Chapter 18
I'm sitting on my bed rushing through a homework I just remembered thats due tomorrow.
This is why you don't spend most of your time on your phone. My self conscious scolds.
My phone vibrates and I decide for once I'm not going to let my phone distract me. It vibrates a couple more times and I lean over to see who it is.
2 messages from Cameron
"OMG!" I squealed, grabbing my phone. Never mind not letting my phone distract me.
"Hey just wondering what you up to?"- Cameron
"Also I was thinking to bring you to some burger place I always go to? Is that ok?"- Cameron
I throw myself back on my bed swinging my legs in the air as I typed remembering about my date.
"Yea that's fine. I love burgers. And I'm just doing that English homework, Have you done it yet?"
"Ok, that's good because they do really food burgers. Also yeah I did it. It's so long so have fun."- Cameron
I groaned.
"Who cannot not have fun doing homework last minute at night time. Of course, I will."
"Lol. You're right who can't. How is tomorrow night for the date?"- Cameron
"That's fine."
"Cool. Can't wait. Bye. Good luck with that homework."- Cameron
I sit back up on my bed and stare at the torture awaiting for me to finish it. I thought of a few things I should wear. I get up and walk over to my closet quietly so I don't wake up the troll snoring loudly on the bed next to it.
I spend so long choosing on an outfit and end up sending a few options pictures to Tokyo. After our heated argument, we finalized on my cute floral crop top and my denim shorts. Summer is over soon so I might as well make use of the weather before it ends.
Smiling down at my creation I crawl into bed nervous about tomorrow, throwing my English homework on the floor. I'll just quickly finish it off at lunch.
...
School drags on for forever. When the last bell rings, Natalie zoomed me home to do my makeup for me. Nothing too much just something nice and natural and helps me pin my hair into two buns.
"Now remember what you need to do," Natalie says for the hundredth time.
"Not to say anything embarrassing, not to be cringy or clingy and not too desperate," I repeat for the hundredth time, adding finishing touches to my outfit.
Natalie pulling me over to my foot-long mirror smiles.
"My Job here is done. Niña you look so sexy." I look at myself in the mirror. She was right. Is not that I don't like dressing up but I'm usually always wearing my sweaters and jumpers with leggings or jeans. When I felt like it, I would wear something cute and now I really felt like it. The shorts hugged my curves perfectly and the top showed just enough cleavage whilst making me feel comfortable. I put on my white Van's and we skip down the stairs.
"Ta-da!" Natalie shouts, shoving me into the living room.
"Damn Melody, back at it again with the white Van's." Kiara says giving me a look of approval. I laugh at her reference.
"Oh wow. Girl, you looking good." Mimi winks. The twins, Kiara and mom nod in agreement.
"Of course she does. She's my latest creation." Natalie says and I nudge her.
"You making me sound like your next collection or something." She laughs at this.
"Going anywhere, sweetie?" Mom asks.
"Yes. I'm going on a date with a boy." They all look at me confused and Mimi gets up to hug me quickly.
"Is it the make out boy from the party?" She whispers.
"Oh, no a different boy. Cameron from the football team."
"That's great. Good to see that you are getting out more. Where is he taking you? Oh and no funny business." Mom warns sternly. I nod assuring her.
"Hope this Camelon boy comes to the house to pick you up. I want to meet him first before he takes my daughter out. Make sure he knows where his head's at." Dad says sternly appearing from the kitchen table where he was sat at, making his way over to the coach.
"Dad it's Cameron and Yes, he's coming in half an hour to pick me up. Don't worry."
"Its ok Greg if he tries any funny business I'll chop his head off," Natalie says demonstrating her nonexistent karate skills.
"Of course you will Natalie." Dad laughs with everyone. I drag Natalie outside the house before she breaks something and we walk to her car.
"Are you sure you don't want me to be there secretly at the date. It'll be like in the movies when the friend goes to their bestie's date to tell her what to say. You know in case you fuck up like you always do." She stops outside her open door.
"No Natalie, because then the date will go terribly wrong and I'll embarrass myself even more like how it goes in the movies."
"Fine then." She grumbles in defeat, getting into her car. "Also you should add that yellow hair clip. It'll go really well with the outfit and to keep your hair in place."
"You are so right. Thanks, bestie." I blow a kiss at her. She pretends to catch it.
"Love you too. Bye!" She yells driving off. As I was about to walk into the house I realized that I left the yellow hair clip in Teeshay's car and rush over to his front door. I ring the doorbell and wait patiently outside.
"Who is it?" Teeshay opens the door and pauses when he sees me. My eyes travel down to his naked chest. A towel was wrapped around his waist, hair was still wet. Seemed like he just got out of the shower. I feel my ears burn up a little.
Dang mama, he is so hot! Those abs will be the death of me. My self conscious purrs. I push that silly thought away and clear my throat.
"Hi." I look back up at him. He looks a little surprised and his eyes dilated.
"Hey." He opens the door a little and leans on the frame. His muscles flex as he did so and his low V was peeping out of his towel. He looks at me slowly up and down.
"So sorry, to interrupt your shower." I apologize trying hard to just look at his face.
"It's fine, I just got out, come in." He opens the door wider and I step in.
The house looked different from when I last saw it. It was much more decorated and there were family pictures hanging on the walls. They got the walls painted and everything and it was starting to look like a home. I turn around to look at Teeshay who was still staring at me, a small grin on his face.
"What can I call the pleasure to see you on this fine afternoon." He smiles. His eyes falls down my body again, biting his lip slightly.
"Well kind sir," I say walking over to the coach that he was leaning on. "I left my yellow hair clip in your car. Do you have it?"
