Hey guys!! I hope everyone is having a great start to the new year!

Here is what I have for you today, just some of the many names of God. I believe that this is a great way to start of this new year, establishing God's identity in our minds. It's not like we forget, but reminding ourselves by using the name behind it gives it more meaning I believe, giving a foundation...do you guys get what I mean? I hope you will, if you don't, just keep reading (lol).

I broke the names into three sections: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Our God is three in one...you can think of it this way, a three leaf clover has three leaves, but it is still one clover. So all of the different names I write about are all about God, but I have broken them into the three different "parts". Basically I am just telling you what is specific about each "piece" of the three leaf clover, but they all are part of the three leaf clover as a whole.

GOD THE FATHER:

Elohim-strength and power (Hebrew)

Our God is a not a weak god, He is the God of upmost position, He is greater than all. Do not worry, our God is more power than anyone in this Earth.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1 NLT)

Alpha and Omega-First and the Last, the Beginning and the End

Our God transcends all time. He knows all, so do not worry He knows what happened in the past, and He knows exactly what is going to happen, put your trust in Him.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." (Rev. 22:13 NLT)

Abba-Father

Our God is our Father. And what does a father do? He cares for his children, that is the core of who God is, HE IS LOVE. So just remember when the going gets tough, "I am God's child, He is my Father, He cares for me."

"And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, 'Abba, Father'." (Galatians 4:6 NLT)

GOD THE SON:

Advocate-Like a lawyer...pleads your case

Our God speaks for us, prays for us, and is there for us. He was the one who gave up Heaven to save our lives, He was the one that said (insert name here) matters. If you were the only one in the entire world, Jesus would still come to still create that chance and choice of salvation.

"My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments." (1 John 2:1-3)

Prince of Peace-Giving the "quiet time" we need

Our God allows us to come to Him, and when we do we are able to rest in His arms. I like the way the song Oceans by Hillsong puts it: "when oceans rise, my soul will rest in your embrace..." With all the troubles all around us, we can be sure to find peace in Jesus.

"You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You." (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV)

The Truth-Nothing false

Our God gives us the answer to the many things we face in life...and it's the truth! The word truth can be defined this way "...without variation". When I think of variations, I think of something that made me "scratch my head" and wonder "how does this line up?" However with Jesus, His message has always been the same, to give hope to world, showing them a better way of life.

GOD THE HOLY GHOST:

Comforter-Giving us ease

Our God comfort us. He hears when we cry, He will never leave us. We know that no matter the situation we can go to God for anything. When He eases our souls we remember to trust and breathe a little...(don't we need to do that sometimes ? :)

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever..."(John 14:16 KJV)

Spirit of Revelation-Giving us understanding, enlightening our minds

Our God enables us to take a step into this type of "awakening". I think of it like that moment after you've been thinking on the same question or thing for like an hour, then suddenly your like "OHHHHHH....I get it know!!" For me it's like the next period and the joke was like an hour ago, and I tell my friends and they're like "I don't even remember what I said..." LOL (sorry...got a little off track ;) Buuutttttt, spiritually, I believe it is when God brings something to our attention that we have not thought of before. For example, a scripture verse or a circumstance around us.

"For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints..."

(Ephesians 1:15-18 ESV)

The Spirit within us-The Holy Spirit

Our God is not limited to the "outside", He isn't the leader that we just watch and follow, and watch and follow, and watch and follow.... No, our God lives within us. That is how we communicate with Him. We have this special, intamite, and personal relationship with the God of the universe. Honestly, every time I think of it, it just blows my mind! It truly reveals the love of God. Another point is that with this Spirit inside of us, we must take care of our bodies, making sure they honour God. Many Christians have many different views on this concept. Thus, many questions arise. Tattoos? Skirt length for girls? Sometimes sleeveless for boys? Is it too flashy? Etc. What I believe is that what we wear must honour God, period. This adds to our "evidence" of being a Christian.

"Is there enough evidence of prove you guilty of being a Christian?" I paraphrased the quote a bit...(not sure where it's from), but with the Spirit of God within us, we can be sure we have the evidence, now let's just continue to add proof, that is all I'm saying. We must have proof.

So with the Spirit of God within us, we must take the liberty to honour Him, but also see that we have this personal relationship, He is our closest friend, and we can go to Him for anything...those people can be hard to find, but thank God we have Him!
