Kirishima's POV

"Geez.. what's taking mom so long..? It's already night..." I was sat rocking back and forward in my gaming chair while playing another round of Rainbow Six with my online friends, aka my only friends: 1AlienQueen1, CelloPAIN420, PikaPikaHoe, and KingExplosionMurder.

"Pika, there's a Sledge to your right!"

"SHIT- thanks Red!"

"No problem!"

None of us knew eachother's real names, but we've been friends for about 4 months now.

"Yo, Red, your mom still not home from work??" Cellopain asks me.

"Sadly, no... musta had a later shift than I thought."

"Damn, that shit sucks. She's a nurse, isn't she?"

"Yep! Works right down in the city!"

"I'll have to visit her sometime!"

"CAN YOU BOTH SHUT THE FUCK UP AND FOCUS ON THE MATCH??"

"Sorry Explodo-bro!"

"AND DON'T FUCKING CALL ME THAT!"

That's KingExplosionMurder. He may seem a little rough around the edges, but we've talked one-on-one plenty of times, and he's actually super cool! I any or may not like him juuust a bit...

"Hey, Red, did-"

My blood runs cold and shivers run down my spine as I look outside my window at the remnants of an explosion in the city...

"G-Guys... did you hear that...?" Pika's voice was shaking and he sounded like he was about to cry.

"Yeah.. and not just over someone else's mic..."

"FUCKFUCKFU-"

"ALIEN QUEEN!! WHAT'S WRONG??"

"Wait.. you live right there in the city! Did you see what happened?!"

"Y-YEAH! THERE WAS... AT THE..."

"RED! IT WAS THE HOSPITAL!"

..my heart stopped.

"DO YOU SEE MY MOM ANYWHERE?! SHE'S A RELATIVELY SHORT WOMAN, LONG AND BLACK HAIR, BRIGHT RED EYES, SHARP SHARK TEETH!!"

"Damn your mom sounds cool as hell- BUT NO, I D- ..wait.." Alien Queen hesitates.

"I DO! I SEE HER THROUGH MY WINDO-" she stops abruptly, her gasp of horror heard clearly over the mic. We all stay silent in concern.

"She's...Red...

She's eating someone." She says, completely horrified. All of us were stunned in shock.

"Wait- there are more people... they're insa- TEHY'RE EATING PEOPLE!!!" Alien Queen screams.

"There's no time to panic!!! Let's meet up out in the country-side just in the outskirts of the city!!! Red, you said you lived there, yeah???" We can meet up at your place!!" Cellopain suggests.

"Y-Yeah!! Totally!!! The address is 1016, Crimson Road!!"

"Got it!! Wait- what do you all look like??"

"I have long black hair that reaches my shoulders, big eyes too!! And weird elbows!!"

"I'm a human pikachu, you'll know when you see me!!"

"Okay... I have bright pink hair!! I also have a headband with two yellow horns sticking out of it!"

"Ash blonde spikey hair, bright red eyes!"

"Bright red hair and eyes, shark teeth!!" I scream finally into my mic.

"Okay... I'm running outside my house..." Cellopain says and disconnects.

"I'll see you all soon... hopefully..."

"Please.. please make it guys.."

"...good luck." They all log off.

"I... I can't lose my best friends... what'll happen if they- and my mom.. oh, my mom..."

I throw my headset off my head and run around my house, putting on some hiking boots, a jacket and grabbing some knives from the kitchen. I might need them..

Once I slide into the living room, I panickedly poke my head out of the window to keep the lookout for anyone that matches the descriptions of my friends. I see a couple peopel run by.. clearly panicked. Not insane looking but-

Hold on... is that man... wearing a hospital gown??

AND COVERED IN MUSHROOMS??

They were fully grown, just little sprouts, but they poked out from under his skin. He looked crazed.. deranged... hungry. His eyes were whited out and he was drenched in blood. Whether it was his own or someone else's I couldn't tell...

But.. he saw me.

And was sprinting full speed to the front door.

Once he made contact, he banged on the door insanely. Punches constantly thrown, screaming and gurglish wheezing escaping from the back of his throat as he sounded like he was being suffocated.

The screaming.. the yelling... it never stopped...

Until he broke down the door.

It was flown off it's hinges, and he immediately tackled me.

He was on top of me and kept biting at my neck. Being much stronger, I kept him off of my neck, but had a hard time block off his hands as he began to beat me senselessly... i could feel the bruises forming as he mercilessly threw punches, the clacking of his teeth and his screaming getting louder and louder as he wore me down.

My arms were getting weak.. and... that was it... I'm done for...

I look to my side at the man that was formerly beating me up... now with a fully cracked skull, brain matter and blood flowing out of the collapsed skull shards around him. In a panic, I look up to see my savior... and I see the most attractive boy I've ever seen... his ash blonde hair... his blood red eyes...

..Wait...

"KingExplosionMurder?? Is it really you???"

"So you're Red????" He asks incredulously, panting and out of breath from caving a man's head in.

"You... You saved me.."

"..Bakugou Katsuki. My name is Bakugou Katsuki."

"..Kirishima Eijirou." I pull him in for a hug. I feel him tense up, I know he wants to scream at me, but I also know he doesn't want to attract more of those... things. Instead, he groans into my shoulder.

"Yeah yeah.. get offa me, will ya.." he pulls himself away from me, and in the doorway, I see three more people run up...

Alien Queen, Cellopain, and Pika.

"Guys! You're okay!" I raise my voice just slightly.

"Barely! It's chaos out there!"

"People are.. being.. eaten..."

"Beaten to death... ripped to shreds..." They express in horror.

"Heyheyhey, what matters is we're together now. I know this isn't the time for introductions, but... I'm Kirishima Eijirou, that's Bakugou Katsuki.."

"...Sero Hanta."

"Ashido Mina. Call me Mina."

"Kaminari Denki.."

"Cool, cool, now let's get the fuck out of here. Did any of you bring weapons?" Bakugou asks impatiently and nervously. It's only now that I'm seeing Kaminari with a huge duffle bag behind him.

"I knew this day would come.. so I packed a duffle for it! It has everything! Clothes.. food.. water... weapons.. not guns, but knives n' stuff..."

"I also have some knives from my kitchen.."

"Master Sword replica."

"Acid I stole from chemistry class.."

"...and you just.. brought that with you?"

"..uh.. yeah??"

"Cool..cool.. then let's run!!!"

"Right!!"

And with that, we sprinted out of my house, slashing through any sort of infected that we came across...

It was hell... it was traumatizing... it was something no man, much less a few teenagers should have to go through....

It was our new life.
