The Visit From The Parents

The next morning, I wake up with a huge smile plastered across my pretty face and I sit up quickly to stretch, yawn, and rub my eyes. The moments and memories of last night with Justin at The Fall Festival slowly finds its way into my head. We had kissed for the second time, it felt amazing but, before we go further I want to know what is going on between us, I think to myself.

The bright sunshine slowly creeps into I and Caitlin's dorm, letting a huge amount of light into the dorm. I haven't checked my emails in a couple of days, I should check them ASAP, I think to myself. I jump out if my bed and slowly get down on my knees, grabbing my Apple laptop from under the bed quickly.

With my Apple laptop in my hands, I hop back onto my bed to take a seat, open my laptop, and power it on. As I wait patiently for my Apple laptop to power on, I sit my Apple laptop in my bed, jump off, and open my nightstand, beginning to search for an outfit for today in my sea of clothes. I decided on a dark brown cashmere sweater, a dark crimson red scarf, tight dark blue jeans, and a pair of white Keds along with a pair of matching black silk lacey bra and panties.

I fold them neatly and perfectly, sitting them down on my bed. I hop back into my bed and begin to go through my emails slowly. I have one new message from my mom. I open it and begin to read it:

Happy birthday, honey, for your birthday were coming to visit you today at 12 in the afternoon. We hope you have an amazing birthday, honey. And, we miss you.

I smile uncontrollably at the sight of my mom's email and I get excitedly quickly, beginning to jump up and down on my bed. I can't believe I'm finally 18, but, somehow I don't feel 18, I don't feel old, I think to myself. I power off my Apple laptop and close it shut, sliding it under my bed.

I jump out of my bed and grab my bathroom necessities, but, it falls into the floor waking up Caitlin. Caitlin quickly sits up and runs shiny blonde hair slowly as she yawns and stretches. "Guess what today is?" I ask, happily with a huge grin. Caitlin shrugs carelessly and my face turns a mixture of sadness and angry slowly.

"Well, it's my birthday, my 18th birthday." I exclaimed. "So...." Caitlin says, shrugging her shoulders. Whoa, guess who woke up on the wrong side of the bed?, Caitlin, I think to myself.
As Caitlin climbs out of her bed and begin to pick out her clothes, I grab my bathroom necessities and head out down the hallway to the Co-Ed Showers. Why is Caitlin acting like that...acting like such a bitch or something, I think to myself.

I begin stop thinking about the strange and mean way Caitlin is acting and quickly clear my mind as I step into the showers, get undress, hang up my clothes, and hop into the shower. A large cloud of steam coming from the hot water fills The Co-Ed Showers and everything becomes slippery and wet, including me.

I wash my hair and body quickly, washing myself head to toe with my Strawberry Banana flavored body wash. I hop out, grabbing my towel and wrapping it around myself slowly, grab my bathroom necessities and clothes, and go out in the hallway towards I and Caitlin's dorm quickly.

I open the door and quickly walk in, dry myself off, blow dry my hair, get dress, and put my hair into a simple ponytail. There's a knock at the door, and for a second I think it is Justin, until Caitlin walks over to the door and open it, Bailey, Brandon, and Tyler stand in the doorway together with McDonald's breakfast and Starbucks coffee.

"Hey, today's my birthday, my eighteenth birthday!" I announce, excitedly. But, as Caitlin moves over to the side to let them in our dorm they just ignore me. What hell is going on right now?, I think to myself. I get up, grab my things, and walk out, heading to my classes without a saying a goodbye or waving. I don't know what the hell is everyone's problem, but, I'm gonna try not to worry about it, because it's my day. My birthday, I think to myself.

Outside it is sunny and warm, piles and piles of colorful fall leaves flood the well trimmed campus of Wisconsin State University. The sky is clear, a beautiful cloudless sky and the hot burning sun is shining brighter than ever. As I walk slowly towards to my classes at The Classes building, I pull my iPhone 6S out of my back pocket, cut it on, and look through it. I have a total of 500 messages, mostly from my old friends back home in Creekside Falls, my family members, and one from Justin.
I open up the message and begin to read it silently to myself:

Happy 18th Birthday, Mel, and tonight I want to take you to somewhere. I hope you'll like it.
Happy birthday, girl I want be class today because I have an early morning basketball practice which lasts 4 hours. Bye, Mel.

Bizzle

I smile brightly and blush bright pink
uncontrollably and I cut my off and slip it back into the back pocket of my jeans. Even though, Caitlin and the rest of my so-called best friends have been acting strange and quite mean, Justin's message has brighten up my day, I think to myself. I open up the glass doors and walk in into The Classes building, and walk in into Ms. Brownfield's class slowly.

For the first time, the classroom is full but, Ms. Brownfield isn't here, as usual. I take seat in the back and open up my crossbody bag to grab my large sketch pad and pencil, beginning to draw the outline of a star. Soon, class begins when Ms. Brownfield comes in and we to start discussing about the conflict in Pride & Prejudice.

The day goes by quickly and at 12, I end up, running out of The Classes building and into the outside. The air is warm, hot, and humid so I run into The Dorms building to change our of this outfit, the outfit that is making me sweat. In I and Caitlin's dorm, nobody is here and I start to feel alone a little bit. I can't help but, wonder why were Caitlin and my friends acting like that earlier this morning, I think to myself.

I kneel down on my knees and open my nightstand, looking through all of my clothes to find an outfit. After a few minutes of searching for the right outfit, I decide on a dark purple short sleeved V-neck, a pair of faded dark and light blue denim jeans, black socks, and a pair of Converse. I leave my hair into a simple ponytail but, I spray bits of my new perfume French Kiss Love all over me.