"Yeah, I do. I kept on forgetting to give it to you. Come let me go get it." He walks over to the stairs and I follow him, and into his room.
His bedroom was quite big. Football posters littered all over his baby blue walls. His king-sized bed dominated some of the room and surprisingly the room was really neat. His books on his self looked untouched and even his study desk was cleared and polished his laptop sitting neatly on it. My desk is a mess that I can't be asked to clean up.
"You have a really nice room," I comment.
"Thanks, It was decorated by a genius." He goes into his bathroom. What! he has his own bathroom! Lucky I have to share mine with five people.
"Let me guess a guy named Teeshay Rivers." I sit down on his windowsill. It was really spacious so he placed a few cushions there and noticed the middle finger cushion that I threw at him.
"Of course who else?" He comes out of the bathroom. Thank God that he put on some grey jogging bottoms which he looked so good in. He didn't bother to put on a top which I was secretly thrilled about. Are you checking him out because you find him good looking or is there more? I hear her say. I decided to ignore the comment.
He walks over to his desk to open a draw and I glanced at his back muscles. I was secretly salivating the way his arms flexed by his movements. He took out my clip and walks over to me.
"Thanks." I get up to take it.
"Where you off to looking like that?" His eyes darkened. I suddenly realized how close he was. He looks down at me, our eyes locking.
"To my date." I step back but he steps forward.
"Urg. I forgot you got a date with him." Something flashes in his eyes but goes away quickly. "You sure you don't want to go on a date with me instead? Where's he bringing you?"
"To some burger place."
"Sounds like it'll be boring. You're always welcome to come back here though." He grins at me.
"And have you bore me even more, no thanks." I smile slyly at him.
"I am quite the entertainment. " He scoffs. His face softening a little.
"Sure you aren't." I roll my eyes at him.
"Stay here and I'll show you I'm not boring." His voice was suddenly lower and deeper. He looked at me as if he dared me to stay with him. I took another step back before I would stay with him.
"I gotta go Teeshay, Cameron will be here any minute now."
"Don't say his name." He growls.
"Why not?"
"Just don't." I shake my head at him.
"What the hell Teeshay. I know you don't like him but seriously. " He tries to grab my arm but I shake him off.
"I don't like the guy. I hate him and he's stupid and probably using you."His tone of voice was harsh.
I look at him. My anger started to rise. I never really understood why they hated each other so much. It's like its more than just football. I mean it must be more, from the way they look at each other when they pass in the hall or if one's name is mentioned in a conversation. Is there a hidden history?
"What do you mean he is going to use me?" I snap.
"You're so dumb you can't even see what he is doing. But again you are so easy." His features darkened and he looked annoyed.
"What did you just say." I say slowly, shaking with anger.
"You heard me." He snaps.
"Well, he isn't like you who used people for a make-out session." I make my way past him and to the door.
"Where are you going?" His face looked angry. But I was angrier and it's best if I go now before I snap.
"To my date like I, already told you," I answer coldly walking towards the door.
"Don't walk away from me when we're speaking." He commands walking after me. I open the door but he pushes it closed.
"Let me go outside!" I try to open the door but his hand was pushing against it.
"No."
I turn around. "If you think I'm so easy, let me go to my date because your opinions have no value to me." Strangely though it did. I felt like he punched me in the stomach when those words came out of his mouth.
"We haven't finished this conversation." His voice was husky and he searched for my eyes but I refused to look at him.
"What the fuck do you want Teeshay!" I yelled trying to push him away but he moved even closer l, pressing his bare hard chest to my body. I felt his breath tickle my face.
"You."
I look up at him. His face softened from a few moments ago. We stood there against his door for what felt like forever searching into each other's eyes. He brings both hands on either side of the door trapping me.
"What do you mean." I manage to say.
"Stay. Don't go to that stupid date." He says softly.
"No," I whisper. He brings his face down to mine, his jaw clenched and unreadable expression on his face. His breath tickled my nose and I felt myself bringing me closer to him.
"Why not. I know you don't want to." He challenges dropping both hands to my waist bringing me to him.
"I'm looking forward to this date Teeshay." I try to move back but his grip tightens telling me not to leave him.
"I can't let him see you. Not looking like this." He eyes rake down to my body, bringing his hands lower to my waist. I felt my skin go on fire when he brushes my back softly. It was like I was battling with myself. My conscious fighting with my hormones.
"I want to leave. Now Teeshay. Let me go." He shakes his head a little. He leans in, our lips dangerously close, half of his bottom lip between his teeth.
"So why is your body telling me overwise?" I noticed that I had my hand on his chest. But I didn't pull it away. He takes his hands to my face, brushing my cheeks with his thumb, my mind racing.
I have imagined Cameron to ask me out for three years now. I have fantasized about how it would go. I waited all week for it. So why was I reluctant to go?
He grins, aware of my reluctance and his eyes make it's way slowly to my lips. He leans in our lips barely touching.
Sis no. You show him that he can't talk to you and order you however he wants. I hear my self conscious who finally getting into my head.
Suddenly I push my hand onto his chest to stop him from diving into the kiss. He looks up at me instantly confused.
"Thought you found me easy. Well, guess what? I'm not." I push him away and this times he allows me. His eyes and body in shock from my sudden change of mood and I opened the door.
"Mel!" He shouts but I speed down the stairs rushing over to his door. His footsteps were heard behind me but I quickly got to the door. And push it open.
"Melody! Wait!" He shouts speeding after me as I made my way across his lawn. I halted to a stop as I saw Cameron getting out of his car. He looks over confused, his eyes traveling from me and back to Teeshay.
"Cameron, um... hey." I wave awkwardly.
