Three months of hell. Three months of being scared for their lives. It all changed though, Leon and Kaye no longer had to worry for their unborn child as the apocalypse had ended. Leon kept a watch out, not spotting a single walking corpse for miles on end. They did it. They survived. 

Kaye sat on the couch by the fireplace, sighing softly. "Leon, I can't believe we've made it this far." She smiled, gently leaning onto Leon. "We don't have to worry any longer." A soft yawn left her. 

"I can't believe it either, even though a couple had gotten into the house, we still survived, and we did it together." He combed his fingers through Kaye's hair. Kaye chuckled a little bit. They finally were able to live a peaceful life, even hiding every weapon from sight so they don't have to worry about survival anymore. "Even managed to save Hope from a bear trap." Hope is the name of their dog, a grey husky. They had found her with her hind leg caught in a bear trap, whimpering for help. Leon had opened the trap while Kaye helped Hope out of the trap. Both had brought the dog to the home, letting Hope rest as her leg had healed. In the time her leg healed, Hope had grown a liking to both Leon and Kaye. As of now though, Hope was laying by the fireplace, peacefully sleeping as the warmth of the flame had put her to sleep. It kept them all warm during colder months, and during four months of Kaye's pregnancy, Leon had not only joined the police force, but also assisted in rebuilding the city. Some things were harder to rebuild than others, but eventually the whole city will be restored. From local grocery stores to active hospitals. 

By nine months, they had everything set up for their child. Both soon  Kaye had woken up late in the night feeling sharp pains before feeling that her water broke. "Leon...Leon wake up." Kaye shook Leon, he asked what's wrong. "My water broke, the baby's coming." 

"Shit, there isn't a running hospital yet either," He said, getting up, "I'll help you then, just tell me what I need to do okay?" He carefully picked her up, laying her in the tub so there wouldn't be much of a mess to make. He even gotten a few folded towels, and put them under Kaye so she's at least a bit more comfortable. Both of them had fallen asleep naked so no worrying about clothes being removed. As her contractions started she told him what he needs to do when she pushes. Within about an hour or two, their baby boy was born. Kaye exhausted as all belief but happy nonetheless, even Leon was happy as ever. They talked a moment while she told Leon how to clean the newborn and everything, but they both decided that the baby boy's name should be Liam, Liam Matthew Kennedy. 

Little Liam had the same color eyes as Leon, but the little freckles and chocolate brown hair like Kaye. Within time, on that night the family had gone back to bed after Leon had cleaned his and Kaye's bed. Liam in a crib that they had bought not too long ago. Liam had only woken Kaye up a couple times during that night, but otherwise sleeping peacefully.
