Chapter 10

<Ganna>

Asara was impossible to track when she wanted to.

Right about now I was trying to track her and failing miserably.

I hear a wolf howl and a deer dying, usual forest sounds. Then I am surrounded by wolves.

Shit.

Not good.

Suddenly I hear a wolf howl, the same howl that I first heard.

Not good.

This must be the alpha. I think.

The wolves parted for the wolf and whimpered. That couldn't be a good sign.

The new wolf was midnight black with silver markings on it's tail and ears. It also had ice blue eyes that were unnerving to look at.

"H-h-hello Mr. W-w-wolf." The wolf growled when I said Mr. Wolf.

OK?

"Not Mr. Wolf?" I say.

No, she is an alpha female; you are only a beta bow to her. Other wise she might attack you. She would beat us even though she might be a rouge. The voice sounded like the moon and cold winter nights. Why would that voice in my head sound like that?

"Get on the ground and bow or some one will get hurt, and it won't be me." The wolf snarls, strange her voice sounds like the moon to.

Could the voice in my head be a wolf's voice?

I mantel, and the wolf nods then she turns. and trots off.

Beta, follow. The wolf, for that was what was talking to me in my head, told me. I decided to name my wolf Winter Sky, Sky for short. I did what she told me to do. And it probably saved my life for right then the pack got into a fight. I bolted after the she-wolf alpha like Death him self was on my tail.

I found the she-wolf alpha on a cliff. I hadn't realized that night had fallen. The moon was full and had a blue tinge. The she-wolf was sitting with her tail curled around her paws.

"Beautiful isn't it?" She asked. I nod joining her but slightly behind her were my wolf said I belonged. The she-wolf looked at my place and nodded.

"So you have a wolf?" she asks. I jolt more upright when she asks the question.

"How did you know?" I ask my voice sounding more like the moon than it usually did.

"You knew that I was alpha and you knew were you were to sit Beta. It also helped that you are speaking in wolf." I started, I was? "But just remember Beta, that I like to handle my own problems and challenges, something that other alphas won't do." I nodded.

"I will go find what ever you were looking for so that you can leave, all of the other packs agree with me when I say that this time of night with the moon full, is the most dangerous time for a dragon to be alone wandering around in the forest. Stay here I will be right back with your friend, but you won't see me." Then she turns and pauses then turns her head toward me and says as if in after thought, "You might want to preserve that friendship, my senses tell me that their is trouble to come, stick together and you have a chance to make it through to the end of the scent. Wolf saying." Then she disappeared.

About half an hour later Asara showed up and her scales looked more silver in the moon, like the silver on the wolf's ears and tail.

"A wolf said that we need to go now. I think Hanna will be worried about us anyway."

"OK. And besides I want to see if the king will through a feast!" I say. Asara grins and then returned to the forest to pull out a carcass.

"Here, the wolf killed this for us." I join her in tearing apart the carcass. Then cleaning ourselves our claws touched and I felt a jolt of power. Asara jumped like she felt it to. Then she looks at the sky and says "Not bound by blood, but bound by soul," I reply with "Talons the same, but different in ways." we say together "By sole and love we are the same, one life, one body, one mind, one friend."

What happened next was that we twined out talons and flew towards home together.

<Tere>

I was pacing around the cave when Hanna burst in.

"Have you seen Asara and Ganna? They haven't come back from the last test yet."

"What?!" I stop pacing and stair at her.

Then as if of one mind we tear out of the caves and fly toward the forest. Two dragons, one gold and one silver.

I hear a howl and a dragon's roar, We speed up. Then I see diamond and emerald flying towards us to late I try to slow down. If it hadn't been for Asara's uncanny speed in the air we would have crashed, as it was Hanna lost altitude.

Something was off about the was that Asara was flying and then I heard shouting.

"What were you thinking?! We were this close to telling the king that his only daughter had disappeared!" the dark green dragon that I assumed was Ganna bowed her head but Asara growled. I had never heard her do that unprovoked. Ganna shot her head up and copied Asara. They looked like they were ready to fight.

"Ether I can stay out as long as I want getting to know the forest animals and appeal to their better natures or I can't be alive. Your choice." Asara and Ganna said at the same time sounding like wolves.

Full moon, great. That's when I noticed the single emerald claw on Asara and the single diamond claw on Ganna. The old Majic that switched one single claw of claw-sisters, or of claw-brothers. So the girls had become claw sisters. We would have to see how my son reacted to the fact that his hatchling daughter was already nearly grown up. All she hadn't found was a Mate.

"Were is Hanna?" I ask for the seventh time this time I had irritation in my voice.

"We sent for her Your Highness." Brents the Head of the Guard said. Then Hanna bustled in with Tere, Asara and Ganna.

"Ah good you brought Tere and Asara. But can you please send your daughter out of the cave."

"No, I will just tell her what happened in here anyway." It was Asara not Hanna that answered. I glare at her.

Just arrived here this morning and already defying me!

Ganna scoots closer to Asara and whispers something into her ear. Asara just says "No, I won't. He may be my father but he isn't my leader."

Hanna gapes at her. So does Tere.

"What? It's true. A wolf who just arrived in a pack will not obey the alpha until proof that he or she should trust and/or obey him or her."

Hum I didn't know that. Apparently nether did Tere or Hanna for they acted like she was incorrect. But then Ganna said "Not the Beta, it's their job to protect the alpha so they have to obey."

"True." Asara says. And that's when I notice the emerald claw on my daughter and look to Hanna's daughter and see a diamond claw.

I sigh, this was going to happen sooner or later. It is probably better that it happened now. Asara would need a friend if Jesicas was correct. Hopefully Ganna would be with her when it happened.

"Fine stay together." Please stay together forever.

"I called you here to say that their will be a coronation. Their must be. I had no choice in the matter." Hanna and Tere nod.

Asara just huffs and turns probably to stomp off, but Brents blocks the entrance. He is an apposing sight even without his armor.

Brents's crimson scales never show his blood when he is wounded. He had yellow horns and back spikes that had one that was a blue-black. His claws, tail spike and teeth were also yellow. An of course he could breath fire. Unfortunately he didn't have his armor on. It looked like Asara could spit acid and who knows if she could shoot or breath other things.

Asara hisses at him.

"Out of the way Beta. I will leave this cave whether you like it or not!"

Ganna stood beside her but back a little bit. Hum odd place to stand. Then Asara flicks her ears a little and Ganna stands right beside her.

Brents hesitantly steps aside and the talon-sisters left, one stomping out the other just walking out.

"What am I going to do with her now?" I grumble.

Hanna smiles. "You noticed?" I nod.

Then she turns to Tere and says, "You owe me a Ruby." My father smiles and says, "Yes Hanna, I do."

Then he winks at me.

"Why did you just wink at the king?" She asks suspiciously.

"No reason." Tere answers.

"Oh yes their is! And you will tell me!"

"You can try to get it out of me, but I doubt that I will break before you."

"We'll see about that." Hanna snorts.

Tere leaves and Hanna follows him badgering him on what him winking at me meant. I of course knew what is meant, it meant that he would draw Hanna off of the subject and direct her onto a different one. If she ever found out he would get hell.

She didn't even react to the fact that he had admitted that there was a reason to his winking.

My father was growing wicked.

I smiled and turned to join my Mate in our nest.

Onyx: So now we know a little more about Majic. Don't worry, we will know later on. It will be playing an important role in this book.
