7 in the morning

"Wanna have some?? " I offered pancakes to rudra as he came in and sat down on the stool at the island of the kitchen. So today is Saturday... Finally a bit of relieve as I didn't have to rush to office, although I have a meeting arranged with my potential clients but i don't have to make rudra ready.....Relieve from my daily chores, basically....

"Yes " Rudra nodded while yawning and rubbed his eyes

" Aaj main kiske sath rahunga?? " He asked as I have earlier told him that I have some work today

I too thought about it but as advik is also busy today and aunt Maya have gone back to her hometown...i hoped my mother would be back by now as she was out with my dad for holidays... (Modern family... U see.. 😉) So as she was not there my aunt made it to her house for some days and as I was thinking about that my phone began ringing.... It was non other than the devil herself ... I smiled...

"Guess who? " I held my phone up before answering it... Rudra chortled

"Shiva pandya speaking"

"Pata h tbhi call kia h... Itni bhi kamjoor nhi hui h meri aakhe... Akhir abhi umar hi kya h meri..."as my mom commented I shrugged

"Accha ok call kyu kia? " I asked

"Oh yes! Are u awake yet? " She said and I shook my head irritated

"Well I did answered the call and if I wasn't I would be not.... And surprisingly today rudra too is awake " I aswered as she's always up at the crack of dawn

"Great cause i wanted to ask you, when are u going to hire a nanny?" Ok toh maya aunty aag laga ke gai h... Both these ladies have been nagging me, telling me that I need to hire a nanny so that rudra would have a stable routine which I absolutely agree but I'm not getting any time to interview anyone...

"Not anytime soon" I simply told her

"Maya have left a list of few applicants and as today is Saturday I'll take rudra with me and you can start the interviews if you want to. .. I'll bring the list when I'll come over there later... " Before I could protest she told me that I have no choice and that she'd be over here in an hour.... I grunted....

"Grandmaa is back? " Rudra asked as I handed him a pancake and sat beside him and we ate

"Yes she is and will be here in an hour" I said

After I got dressed I helped rudra tie his shoes a loud knock came from down stairs and rudra rushed to the door Greeting his grandmother. I too went down and saw my mother hugging rudra and telling him how fast he's been growing. I had to agree, he's been sprouting like a bean....

"You are going to be as tall as your dad one day" She cooed and rudra looked at me and smiled from ear to ear.. I gave him a small smile as tears came in my eyes..... I immediately rushed my thoughts away and greeted my mom and as soon as she had her sight set on me she gave me a paper . ....

"List of nannies that you should interview" She had a mischievous glint in her eyes. ...

"Itni kya jldi h apko? " I asked

"Well, it's been a while since you were out on a date, getting a nanny will give you some more time for yourself"..... Oh toh yeh baat h, she wants to try and set me up with a woman....
Waise jarurt bhi h, it has been a while
( 4 sex-less years to be exact)

"Sorry but I have other priorities at the moment...I do need someone to look after rudra when I can't" My mother didn't looked convinced by my statement but left it as rudra was around....

I went Upstairs with the papers my mother gave... Some looked promising to whome I can give a chance.... I rummaged through my laundry to search for the number of that women I met few days back.... I wrote it on the sticky note and stuck it to the papers...
This was the worry for later, for now, I need to get back to work. ..

I kissed rudra on his head but he was too busy playing with his toys to notice me... My mother was looking at us adoringly....

"I will be back in four hours... Lunch bahar hi kar lunga".... My mother said bye to me as I hugged her...

I drove to a club.... Nhi,,,nhi,,,nhi..... (Kaam pr hi jaa raha hu kya tum logo bhi🤦‍♂️) actually the investor wanted to meet me there.....

After around two hours of explaining and going through papers the investor finally looked convinced with what our firm wanted to offer.... Hopefully till Monday I'll make him sign the documents to clinch the deal....

I drove back to my house unknowing to what was waiting for me....

As I opened the door rudra came rushing to be grabbing my legs

"Hey buddy where's grandma? " I asked he pointed to the kitchen... I leaned into the kitchen seeing her with another woman talking and by shard of conversation I heard I knew she was interviewing. ... I could feel the anger inside me start to bubble up. .. I waited for her to get finished till then I helped rudra with his homework...

"Okay hum jldi hi apko inform kar denge... Thank u for applying.. " She said while closing the door....

"Who was that? " I asked sounding pure irritated

"One of the nannies on that list I gave u" She simply replied

"Mujhe batana jaruri nhi samjha apne interview chalu karne se pehle? For God's sake I'm the one who's going to be trusting my son with her... So I should be the one interviewing" I said nastily

"I wanted to save you some trouble, I have taken a few of them off the list.... Aur rudra bhi mere sath tha usse bhi kuch pasand aai h" I turned to rudra who was shaking his head is disagreement.. She huffed

"I was also making sure i could trust her with MY son " My mother calmly said

"Don't worry about me i have been alone for three years aur jb relationship mein tha tb bhi kuch jyada khush aur accha nhi mehsoos kar raha that.. That time too I was alone... The only one trying. .. So no nanny could change that.... And also kl main khud Interviews lunga rudra ke saath. .. So aap ne jo pasand kiye h unhe mana kardo" I told her she shrugged and said bye to us... I could see she was clearly very pissed off but my mother let her emotions brew...

