Chapter 28

I checked what lesson I had next which was bio unfortunately since we were doing a mini test on it. Closing my locker I quickly answered my text from Natalie who was begging me to send a picture of the maths homework.

I walked on through the hall, until a hand tightly gripped on my arm and pulled me to the side.

I screamed in surprise as the person pulled me near the water fountains behind a few lockers. I turned around alarmed to find an amused looking Cameron.

"Your face!" He says laughing. I fold my arms smiling. "Priceless!"

"Trying to give me a heart attack?" I pulled an annoyed look at him. After he calms down, he continues.

"Sorry, just wanted to talk with you." He gives me his award-winning colgate smile and I roll my eyes in defeat.

"Sure what about," I say leaning back on the cool lockers.

"Did you think about your answer yet?" He looks down at his feet instantly, making me feel suddenly awkward as I remembered what happened at Natalie's party.

"Oh, well-" I began but quickly got cut short by Cameron.

"Oh it's fine if you just want to be friends, I understand." He mutters quickly.

"Well maybe if you let me finish and not jump to conclusions I can answer?" I smile at him, he looks up a light shade of red forming on his face.

"Sorry, continue."

"Sure why not, let's try," I respond slowly. I didn't know how I was going to get comfortable around Cameron since I'm always nervous around him.

"That's great!" He smiles, before looking back down at his feet. "I'm a little nervous, you?" He says after the few moments of silence.

"Phew thought it was only me." I laugh nervously. Cameron's phone rings and he picks it up quickly. He gives me an apologetic look, bringing the phone to his ear.

"Got to go off to practice." He says putting the phone back in his pocket. "See you later my girlfriend. Can I kiss you?" I nod slowly. He leans closer towards me, giving me a quick kiss on my lips. It was nothing much, almost a peck. "Also you won't mind if you don't tell anyone about us. For the time being obviously."

I frowned confused. "Bu-" He smiles at me one more time before walking off. I watched him go, guess he doesn't want half of the school bombarding me? Which I'm quite thankful for. Before making my way to bio acting calm as if I wasn't freaking out that I was my crush's girlfriend.

" OMG GIRL! I just said yes to Cameron! Why do I feel weird?" I texted Natalie.

"Did you say yes!!!! OK after school we meet up at Uncle Gary's. Also, ask Teeshay to drop you there we'll all wait for y'all."-My world

I put my phone away when I reach the door to the class and go to the back to where Teeshay was on his phone, as he always was.

"Hey," I say settling in my seat.

"Hello, baby doll."

"What did miss?" I get out my pens, passing one to Teeshay since he never heard of a shop.

"Nothing Miss Boris is sick." I breathe out in relief.

"Yes! Because I did not study at all."

"Whats studying?" I laughed at his comment.

"So it is true what they say, you're only good at looking pretty and playing football."

"Can't deny that now can we." Teeshay shrugs.

"I'm curious, how did you get so good at football."

"Born a champion." He shrugs. I nudge him playfully.

"No but seriously, how did you get in the game of football?"

"Well, it started I guess when I used to watch the match with my pops. I used to love watching it with him, since I was allowed to scream and shout and I used to mimic what the players were doing. It just seemed fun I guess. Then one day my dad brought me to my first game and I fell in love. I remember feeling that thrill, of being at the game and I knew I had to be that. So I got signed into a football club and played every moment I got. Practiced real hard and one day some scout saw me at the game and signed me up to a professional football club." I listened to him intently. I could tell his love for football was real by the way he smiles and looked in the distance whilst talking.

"What happened? Are you still in that football club or?" Teeshay looks back at me and sighs.

"Nah. Got kicked out. Got in some stupid trouble." He mumbles. His face looked genuinely sad when he said this as if the words has cut him. "I regret it so much." He says, this time quieter.

"Maybe you will have another opportunity. You're really good." I suggest, trying to cheer him up. He sits back up abruptly, a smile on his face. I could tell by his eyes that he wasn't ok, but I don't want to intrude. "Oh and after school, we are bringing you to eat the best chicken you have ever eaten," I tell him. He cocks an eyebrow up.

"What KFC?" I shake my head disapprovingly. "Ever been to Uncle Garys?"

"No. What?" I gasp loudly in mock horror.

"Well don't hold me accountable when you become obsessed with the chicken. Just saying." I shrug making him laugh.

"Also don't forget after we eat we have to pick up Sap." Teeshay nods and since we had a cover teacher for the rest of the lesson, we just messed around, talking about random topics. I didn't feel like telling him that I was dating his enemy. Once the bell rang, we headed to my locker to drop off my books and walked to Teeshay's car.

"How long have you had this car?" I ask out of curiosity, I couldn't deny that every time that I get in his car, I get a familiar sense as if I have seen it somewhere.

"A year and a half now, I think." He thinks as he gets into the car, I doing the same. "I got my driver's license early. Why you asking?" He turns on the ignition.

"Just curious. You kept in tip-top shape." I looked at it impressed.

"Looks band new right. What can I say, gotta keep my baby on fleek." I laugh at his silly impression. We arrive at Uncle Gary's car park. Both of us enter and spot our friends Ali, Natalie, Tokyo, Mary sol and Bruce.

"Hey!" Mary sol waves us over. We settle in the booth, Uncle Gary's was kind of a diner-style but he sold chicken and chips. He, at no doubt, has the best chicken in LA, well around the area anyways. "Took you long enough." My impatient friend says.

