I speed walk down the stairs and into the cafeteria where Natalie, Mary Sol, Ali, and Tokyo were sitting. I sighed in relief that Teeshay wasn't there for some reason. I haven't seen him all day in fact and I've been avoiding him since English. It's not that his opinion mattered on the fact that I was going on a date with Cameron because at the end of the day there will never be something between us. It was just a kiss. Like he said.

"Guys, guys guys!" I shout barely able to sit properly on my chair.

"Woah Mel you need to chill." Mary Sol says taken aback by my sunny mood.

"How can I chill when I have such exciting news?!" I squeal.

"Oh it's easy, you just take a breath in and out. Oh no that's for anger, wait how do you chill!" Ali asks alarmed. I stop jumping up and down and we all roll our eyes at her.

"Anyways, spill. What the hell happened!" Natalie says.

"Well, nothing that exciting, just Cameron asked me on a date and took my number!" I sing. They all look at me in shock. Ali falls off her chair. Tokyo spits out his drink and Mary Sol checks her ear.

"What the actual fuck!" Tokyo gasps gaping at me.

"OMG!" Ali squeals still on the floor.

"I know right, that was my same reaction when he asked me out!" I sit down into my chair properly and open my chips packet.

"I actually can't believe my ears! Its been so long since you had a date." Natalie gushes leaning over to hug me.

"Too long." Mary sol adds.

"I'm going to get emotional. it's too much." Ali wipes her eyes. I love my friends so much.

"Ok, listen up here is the plan, as your personal advisor, I'm going to facetime you a few hours before the date to check what you're wearing." Tokyo states.

"Aw thanks, nice to know you don't trust me." I smile.

"You might walk out in a trash can. I know you, Mel." He says popping one of my chips in his mouth.

"And we might need to go through some formalities. So you don't do what you do best around Cameron." Natalie says.

"Embarrass yourself." They all say in unison.

"I don't-." I pause. "Ok, maybe I do." I sigh.

"My girl is going on a date!" Ali yells finally getting off the floor.

"Shush I don't want everyone to know!" I hiss pulling Ali to sit down.

"And she might get laid!" Natalie sings. I narrowed my eyes at her. That's a little too far.

"And a possibility that she might not die alone!" Mary sol finishes.

"Thanks a lot, guys," I grumble.

"Your welcome." Ali looking quite proud of herself clearly missing my sarcasm.

Bruce and Teeshay walk into the hall, getting their food and making their way over to us.

"Hello, ladies and gent." Bruce wiggles his eyebrows.

"I know, it's ok I know you are happy to see us," Teeshay says cockily, winking at me. I roll my eyes.

"Oh wow, look who it is. I'm so ecstatic to see you!" Mary Sol puts her hands on her face as if she was in shock and we all laugh.

"No, we aren't," Ali says her eyebrows furrow in confusion. Again missing the sarcasm. "We're happy because Mel's got a date."

I suddenly feel Teeshay's eyes glaring at me. Oops. "What date?" His voice bellows.

"With her long-time crush." Tokyo sings. I glare at him to shut the hell up but clearly, he had other plans. "Cameron Diaz." He purrs his name.

"Wait what?!" Bruce asks, I noticed he was glancing over at Teeshay.

"I know, he is such a hottie." Tokyo batters his eyes, sipping on his apple juice. I want to choke him with that apple juice.

"Yea, he asked me on a date. No biggie." I look at Teeshay. Why am I so bothered about what he's gonna think? There is a brief silence.

"Oh good for you Mel, maybe you won't die alone after all." Bruce jokes to lighten the mood.

"What is that supposed to mean. You guys are all meanies." I pout and they laugh at me.

During lunch, we chatter about whatever and I avoid Teeshay since he was dead silent. Ok weird. I notice Cameron was staring at our table. Natalie leans over to whisper in my ear.

"Seems like he's been staring for a bit, don't ya think." She wiggles her eyebrows and I laugh it off. I look back and he smiles as he gets up. I watch him walk across the hall, all the way to our table. Wait for what?

"Um, why is Cameron coming this way." I hiss to Natalie and Mary Sol.

"To see his lover of course. Why else." Teeshay says bitterly. Our eyes meet at this point. He has an unreadable expression on his face. All the humor left his eyes.

"Hey guys, hey Mel." He sits in the seat next to me. We all look at him in astonishment. I look over at Teeshay whose body has completely tensed.

"Hey, Cameron."

"So if I can take your number that would be great. I forgot to ask you." I nod handing me his phone.

"Cameron Diaz you better treat our girl to somewhere nice," Natalie warns.

"Don't you worry, I'll treat somewhere where princesses deserve to go." He chuckles. I smile at him. It was a bit cheesy but it made me feel good.

"You hear that Mel, he is a keeper, don't mess this up." Tokyo jokes.

"Yea, whatever," I say as I take back my phone. "Thanks."

"Chat later?" I nod and he smiles at me. "Bye, princess." He winks at me. I don't feel the happiness in my chest like I was supposed to. Instead, I feel guilt.

Why are you like this Mel? Your crush is finally asking you out and worrying about some other guy! My self conscious screams in frustration.

He gets up and pauses looking at Bruce and Teeshay.

"Hey, we haven't spoken since we should hang out sometime." He half-smiles at Bruce and sets his gaze on Teeshay. "Coach says we got practice in 10 minutes." His tone had no emotion.

"Yeah, I already know that," Teeshay says without looking at Cameron with equal monotone. We all watch Cameron stalk away and Bruce curls his lip in disgust.

"We haven't spoken since." He mimicked him. "Yea we ain't hanging out."

Teeshay laughs. I ignore them. I turn around and Cameron was sitting with Alexis. She was making it obvious who they were talking about because she glanced back at our table a few times. She catches my eye once and she smiles and waves.

That's odd, she would have stormed over here already and yelled at me because I'm going on a date with her Cam Cam.

"What do you think they're talking about." I turn towards Natalie.

"That's strange she would be boiling with fury now. Don't mind them." I nod and decide to not overthink the situation.

It was strange that he and Alexis are over or on a break whatever they call it and I hope I'm not his rebound to make Alexis jealous. I should make that clear during our date.

Sups sorry for the short chapter. I have three homeworks to do an English essay so off to do half of that shit.
