Living Again and a New Home

"Hiccup! Hiccup! Son!"

Bing Bong moaned gently, peering open his eyes, his body feeling stiff and weak. But Stoick's voice had woken him before he reached Death. He could feel a small human body wrapped around his arms.

"Hicc..." whispered Bing Bong weakly, holding him close as Stoick came nearer. But as he felt his friend's chest, a faint bearing could be felt. He was still alive. But his face paled when he saw that Hiccup's right foot was mangled and bloody. He must've held him too hard while falling.

Stoick approached the dragon before him; who was moaning silently in pain. Tears came into his eyes when he didn't see his son. Bing Bong wouldn't show him yet. He wanted to know if Stoick really was truly sorry.

"Oh, son... I did this... I'm so sorry..." he said in a choked tone, and Bing Bong could see tears coming down. A little smile came onto his lips, finally pulling his wings open to reveal Hiccup.

"Hiccup!" Stoick gasped, taking his son into his arms, and feeling his chest. "Oh! He- he's alive! You brought him back alive!" Stoick smiled tearfully at Bing Bong who laid his head back, too exhausted to speak or get up at all.

Stoick put a gentle hand on his son's rescuer. "Thank you, for saving my son..." he said softly. Bing Bong nodded weakly, feeling his vision going on him once more. The last thing he heard was:

"Well, ya know... most of him..."

....

"Hey... wake up, sleepyhead!" Said a female's voice. Bing Bong groaned painfully, opening his eyes.

"Eurgh... Riley?" He croaked in a quiet voice. But it was Freya. She smiled, not looking so mean anymore.

"I don't know this Riley of yours but it is me, Freya. But Astrid calls me Stormfly now. You're in Berk, Clumsy Fury!" Bing Bong gasped in worry, feeling a lot more awake; glancing about him.

"Hiccup!" He gasped, his voice still hoarse. She pushed him down with her wings.

"Take it easy, your human's still alive, just unconscious. You were out for two days. The humans had to take you back on their boats."

Bing Bong grunted as he struggled to stand, looking around, finding himself lying near a small house. Vikings were moving about, chattering and staring upwards towards another house perched up high. Bing Bong tilted his head.

"Who is up there?"

"The village healer, that human's healing your Hiccup, they'll bring him here to his house once he's all better." Bing Bong's heart thumped and he tried to fly to see him, but fell on his face. Stormfly squawked a small laugh, helping him.

"Just take it easy, Clumsy Fury. You'll see him again. For now, you gotta rest. I hate looking at your bruises and burns!" Bing Bong huffed softly, but did as he was told. He couldn't sleep yet though, still watching the healer's hut for any sign of movement until at last his eyes drifted shut again from exhaustion.

Please be alive, Hiccup... please...

...

He felt somebody nudge him awake again a few days later, it was Stoick. He smiled gently.

"Uh, hi. Hiccup's almost awake, if you want to see h-." He cut off when Bing Bong gave a toothless smile, running past the chief and towards their house, where his Hiccup was waiting.

The Imaginary Friend crept into the house. He didn't want to startle his friend so soon. Tilting his head, Bing Bong saw Hiccup's motionless face, breathing gently, always a good sign. He sat down gently, waiting for a while, until small movements were made.

Hiccup moaned as he opened his bleary eyes, pain in his body, and the first thing he could see was...

"Hey, get up, sleepyhead!"

"Wha- B-Bing Bong?" He croaked in surprise, but he smiled. Bing Bong nuzzled him gently. "I'm so glad you're ok!"

"Yeah, me- me too... but I'm in my house? And- and you're in my house! Does my dad know you're here?!" Hiccup yelped while Bing Bong out of his happiness gamboled around the room playfully, jumping onto a beam above the door, looking at his friend upside down.

"Your dad let me in to watch you wake up, he was ok with that, which surprised me after his recent behavior," Bing Bong revealed. Hiccup sat up, wincing from pain in his left leg. He looked under; and gasped softly at seeing his left foot now gone.

Bing Bong got down from the beam, watching with concern and curiosity, seeing his friend's new metal leg touch the floor for the first time. Bing Bong smiled encouragingly at his friend who gave small breaths, and readied himself.

Hiccup stood on his new leg, and wobbled a little, and when he attempted a bold step; he groaned and fell. Bing Bong helped him.

"You need a bit more practice," Bing Bong stated with a grin. Hiccup rolled his eyes. "Har har, but thanks, Bud."

The two proceeded to the door. Hiccup opened it; and a Nightmare was at his door. He yelped and shut it. "B- Bing Bong, stay here!" The Imaginary Friend protested, but reluctantly sat down. He smiled, though, since he already knew the Dragons and Human's are now at peace.

After a few minutes Bing Bong felt like he waited long enough, racing out the door and jumping over a few Viking's shoulders to get to his new human friend, cooing and smiling at Hiccup and Astrid. Hiccup showed Bing Bong his new tail fin.

"What do you think?" Bing Bong just purred in response since he still didn't feel comfortable revealing he could talk yet.

The two decided then to take a flight. Bing Bong next to Stormfly who squawked in a friendly way at him. His new tail fin opened; a flashy red one with a skull on it. Not bad... the Imaginary Friend thought, since Gobber had made it. It felt pretty good, too.

The Nadder smirked at him. "So you think you can outfly me with that fancy prosthetic?" She laughed. Bing Bong swished his tail. "You know it!" He challenged. Stormfly had spoken with him a while ago and apologized to him about blaming him for Ashia's death, that he accepted.

Hiccup grinned at him.

"You ready?" Bing Bong huffed. "Let's go already!"

The friends took off into the air, Bing Bong roaring happily from the fresh breeze in his face, soaring around the village.

This is Berk. It snows nine months of the year, and hails the other three. Any food that grows here is tough and tasteless. The people that grow here are even more so.

The other new Riders soon followed behind them; continuing to survey the new Viking village with the dragon updates to it. Bing Bong grinned, happy at seeing them getting along. Well, except for one human; but he'll be mentioned later. His heart soared at finding a new home. He still missed Riley but now he can begin anew.

The only upsides are the pets. Most people have ponies or parrots. We have... Dragons!

Hiccup looked back at his new friends, then Bing Bong soared up high into the sky together, looking forward to what new adventures come their way on the Isle of Berk and Beyond.
