Chapter 11

-RESIDENT EVIL IS IN THE PROPERTY OF CAPCOM-

CHANGE COVER! *DRUM ROLLS*

I'm very slow with updating, I'm sorry.

PS: I OWN NOTHING! DIE HARD FAN OF LEON SCOTT KENNEDY.

XI.

By this point, I knew that I royally screwed up.

First Tiffany, then Ashley.

I knew that sooner or later this would happen. I just didn't have the enough time to prepare for it. It was so sudden.

Here I was, in the lower levels called Old Irrigation B dealing with Salazar's "right hand" which he proclaimed to dispose of me.

It is pretty sensitive to Nitrogen gas though and I could use that to my advantage.

Its agility was beyond average. Sometimes it could just randomly swing its thick claws and tail on the ceiling or on the floor. But it's attempt to "dispose" of me seem have to wait.

It was running right behind me and I knocked off the Nitrogen gas in front of me, unleashing its gas and freezing the creature right behind me.

The Broken Butterfly, which was on standby for a long time, has become my best friend today.

With three or four shots of the Broken Butterfly, the monster hit the ground. When it get on to its feet, it stumbles across me until I gave it a nice kick and all of its frozen body parts flew away, killing it instantly.

Well I can't say for sure that I killed it in an instant.

A Crown Jewel is what's left of it, seemingly a reward for killing the creature who was supposed to dispose of me.

I turned on to the corridor and came back to the welcoming elevator waiting for me.

I'll definitely get Ashley and Tiffany back.

•••

"It seems that Salazar is having difficulty taming the American pig. Salazar had his chance. Krauser, go get the girls. Oh, and dispose of this swine while you're at it."

From where Saddler sat on his throne, there was a young man who knelt down on the ground, bowing his head to him.

"Consider it done."

•••

I opened my heavy eyes and felt like I was moving. The familiar sound of engine splashing the water streams. I feel something moving in my stomach, though I can't determine what it was. It was like growling in hunger.

When my senses start to fully wake up, my eyes dilated and I quickly made a sitting position. I was on a boat, and two weird soldiers were on both opposite sides of the boat, me on the middle.

We were approaching an island that made my heart sank. I was now miles away from Leon and Ashley. How are they supposed to find me now?

The soldier glanced at me with those bloodshot eyes that have those very familiar murderous expression that you didn't dare to look at for another minute.

I swallowed, hard. Feeling the cold breeze hitting my skin and blowing my auburn hair in the opposite direction. I never averted my gaze from the soldier, feeling that he'll do something hideous if I let my guard down.

To my relief, the soldier was the first one to avert the gaze and just continued to face forward to the direction of the island.

I looked at my lap and to my bind hands, thinking of what I could do to escape.

Maybe I could jump out to the water? Yeah, maybe suicide might be the easiest way around to end this nightmare. But there's no way in hell I'm gonna do that.

Sighing, the boat finally came to a halt then I made my very first step to the island of doom.

The soldier grabbed my forearm and yanked me up, signaling me to walk forward. His grip on my arm was tight, any tighter and he'll give me a bruise.

I wrenched my arm away from him that made him narrow his eyes at me, seemingly pissed off.

I feel so helpless. Following them around without a fight is making me feel weak than I already was.

As we jump on to the other land, I saw a whole army of soldiers that are preparing for something. Waiting for some sort of impending war. Why, they were holding various weapons. Flails, stun rods, wooden shields, cross bows and even rocket launchers.

All eyes were on me, as if memorizing my whole being. As if I'm a meal.

We took an ascending stairs and gone down to a door with the insignia symbol that's so familiar I can draw it with my eyes closed.

There, I saw a fine man. My eyebrows automatically furrowed because somehow he looked American. Maybe he really was.

He had a big muscular body, probably twice Leon's size. He blonde hair that was swept backwards and he wore the usual military clothing. Black shirt with military utility harness, desert camouflage pants, webbed belt, black laced boots and a red beret.

