Bella Meets The Family Properly

****Bellas P.O.V****

I was washing my trunk when Edward jumped onto my truck scaring me. "Could you at least act human. I have neighbors."

"I'm gonna take you to my place tomorrow." Edward said to me as he fixed the dent in my truck.

"Thanks uh... wait like your family?"

"Yeah."

"What if they don't like me?" Edward laughed.

"So, you're worried not that you'll be in a house full of vampires, but that they won't approve of you." He kept on laughing.

"Glad I amuse you." There was an eerie silence and Edward looked towards a car. "What's wrong?"

"Complication. I'll see you tomorrow." With that he left.

I saw them park and Jake helped Billy out into his wheelchair. "Come to visit your truck?" I asked.

"Yeah, looks good. Got that dent out." Jake replied.

"Actually we've come to visit your flat screen, First Mariners game of the season. Plus Jacob here keeps bugging me about seeing you again." Billy said.

"Great dad. Thanks." Jake said embarrassed.

"Just keeping it real son." I saw dad pull up.

"Vitamin R."

"Harry Clearwater's homemade fish fry. Any luck with that Waylon case?" I turned around as dad wheeled billy to the door.

"Well, we food a bare footprint headed towards East."

"Wait a footprint? A human did this?"

"A crazy psycho human." Jake said.

"Keep the kids out of the woods. Sprees the word." Char... Dad said.

Billy looked at me like I knew something. "Of course. Don't want anyone else getting hurt do we." I looked down and couldn't help but think there was a second meaning behind that.

The next day Edward picked me up and took me on the long drive back to theirs. Edward opened the door for me. I got out. We walked in the house.

"This is incredible." I said as he took off my jacket. "So light and open, you know."

"What'd you expect? Coffins, dungeons, and moats?" He asked as he took off his jacket.

"No, not the moats." I replied.

He chuckled, "Not the moats."

There was music in the background.

"It's the one place we don't have to hide. I told them not to do this." He said as he lead me upstairs, probably to the kitchen.

"Hello, Bella. It's nice to see you again. We're making Italiano for you." Carlisle said. (A/N: just pretend that Carlisle said that.)

"Bongiorno." That's the only word I know in Italian. I saw Emmett wave with a knife in his hand.

"Molto Bené." I have no idea what he said. "You've given us a chance to use the kitchen. Kirsten doesn't let us make her anything, sometimes she does though."

"I hope your hungry." Kirsten asked me.

"Yeah, absolutely." I lied. 'I already ate, stupid b*****!' I Yelled in my mind.

"She already ate." Edward replies for me as if he heard me think.

Then I heard something break and falls to the floor. "Perfect." Rosalie said angrily as Emmett came up behind her and held her in his arms.

"Yeah, I just... because I know...I know that you guys don't eat..." I apologized-ish.

"Of course. It's very considerate of you." Carlisle said.

"Just ignore Rosalie, I do." Edward said to me.

"Yeah, let's just keep pretending like this isn't dangerous for all of us." She's really pissed.

"I would never tell anybody anything." I said. 'Psh, Yeah right. When the time comes I'll tell everyone and I'll even expose myself to the world.' I thought.

"She knows that." Carlisle said as he took Kirsten into his arms.

"Yeah well, the problem is you two have gone public now. So..." Emmett said.

"Emmett!" Kirsten gave him a look.

"No, she should know. The entire family will be implicated if this ends badly." Rosalie stated.

"Badly, As in I'll become a meal?" I asked.

Everyone was laughing, except for Rosalie.

Then Alice and Jasper walks in from a large branch outside. "Hi Bella! I'm Alice." She comes up to me and hands me flowers. Then she hugs me.

"Um, Hi." I think she just sniffed me?

"Oh, you do smell good."

"Alice... what are you..." Edward looked uncomfortable.

"It's okay, Bella and I are going to be great friends." She said with a smile.

Carlisle cleared his throat, "Sorry, Jaspers our new vegetarian. It's a little difficult for him."

"P... pleasure to meet you." Jasper said stiffly.

"It's okay Jasper, you won't hurt her."

Edward looks embarrassed at his family. "Alright uh, I'm gonna go take you on the tour of the rest of the house." He said.

"Okay." I said quietly and turned around to follow.

"Well, I'll see you soon." Said Alice.

"Okay!?" I said confused.

"So cute." I heard Alice say.

"Well, I think that went well." Then I heard Carlisle.

"Clean this up." That had to be Kirsten.

"Was that as awkward for you as it was for me?" Edward asked. I laughed.

"I didn't see their expressions, so I think I got lightly." I said as I looked around the wall. "Are those Graduation caps?"

"Yeah, it's a private joke... we move around a lot." I nodded.

"That sounds miserable. Starting high school, over and over again."

