Recap:

"There's something you need to know." Reigan says seriously.

~Rayanne's POV~

"What?" I ask confused.

"Ummmm, you know how your parents were murdered?"

I nod my head not knowing where this is going.

"Well I overheard Tom talking to one of his friends."

"What did he say?"

"He said that he feels really bad and guilty and that he did it out of anger."

"So? What does it have to do with my parents?"

she takes a deep breath and looks at me with sympathy.

"Rayanne, he's the one who killed your parents." I freeze and sadness and anger swells up inside of me. I walk past Reigan ignoring the tears forming in my eyes.

I find Tom near a row of taps. He splashes water on his face and turns around. I see tears in his eyes but I don't pity him. He sees me and he can tell that I know what he did.

i walk up to him and clench my fists. "Rayanne I'm so_"

I don't let him finish, I just swing my fist and it connects with his nose. Blood comes out and falls onto his shirt.

"You bitch, how could you?!" I say. I punch him again.

"Why did you do it?" I interrogate. Another punch.

I back away not wanting to be near this monster anymore, He reaches out to me but I slap his hand away. "Don't touch me. You've harmed me enough." His arm falls to his side and I run away. My eyes are shut close and I hit a wall. Well I thought it was a wall, it definetely felt like one."

I look up and see Alex. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me closer. "Just tell me who."

"Tom" I say. He walks me to a nearby bench and then just walks away. "Where are you going?" I ask.

I don't get a response so I get up and try to follow.

By the time I catch up with him he is already beating the hell out of Tom. Tom doesn't fight back but that doesn't seem to bother Alex. He just keeps punching him and at one point I swear I heard his nose break.

A semi-cirlce has formed around them I know that what Tom did is wrong but this has to stop.

I go up to Alex who's currently on top of Tom punching his face like its a pillow.

"Alex stop." I say sternly. "No he deserves what he's getting. Actually no, he deserves to be dead."

I pull him back with a load of effort. Man is he heavy.

Just as Alex gets off, Tom punches him in the jaw. "No!" i exclaim.

The light leaves Alex's eyes as he collpases into an unconscious heap. I hear the distant sound of sirens. I see an ambulance coming and I make way for them. They pull both Alex and Tom onto 2 stretchers.

I go uo to the paramedic who's just finished placing Alex's stretcher into the ambulance.

"Are you family?" "No but I'm his....bestfriend."

"Oh okay, you can come."

The ride to the hospital may have been quick but it was sickening all the same. I watch as they try to regain his consciousness.

He's placed in room 269 and I sit on the chair next to his bed. A doctor that performed some tests earlier comes inside.

"I'm very sorry but Alex is going to be in a coma. There is no definite amount of time he will be in one but there is a 20% chance he won't wake up."

"Thanks." he nods then walks out leaving me with my thoughts.

I take Alex's still hand and caress it with my thumb. Tears form in my eyes and drop onto his white blanket.

Tom will pay for what he did to both my parents and to Alex. he killed my parents and now he's hurting the other people I care about. What does he want from me?

He crossed the line and he will pay. I don't know when and I don't know how, but he better watch his back.