His aura felt different. That type of aura you wanted to avoid. Because it screamed danger and aloofness.

His blue eyes bore into mine. I could feel him impaling me with his piercing eyes because of the way he narrows it.

"You must be the little girl that's been clinging onto him," He emphasized the final word and smirked evilly. I so wanted to slap it off of his face. "You know," he trailed off while looking at me from head to toe as if I was an exotic being. "You shouldn't play with guns. Because they're dangerous toys."

Actually, I've fired a gun since I was just thirteen.

I didn't noticed that I was already glaring at him but he cared less. He looks like he was used to those kinds of looks, like everyone was glaring at him all the time.

My stomach started to churn and I couldn't help the urge to coughing nonstop. I felt something sticky on my palm then I realized that it was blood.

My eyes widened in shock and disbelief. No, this couldn't be...

I turned my gaze at the guy who was also looking at the blood on my palm with a satisfied expression. "It looks like it's time."

Then I felt like world was spinning.

I blinked, trying to adjust my eyes that was blurring and I caught a glimpse of the guy in front of me smirking.

And the last thing I realized is what a pity my life would have ended.

•••

"So nice you could join us, Mr. Scott Kennedy." Salazar said to me with a satisfied smirk whilst clapping his hands.

I couldn't help but frown. "You again." I sneered. I was so sick and tired of seeing his face out of nowhere.

"The sacred rite that is about to begin at this tower will bestow the girls' with magnificent powers. They will join us, become one of us."

"This is no ritual. It's terrorism." I retorted and narrowed my eyes at him.

Salazar looked at me with a smirk on his face. "Isn't that a popular word these days? Not to worry, we've prepared a special ritual for you." He then raised his hand as if it was a signal. But then I prevented it by throwing my sharp knife solidly on his palm and it went through the wall, impaling him.

To say that Salazar was shocked was an understatement. His face looked hilarious and priceless. When he looked back to where his hand stood, he started to cry out in pain. He can still feel pain?

I snickered in amusement and then his black robed bodyguard took the knife with a single swing then threw it back at me.

I dodged the knife and it hit the door. The two of them made their escape via elevator. I could see Salazar grasping on his hand in pain as he shoots daggers at me.

"Stop!" I exclaimed and tried to go after them but it was too late. I just watched the elevator go up in disbelief.

There was a circling staircase that ascended. I pulled out my Blacktail from my holster and proceeded to move forward.

From the distance, I saw two elite Zealots operating a lever and releasing a huge barrel from the open ceiling, rolling out down the stairs.

It crashed the wall with a loud thud simultaneously another flaming barrel rolling down.

There was no end to this.

I saw a shortcut to the Zealots. A long, narrow passage was on the corner and a ladder going up to the Zealots was ahead.

The Zealot must have realized this because he jumped down with his scythe and ran towards me.

I shot his hands, making him drop the scythe then I shot his leg which made him kneel. I performed the usual supplex, decapitating and killing him instantly.

I climbed the ladder quickly, the Zealot kept on pushing through the ladders, not noticing death behind him.

When he turned around, I slashed his pale face with my knife horizontally, making him whine in pain. He stumbled and backed away, his figure hovering the open ceiling to where the barrels are coming out.

I swung my hand over the lever, releasing a barrel and hitting and killing the Zealot in the process.

I heard something from the ground floor. I saw a batch of Zealots coming in to take the flight of stairs for me.

I operated the lever and released several barrels to hit and kill them. I didn't do anything. I just push and they died.

Then something exploded from the distance.

I looked up to see another Zealot from above lighting up a dynamite and throwing it at my direction.

I shot him in the head and it quickly decapitated him.

I noticed an open-spaced lift. Heavy looking wooden boxes were hanging. I walked towards and got on the lift and punched the switch and it didn't move an inch.

Must be overloaded with capacity.

I pushed on the wooden boxes out of the lift and punched the switch again. It started to ascend, slowly.

