"Your results are inaccurate if you measure yourself with the wrong thing."

It makes sense doesn't it? Why would we measure weight with a measuring cup...it just would not work, we all know that it's just illogical. However why do we measure ourselves to things that are inaccurate?

Before I became a Christian, I always measured myself to other people. Unfortunately, my value was determined by other people...and not God. So, I was changing to "fit in". Here's the thing, if something is true, there is no change to it. 2+2=4 and 2+2 will always  equal 4. Why should we measure ourselves to things that change, and will never have a constant truth? If something is not true, it is false. Before I was Christian, I had a false image of myself.

I was brought up in a Christian home, and so I knew a lot of the Bible and what it could do. However, I saw other people's opinion of me higher than God's. GOD is the truth. Jesus is Truth. The right assessment is against the correct thing. What is the something that will never  fail, and always stands true? It is the Word of God.

Now it can be hard, and it will be hard. We are called to live a opposite life to what we were living before. So we must constantly remind ourselves who we are. Who are Father is, and where we are going. That is why we read our Bible, we immerse ourselves in truth. That's why we also stay away from things that hurt us, we remove false communications.

I believe it breaks God's heart when He sees us defining ourselves wrongly and living in sadness and hurt. he wants us to come to Him, the Truth. He wants us to live in joy and peace :)

Our true identity is in the Christ, not in anybody or anything else.
