks about Cameron, which I chose to ignore. My brother being the protective person he is, didn't like Cameron because of the party so in the future I'm going to have to make sure the Cameron doesn't come to my house when Audrey is home.

As if y'all been to each other's houses to start with. My self conscious sneers.

We park outside the school where Cameron was standing waiting for me. As I got out of the car, I grabbed hold of Cameron's arm ready to leave before the guys say anything rude but Cameron seemed to have other plans.

"Hey! I know last time didn't meet in the right circumstances but since I'm dating your sister I thought it would essential for us all to get along." Cameron says confidently. I try to hide my laugh as his posh upbringings was clearly showing but the guys didn't even bother.

"Jollie good Blondie, I feel that is essential too. It would be horrid if we didn't." Audrey says, mimicking Cameron sending Spooky and Brain in fits of laughter. I glare over at my brother who was amused by his own words. Audrey sits back in his seat, his left hand gripping the wheel.

"We should go now. Bye." I hiss at the three, dragging Cameron with me.

"I think they like me!" Cameron whispers to me. I just laugh at his cluelessness. "Whats so funny?"

"Nothing." I say under my breath. We walk over to the benches, where Ali and Tokyo were and I turn to face Cameron. "Also Natalie wanted me to tell you that she was wondering if we go on a double date? Is that ok?"

"Yeah I'm cool with that." Cameron says smiling briefly at me.

"Bye, good luck!" I wave but he takes hold of my arm pulling me towards him.

"Where's my kiss?" He gives me a small lopsided smile. I give him a confused look, glancing back. "I want everyone to know we're dating now. It's the perfect time." He looks around and I noticed that literally everyone was peering at us confused.

"Really?" I ask. He nods bringing a finger under my chin to lift it up and places his lips on mine delicately. He gives me a quick peck, before pulling away smiling. I feel the burn of people's eyes burning my back instantly.

"After I'm thinking we go on a proper date how about that?" Cameron asks looking down at me briefly. I nod at him and he gives me another grin and walks towards the pitch. I slowly turn around to see the crowd of eyes on me.

Just act as if they are not looking at you like an alien. I repeated in my head, making my way to my cheering friends.

"Melody Banks!" I hear a high pitch shriek from behind me. Unfortunately for me an enraged looking Alexis was stomping her way towards me followed by her minions. I don't bother waiting for her but the girl grabs hold on my arm to spin me around, her extra long fake nails scratching me.

"What?" I demand immediately. She gives a short laugh and then crosses her arms, looking at me up and down.

"I'm going to kill you!" She yells, making the people who weren't already staring at me look our direction. "I don't know what on earth you did to my Cam Cam but back the hell off!"

"Alexis," I say calmly, salivating every, moment, "I always knew you was a crazy, obsessed irrelevant bitch but I never knew hysterical was part of the list." I give her my finest fake sympathetic look.

"You silly bitch! I bet he doesn't even like you! So don't come up here as if you belong." She quipped, still glaring at me. Her two monkey's nod in sync. This time it was my time to give short laugh.

"I'm sorry, when did I ever tell you that I cared about your irreverent opinion?" I pretend to think, "Oh wait I never did! So fly along Alexis I really have't got the patience to pretend i like you today." Alexis turns slightly red, looking back around us and shoots me a murderous look.

"Continue acting as if you're on top of the world. Just you wait and see. I'll be laughing right in that stupid face of yours when it happens." My face contorted into a snarl. What kind of gibberish this self absorbed bitch talking about now?

"Be gone thotina." Tokyo leered. Alexis shots daggers at the two of us and we go take our seats. "Always count on that girl to ruin anybody's day. just ignore her." Tokyo rolled his eyes. I nod. When it happens? Trying not to overthink what she said since Alexis was the one that said it I take my seat.

Alexis stomps noisily with her heels down the stairs before being dragged to the side by Cameron. Relieved that he will talk some sense into her.

I struggled to sit still for most of the game, but I noticed throughout the game our school wasn't playing that good. And this is coming from someone who knows absolutely nothing about football.

But what was most recognizable was Teeshay's performance it was lacking. By the time it was half time, I get up to get a few more food for Ali and as I walk down to meet with Natalie, there was a group of people, mostly cheerleaders and football players surrounding.

"OMG!" Natalie yells as she rushes over to me. I look at her alarmed and she points into the crowd, a few others taking notice of my presence.

"Melody go calm down Teeshay please, him and Cameron are having an argument and it's not looking pretty."

"Really, what now?!" I follow Natalie, pushing through the crowd and there the two were, in a heated argument.

"You're doing this on purpose! Listen I ain't got time for your little games!" Teeshay yelling in Cameron's face, but Cameron shoves him back. This make the crowd, being the shit stirrers that they are, coo in unison.

"Why don't you focus on the game instead-" I step in between Cameron and Teeshay determined for them not to kill each other now.

"Can y'all not do this now, lets calm down-" I offered, an attempt to calm everything.

"Let's go Melody, I haven't got time for your temper tantrums Rivers!" Cameron spits bitterly, taking hold of my arm. I look back at Teeshay but he only sneers at Cameron, not bothered to chase after him.

"Trust me, you will regret going out with that bastard!" Teeshay bellowed after us. I spin around at his words and our eyes lock. In that moment it was as if someone has blocked all the noise around us. His tone was angry but his voice was as if he was warning me. His brown orbs burning into mine, pushing me to my limits. I stayed there speechless.

"Melody." Cameron's voice is heard from behind me as he tugs at my sleeve. I tore my eyes away from Teeshay's and allow Cameron pull me away. I stayed in silence and Cameron thankfully takes me behind the bleachers away from the noise and drama. I just want to go home.

"Gosh, sorry you had to see that." Cameron takes off his helmet and rushes a hand through his hair roughly.

"What happened between you and Teeshay." I say quietly staring in the distance where Bruce was calming Teeshay down.

"Why are you asking all of sudden. Just simple team riveray." Cameron says quickly, as if he was trying to brush off the matter.

"I'm not an idiot Cameron. Plus you guys are on the same team." I say finally looking at him. "I feel like every time you two are getting me involved in your stupid disputes, so I have the right to know whats going on. It's getting tiring." I say monotonously. Cameron sighs leaning back against the white bleaches behind us.

"Well," He begins, stopping shortly before continuing. "We've known each other for a long time, me and Teeshay." I nod, listening eagerly. I couldn't help but notice this is the first time he has said Teeshay's name. "We used to be at the same football academy and everything, so we played on the same team. He used to have a crush on this girl, but turns out she liked me instead. So we ended up dating and Teeshay was jealous. He's always been holding this against me thats all." He suddenly stops talking. I lean back alongside Cameron, taking all he said in. It was weird to me that all of this is because of a girl.

"Were you and Teeshay close?" I ask curiously. Cameron nods into the distance as if all the memories were resurfacing.

"You could say that." He quickly checked his watch. "I gotta go back soon anyways." I felt like this was only part of the actual story but it was good to know a bit of what happened between the two. I remember when Cameron mentioned a friend introduced him to football.

"Was Teeshay the friend that introduced you to football." Cameron's face quavered for a second.

"Yes. Look I can we just stop talking about this whole situation, I need to go. And whatever he tells you about what happened, it's a lie trust me. He's just embarrassed." Cameron gives me a small lopsided grin before stalling off leaving me in deep thought.