From above, I heard some grunting and four leader Zealots jumped on to the lift, making it stop.

I quickly pulled out my Riot Gun from my (invisible) attaché case and aimed at the Zealots then fired, making them either splash away or fall out.

The lift, yet again, ascended as another batch of leader Zealots jumped from above. The lift stopped again.

The Zealot swung its dangerous weapon at me as I pumped and fired my gun. And it clicked.

Shit. I cussed in my mind. Reloading.

As I was reloading my seventh shell, the Zealot once again swung his weapon at me and I ducked. I quickly hit his face with the butt of my gun and performed a roundhouse kick, splashing away a horde.

I pumped my Riot Gun and fired at the Zealots that were charging towards me. Some fell out and disintegrated.

The lift ascended again, gripping onto my Riot Gun tightly as I wait for more hostiles. But to my relief, none came.

The lift finally came to a halt and it lead a long, narrow way. I walked slowly and cautiously and stared at the black moonlight all around me.

There was an elevator going up.

Up there was a staircase and a huge double doors beside the merchant, typewriter and a load of bullets and a single first aid spray.

I didn't like where this was heading.

I dealt business with the merchant, took the bullets and proceeded to the double doors.

Behind that door was an overwhelming atmosphere. And Salazar's back was facing me and his black robed bodyguard beside him. They are like praying.

Ashley and Tiffany were nowhere to be seen and I frowned, not liking the hypothesis that's been forming at the back of my mind.

I ran to take a closer look to what they were doing. Salazar looked back and smirked. He had that unexplainable triumphant expression. "Ah, you just missed her. The ritual is over. She left with my men to an island." He had that excitement lingering on his voice.

My eyes widened in shock and disbelief. "What?" I exclaimed.

Salazar climbed on the short staircase and a mysterious creature that mounted on the wall started to wrap its slimy tentacles on his body. "I think it's time I payed my due respects towards your impressive and stubborn will. Mr. Kennedy... welcome."

The creature also wrapped its tentacles around the black robed bodyguard and started lifting them on air.

I heard Salazar's evil triumphant laugh as the tentacles led them to a flower looking base and closed the petals as if it was a flower yet to bloom.

I backed away, processing what situation I'm in.

After a few moments, a long slimy head protruded from the flower, ruining the ritual altar in the process. The halls behind me were blocked metal bars, preventing me from escaping. More tentacles came out of the wall and the petals bloomed, revealing Salazar in his monstrous form.

"Monsters. Guess after this there'll be one less to worry about." I stated out loud.

"I want you to suffer just like those two!" I heard Salazar say through his unrecognizable voice.

I pulled out my TMP and fired at the tentacles on the walls and at the eye of the monstrous face that's been looking at me.

"Hahaha, that tickles!" Salazar said amusedly.

I didn't notice the other tentacle from behind me and it slapped me away, making me fall to the ground with a loud thud. Parasitic spiders swarmed the ground and I quickly got up, ignoring the stinging pain on my ribcage. I ran to the ladder, checking my figure if that damned tentacle broke some of my ribs and to my relief, it didn't.

I fired at the eye once more then the shield like petals that's been covering Salazar opened and I pulled out the rocket launcher from my back and aimed at Salazar.

"Hasta luego," I murmured through the scope and fired, blasting off Salazar and killing him instantly.

So much for a boss battle.

After the withered flower monster had finished disintegrating, a door was revealed in between the corpse of the monster. I jumped down and to my surprise, the spiders were gone. I climbed up the ladder that led me to the door to my exit.

Behind that door was a good view of the full moon like it was staring right back at me.

I sighed as I walk forward and gripped on a rope that was going down. Another elevator welcomed me. I punched on the switch and it descended.

A dim light of the blue flames was giving the room a relaxing atmosphere. The merchant was there behind a counter, looking at me with those usual bloodshot eyes. Although he had the same eyes as the Zealots, his eyes held no threat at all.

"Got a selection of good things on sale, stranger!" He recited his usual greeting to his customers.