A buzz goes off on my iPhone 6S and I
quickly pull out my phone and see who has texted me. It is my mom. I open the message and start to read it slowly:

Happy birthday again, Mel. I, your dad, and your four sisters are pulling into Wisconsin State University in a few minutes. I can't believe my daughter is 18, we'll be here in a couple of few minutes. See you then.

I quickly reply to her message:

I can't wait to see you, dad, and my four sisters, I have missed you guys so much, I'm so happy and thanks for telling me happy birthday, mom
I love you, mom.

After I send the message to her, I smile and feel a cold tear slowly fall out of my eyes and onto on my soft cheeks. I have missed my mom and my family and my old life back in Creekside Falls ever since my mom dropped me off here at WSU almost five days ago, I think to myself. I wipe away my happy tear, smile, put my phone back in my pocket, and walk over to the door slowly. All of sudden, A buzzing sound comes from my phone and dig into my pocket, snatching out my phone out quickly.

It is another text from my mom. I read it to myself quickly:

Hi, honey, it's your mom. Were here. Meet us in the parking lot of Wisconsin State University, dear. Can't wait to see you, honey.

Omg there here!, I think to myself. My subconscious is jumping up and down excitedly with a bright smile on her face. I open the door, walk down the hallway quickly, and push open the glass doors, quickly running outside. I walk over towards the parking lot of Wisconsin State University.

In the parking lot of WSU, lyes my parent's dark green minivan and my mom and dad are just now stepping out of the minivan just like my four sisters. I am the second born of five sisters (including myself). My youngest sister, Sidney, jumps out of the minivan and runs over to me with her arms wide open. I knee down and open my short arms wide, and when we pull in for a small warm hug and I pick her up, holding her up by her small waist in the sky.

"I have missed you so much, Sidney." I say, happily. Sidney is just a toddler with stubby legs, a wicked sense of humor, and long beautiful light brown hair. "I have misses you, too." Sidney says. My dad comes up Behide and we fall into a hug. We pull away and stand a few inches away smiling. "How have you been, baby girl?" He asks. "Fine." I reply quickly. My mom scoops Sidney up, putting her on her hip. I give warm hugs to Riley, Delilah, and Quinn, quickly. "Where shall we go?" I ask, curiously. "We would love if you show us around Wisconsin State University." My dad says.

⚫⚫⚫⚫

I show my family around WSU from the countless classes in The Classes building to the several dorms in The Dorms building. We end up going to Red Lobster for an amazing meal downtown and going to Dunkin' & Donuts. "So how is life back home in Creekside Falls?" I ask, dipping chunks of my shiny and sticky sweet glazed donut into my cup of hazelnut coffee and eating it.

"It is pretty normal. Your father neighborhood watch ever since the burglary at The Brownstones. Sidney is potty trained, Delilah is in first grade, and Quinn is have boy trouble in middle school. I have joined a book club with the rest of my friends and we watch the re-runs of Desperate Housewives and Sex & The City....." My mom rambles on and on. It is getting irritating really fast, but, I try act like I'm not.

"Have you visited....Willa's grave?" I ask, whispering slowly. Willa is my big sister and was the first one born out of my parent's five daughters. But, during her first day at college, Willa had gotten into a bad car wreck and died at the scene. I was texting Willa at the time and she had answered it, which led to her tragic death. That day still haunts me and gives me nightmares, creepy yet beautiful nightmares.

"Yes. I have brought her a large bouquet of red roses. Her favorite." My mom says. I nod and try to blink back the cold tears that I trying to fall down but, they slip through and fall down. I miss you, Willa, I really do, I think to myself. "Don't cry, it wasn't your fou....." My mom begins to speak but, I rudely interrupt her quickly by yelling, "Yes it was my fought! If I didn't send that text to her, should would have still been alive!!!!"

I storm out, quickly burying my face in my small hands and letting the tears fall down. It's all my fought, it is mine, no else but, but yours Mel, I tell myself in my head over and over. I walk away from Dunkin' & Donuts and over to a tall oak tree. I stand by the tree and begin to walk around slowly, wiping away my tears quickly.

I hear a door open and I quickly lift my head up to see who it is and surprisedly it is not my dad or my mom or my sisters, but, Justin Bieber. Justin walks away from his Honda and walks over to me. I hate when people see me cry, omg, I think to myself. I try to fix myself up and stop crying quickly as he comes closer and closer. Justin is wearing a black short-sleeved V-neck shirt, tight dark blue denim jeans, black socks, black snapback, a dark blue plaid shirt, and a pair of dark blue Converse.

"Mel, I saw you storm out of Dunkin' & Donuts and come outside crying. Are you ok? What happened?" He asks. His voice is quite shaky and full of concern, care, and worry. "Yes, I'm okay Justin. It's nothing." I lie, biting my lower lip nervously. "Okay." He says, happily with a wide smile. My dad slowly appears behide Justin and walks up to me quickly. "It wasn't your...." My dad begins to say but, stop after taking a look at Justin. "Who is fellow?" He asks, with one eyebrow raised. "This is Justin, dad. My friend." I say, nicely. He nods and hold out his hand for Justin to shake it. Justin shakes it and my dad says, "It's nice to meet you, Justin. I'm Melissa's dad, Ben."

"It's to meet you, too. Mr. Brown. I don't want interrupt anything going on, I'm going to go. Have a great day, Mr. Brown. And see you later, Mel." Justin says, with a sweet smirk, turns around, begins to walk away back into his car and speed down the streets. "His a good guy. You should keep him, close." He says. "I will." I say, with a weak smile.