As the door closed behind her I sighed

"Were they really that bad?? " As I asked Ru while sitting down on couch he jumped up and sat beside me

"Yesss, that one lady named Hethal scared me.... Woh apke chaar guna thi... Itni bade bade hath pair .... Alee baap ree.... " He said making his eyes big and I couldn't help but burst out laughing....

I called all the women whose no I got from mom including the one that saved rudra that day... A few couldn't make the interview but some agreed to meet me tomorrow.....

Next day

The first interview held just after breakfast as an elderly woman no older than 70 came inside slowly... Well ,, yeh toh nhi hi padengi mere peeche isss baat ki Guarantee hh😁. .. I talked to her she was a good candidate pr a little too old as she started coughing in between the interview and rudra blinked his eyes in amusement.... Naah yeh nhi sambhal payengi mere overactive over shararti bacche ko. .. When I asked rudra in sign he shook his head in noo

He had to like her in order to listen to her....

A few candidates later I was sooo tired. .. And too add rudra didn't liked any of them and I didn't get along with the others remaining. ... I agree I am being picky .. But I can't help it.. I'm going to leave my only Ru in her care and anything could happen to him in that while....

And now after hours of interviewing we were onto the last
candidate.......Raavi Dixit....... The door bell chimed and a few minutes later, after I almost collapsed on the couch... Rudra hopped to the door opening it carefully
I sat up straight when the door opened. ...

Rudra gave her the brightest smile he could as she ruffled his hair and smiled back at him...

"Hi,,, I don't think I gave u my name the other day- I'm Shiva Pandya... I greeted and shook her hand as she nodded

" Hi" She said calmly

We sat on the breakfast table as she handed me her CV, to all the candidates I have gone through today she was the most qualified... Very qualified to be exact.... And I could see she was also studying to be A teacher doing majors. .. After I read through her CV quickly,  leaving it so that I can take A look at it later ...... I started with the interview

"So Raavi for how many years u have been a caregiver?" I questioned

" From the past two years " She answered

" Was this your profession Initially Or something else? ...If only u are comfortable with that" I said

" No not actually, I came here two years ago for studies .... there I found this house for rent... So my landlords were having a baby which they unfortunately couldn't look after all the time as they're super busy with their stuff so I used to be his babysitter... I found this job good as a part time soo I Eventually decided to take it up... "  She explained patiently

" Okaayy... What would you do during the day when rudra isn't home? " I again Interviewed

" I'd do the basic things like making sure all his toys are up to the place and so forth, make him something to eat, help him with his homeworks and projects, make sure he has everything he needs and in evening walk him to the park...and as I'm a student so I'll try and manage my university work too..." She said

"What's your relationship status???.... I know kind of personal but I need to know this to make sure that there aren't any unexpected visits" I said

" I'm seeing someone but he won't come to my workplace. .. As he has work too " She answered while wringing her hands together

"Why did you quit your job and left your previous house?? " She bit her lip and tugged at a strand of hair hanging loose from her tied up bun....

"My landlord overstepped boundaries... " She shifted in her seat uncomfortably,  she didn't wanted to talk about it and it wasn't my plan to pry
Rudra rushed in easing the tension a little

"Daddy! !!" I scowled at him making it known that he shouldn't just run in when someone's busy. ... Raavi didn't seem to mind

"Daddy, mera truck... It broke!" He looked sadly at his toy fire truck in his hand with a missing wheel and in the other hand he had that wheel.. I took the
Pieces from him

Raavi moved her head to the side looking intrigued by us

I tried to put the wheel back onto the truck but it wouldn't budge. .. I pressed my lips firmly together as I tried again but it wasn't working...

"I think, I can help with that" Raavi offered reaching for the pieces. .. I reluctantly gave that to her.... Within a few seconds, she had it back to place and in one piece... She handed it back to an ecstatic rudra who then ran back to his playroom....

"Rudra say thank u " I yelled behind to him when he rushed away

"Sorry sometimes that boy can act deaf... His manners evade him " She laughed and the rest of the interview went smooth

"So I'll let you know about the position" Her light brown eyes were glinting and for a second I forgot what I wanted to say before I regained myself. .. She's already seeing someone so me even letting a thing like that slip wasn't inappropriate. ...

"Thank you for the interview.. " She shook my hand and walked back to the front door...

She looked exquisite in her simple pair of jeans that hugged her curves and white shirt that showed - ....  "Daddy I like her the most. . " Rudra tugged at my sleeve,  Interrupting my derailed train of thoughts...

"Mee too...guess we found her buddy.. She will be the one....."
This also means that for a while i would be able to have a social life and meet a woman... I hate to agree but I have been a sexually frustrated man for some time now...

It's time for me to get that out of my system....

But the response that I'm getting disappoints me... It's sad to see nobody as stirring as I'm for this... Guys if u want me to stand by your expectations u all need to give me the fuel needed for that...... Never mind 🐥