I either tuned up and sold various treasures because my mind was flying off to somewhere else.

There was another door succeeding, I'm just gonna assume that whatever's behind that door will surprise me, positively.

Yeah, like a magic speed boat that'll take me to this God forsaken island in minutes. I thought sarcastically.

And it was, behind that door was an open waterway along with a single speed boat. There's someone sitting on the wheel.

I gathered all of my guard and pulled out my Blacktail and squinted my eyes towards the figure.

Ada looked back at me with a smile. "Need a ride, handsome?"

I lowered my gun with a huff. "Huh, okay,"

•••

The rest of the trip was followed by deafening silence. Only the sound of water streams was heard. From my peripheral vision, I could see Ada swiftly rolling the wheel effortlessly. I can't help but remember that incident years ago.

I turned to look at her and she noticed. She rolled the wheel to the side, making me grunt in shock. She pulled out a Graple Gun and shot it to the highest land. She stood up from her seat and rested her foot on the wheel, making her leg in full display.

"Got some business to take care of," She said nonchalantly as I glanced at her leg then back to her face. She smiled at me. "See you later."

And with that said, she pulled her trigger and flew away, making the boat lose control.

I quickly got out from my seat and snatched the wheel and rolled the boat to the side, bumping it to a rock. I killed the engine and scoffed. "Women." I mumbled to myself.

The island of doom.

I pulled out my radio to inform whoever I could talk to the other line the golden news.

Turns out that Saddler was on the other line. "I hate to break it out to you but Salazar's dead." I emphasized the final word.

I was expecting for him to feel some kind of remorse or sympathy for the men he trusted for God knows how long. But his expression didn't even budge. "Yes, it seems that way." He just said, nonchalantly.

"Saddler, why won't you give up and let Ashley and Tiffany go home?" I asked annoyingly.

He smirked. "Perhaps you are disillusioned with overconfidence," He said. "Just because you killed my small-time subordinate?"

I narrowed my eyes. "Saddler, you're small-time."

Saddler laughed amusedly which I find repugnant. "Writhe in my cage of torment, my friend."

•••

I automatically curled up into a ball. It was freaking freezing cold in here.

I opened my eyes to see that I was lying on a table. I was naked, only covered by a blanket, at least.

I sat up on the table slowly, wrapping the blanket around myself. I let out a breath, seeing it as icy particles.

I examined the surroundings as I felt my lips quiver. I was like in an oversized freezer, along with various types of creatures.

I stumbled as I walk, searching the whole place with my bare feet. Every frozen step I took, the more I get suffocated.

"Cold, cold, cold," I chanted to myself. Why in the actual hell did they place me in here?

I saw a double doors. I turned the doorknob but it wouldn't budge. Of course, it's par for the course.

Beside the door was a device that needed a keycard.

I turned on my heels and take a look to what I could find.

I pulled out the long needle that's been attached to a dead creature and tried to unlock the keycard device. When I got pissed off because I couldn't make progress, I pushed the needle even further, making it unlock.

I almost shrieked in triumph and joy.

Behind the door led an unpleasant smell and hallways followed by a metal door.

First mission is to find clothes. No more green ruffle dresses.

My stomach started to hurt again. The thing inside of me setting my whole body on fire.

"Where do you think you're going?" A hard male voice said from behind me.

I peered over my shoulder to see the blonde guy from before, holding a plastic bag.

He raised an eyebrow and I looked away. "Why in the hell did you place me in a freezer?" I asked, my throat dry.

"Simple. Las Plagas are immune to cold surroundings, hasting it's growth." He informed me with those I-know-better-than-anyone type of tone. I could feel the smirk radiating off his voice. "And also, that's not just any normal Plaga that's been injected into you so you should feel special."

I turned to look at him. "What do you mean?" I demanded.

"No use crying over spilled milk," He said nonchalantly, avoiding the subject. He tossed the plastic bag to my direction. "Get dressed. We're meeting someone."