"Chill there was traffic. And last time I checked the chicken is not going anywhere." Teeshay chuckles. Gary walks over to our table and a big grin form on his face. Gary was a small plump man, who had a jolly laugh and heavenly heart. I've been coming to this shop with Natalie since elementary, ever since he started the business, now the restaurant is improved, but of course, we get discounts.

"Hey tio!" Natalie gets up to hugs her uncle.

"Melody! Bienvenidos! Hello everyone long time no see!" He smiles joyfully with his thick Mexican accent. "See you have brought some new amigos."

"How can we let these two die without tasting your chicken? Come on Gary." I shake my head laughing. "That's Bruce and there is-" I point at the two but Teeshay cuts in.

"Teeshay Rivers at your service." He says arrogantly.

"Si, I know you! I've seen you play, the both of you. Muy bien. Very good players." Gary says, impressed.

"Didn't know we were celebrities around here." Bruce fixes his shirt, smugly. We all roll our eyes at them.

"Well, what can I get for you gente famosa?" Bruce and Teeshay order their food and the rest of us get our regulars.

"I prefer Coke than coca-cola," Ali calls out to Gary as he walks away. She does this every God damn time.

"You do realis-" Bruce starts, in disbelief.

"Don't even try and waste your breath," Natalie says and we all laugh. Ali of course, looking confused.

"Guys I have a confession to make. The only reason why I'm friends with Mel and Natalie is for the endless discounts on chicken." Tokyo says, lowering his head in mock shame.

"I feel so betrayed." Natalie says and I roll my eyes, chuckling. As we all waited for the food, Bruce gave us some unwanted advice on how to be amazing like him. After a while we got our food and drinks and Teeshay's face breaks into an instant smile.

"This is good." He nods, satisfied.

"Told you!" I say proud of myself. Bruce also moaned with happiness. We stayed for half and hour, since it was getting chilly outside. My phone suddenly vibrates in my pocket.

Hey, what you doing now? - Cameron

Eating at Uncle Gary's. You?

Supposed to be studying but I rather chat with you. Can I call you now? -Cameron

Can't now but when I get home.

Ok then let me call you. Chat soon x - Cameron

I smile, putting my phone away. "I'm tired. Let's go." Tokyo stretches. Natalie puts the bill down on the table.

"Excuse me Teeshay?" Uncle Gary taps Teeshay gently on his arm. Everyone was already outside and since I was picking Sap up with him I waited.

"Yes?"

"I swear I have seen you before, like in person but I just can't remember..." Gary rubs his stubble.

"Did you go to a recent game before or?" He asked as puzzled as I was.

"Ah si! I remember now!" Gary exclaims clapping his hands. "Last year, you was badly injured and you was carrying a young lady who was covered in blood and you asked me to call the ambulance." I look back at Teeshay to see if he knew what he was talking about.

Teeshay scratches the back of his head and laughs slightly. I swear I just saw him change facial expressions.

"Sorry I think you got me confused with someone else." He responds.

"No I think I am certain. And it was the night of that terrib-"

"Sorry but you got me confused with another person. Thanks for the food." Teeshay turns and drags me out with him. He doesn't say a word until we get in the car.

"Care to tell me what just happened back there?" I say in the strange silence.

"Nope, have no clue what he was talking about."

"Then why you so quiet?" Teeshay doesn't respond and I find his whole behavior strange. Not to mention now he was in a somewhat bad mood. "Moody motherfucker." I mutter, purposely loud so he hears me.

We pick Sap up from school and I climb into my room and to my calling, the wonderful bed.

...

I woke up, in the warmth of my bed. I sat up and stretched my arms to get the cramp out of my shoulders. I suddenly remembered that I had homework to do and I looked hurriedly at my alarm clock. It read 8:56. I groaned in annoyance since I have quite a lot of studying that I planned to do. Pulling the warm covers off my now shivering body, I walked over to my desk, my body longing for me return back to my bed. I shake the thoughts away and set the books on my desk and do a bit of studying.

After an hour of intense brain power, I decide to go on a short break. As I get up from my chair, I quickly text Cameron apologises for not texting back. It still felt strange that we were dating. A stone hits my window and snaps me out of my train of thoughts. Knowing exactly what mad person would want to have a chat from the window I walk over there.

"Yes Teeshay." I say, leaning on the window frame. "Look whose not moody anymore."

"What you doing now." He ignores my comment. "Entertain me." I find a half naked Teeshay, leaning on the window.

"Studying. You should try it some day."

"Boring!" He huffs. "Just like your new boyfriend." He says the last part bitterly. I restrain myself from asking him how long he knew this.

"Look, Teeshay, just saying that Cameron is going to be around a lot, and I think whatever is going on between you to, should at least me put to peace." I suggest. But my answer was written all over Teeshay's stone cold face.

"Ew. No thanks."He groans, crushing his face in disgust. I change the subject, not wanting to deal with a grumpy Teeshay. We talk for what seems hours, laughing and joking around and I soon forgot about the text from Cameron. Haven't seen him all day in fact. I suddenly feel sleepy talking and my eyes force slowly shut.

...

I wake up, with a blanket over my body i look at the other end of the room and see Kiara snoring peacefully on her bed. Maybe she was the one that put the cover on me.? If she did that's sweet. I grab my pone to check the time at it was three in the morning. I had no texts form Cameron but I brush it off. he's probably busy.

Too busy for his girlfriend. My self conscious grumbles in my head.

I look over to Teeshay's window to find the boy sleeping peacefully on the windowsill as well. We must have both fell asleep as well. I couldn't see his face totally but the streetlamp was shining on his face and not going to lie he looked so innocent and adorable. Getting up and wander to my bed and fall in a deep slumber once more.