"True, but the younger we start out, the longer we get to stay. Come on." He led me somewhere.

"This is my room." I went in and noticed that he doesn't have a bed.

"No bed?" I asked.

"No, I don't sleep." He told me.

"Ever?"

"No, not at all." I went to the other side and saw lots of CDs.

"Quite the music fan. What are you listening to?" Pushing play on the stereo.

"Debussy. Not bad."

"You know you're composers." I grinned.

"I'm not just a pretty face." He laughed. "My pretty girl." Edward took my hand and slipped his arm around my waist. Then he twirled me, I stopped.

"I'm a bad dancer."

"I could always make you not be one."

"I'm still not afraid of you." He chuckled.

"You really shouldn't have said that." He grabbed me and swung me onto his back before jumping. The wind blew my hair.

"What the?"

"Hold on my spider monkey." He started to climb the tree, effortlessly. We stopped. "Do you trust me?"

"95%" I said.

"Then close your eyes." We jumped again from tree to tree then up one until he stopped and sat me on a branch. We were at the top of a very tall tree overlooking the woods and the town.

I gasped. It looks beautiful. The lakes go on forever. The trees stand tall and cover the ground like a blanket. "This is insane. This stuff only exists in books and films."

"It does in my world." I beamed with happiness.

Back at the house, I laid on his comforter while he played the piano. He said he wrote my a song for me. Called 'Bella's Lullaby'.

When I got home I collapsed on my bed. Thinking how I'm going to get a hold of Esme.

The next day after school. I was doing a Biology project and I was late to the diner.

"Hey Arizona. Yo, what's happening. You and the Cullen's, huh. That's... I don't like it. I don't know, they look at you like you're some kind of meat. They don't do that to Kirsten, though." Mike said as he walked up to me.

"Mike, I know you care but my love life honestly has nothing to do with you. Now I'm late. Goodbye." I sighed walking into the diner.

"Sorry I'm late, caught up doing a Biology project." I sat down.

"I ordered you the spinach salad, Bells." Dad said.

"Thanks. Maybe you should order one for yourself next time. Cut back on the steak."

"I'm healthy as a horse." Dad replied.

"Say Chief, the boys wanna know, did you find anything by Queets river today." Cora asked as she moved to the side to let him see some guys looking over. They must be the ones to ask.

Dad sighed, "We found a bare human footprint but it looks like whoever it is, is headed East, so kitsap country Sheriff is gonna take over from here."

"Okay, I just hope they catch him fast." She left and I started eating.

"Looks like your friends are flagging you." Dad said as he pointed outside the window with Mike shaking his butt. "It's okay, you can go join in. I don't mind, I'm thinking of turning in early anyway."

"Me too." I said.

"Bella, it's a Friday night. Go out. Looks like the Newton boy gots a big smile for you."

"Yeah, he's a good buddy." I nodded.

"What about the other yahoos in this town. Anybody interested?" He asked.

"Dad, we're really going to talk about boys?" I asked.

"Yeah, I guess not. I just... um feel like I leave you alone too much. You should be around people."

"I don't mind being alone. I guess I'm kind of like my dad in that way." I commented.

Later that night.

I was on my bed talking to my mom on the phone. "So how's all the baseball stuff going?" I asked.

"Aw, Phil's working so hard. You know spring training. We're looking for a house to rent in case things become more permanent. You'd like Jacksonville baby." My mom said.

"Yeah? I'm really liking Forks." I told her.

"What?" I could hear the smile in her voice.

"Forks is growing on me." I repeated.

"Could a guy have anything to do with that?" I laughed nervously.

"Yeah." I set my mother off.

"I knew it. Tell me everything. What is he? Jock? Indie? I bet he's smart is he smart." I gasped when I heard the window shut and looked. It was Edward.

"Mom, I have to go."

"Come on, we're talking about boys. Are you being safe?" I hung up the phone felling embarrassed. Edward smiles.

"How did you get in here?" I asked.

"The window." He said with a small smile.

"Do you do that a lot?" I questioned him.

"Just the past couple of months. I like watching you sleep. It's kinda fascinating to me." I smiled a little.

"Um... I just want to try one thing." I saw him lean in, so I leaned in a bit. "Stay very still." I did as I was told. I couldn't wait any longer so I leant forwards and kissed him. His kiss was like my favorite chewing gum. Addictive. I kissed him back harder and he pushed me up against my headboard and I threaded my fingers through his hair.

"Stop." He pulled away and flew to the wall.

"I'm sorry." I cleared my throat.

"I'm stronger than I thought."

"Yeah, I wish I can say the same."

"I can never lose control with you..." He looked like he was going to leave.

"Hey, don't go." I told him.

We stayed up talking till I fell asleep at some point.
