Chapter 6

The Classes & The Shopping

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off uncontrollably and to find Justin lying beside me in my small yet comfortable bed under the sheets. I slowly sit up in my small bed yawn, stretch my short arms out, and wipe my eyes and reach out my short arm to press the off button on my alarm clock. I slowly take the sheets off of Justin and to see Justin sleeping beautifully with his eyes closed and his hands are in his dark blue and white plaid boxers shorts. Wait, oh god did we fuck last night?, I think to myself.

I grab my iPhone 6S off of my nightstand and check the calendar to find out it is Tuesday, September 20.
Two days until my 18th birthday, I think to myself.

Before my eyes, suddenly, the dorm door flies open quickly making me jump up with my heart pounding and waking Justin up. In walks in, Bailey, Brandon, Caitlin, and Tyler with a large bag of Dunkin' & Donuts donuts and cups of Dunkin' & Donuts coffee.
Once they catch the sight of I and Justin in my small bed, Caitlin gasps dramatically, Bailey has a smirk on her beautiful face, Tyler eyes go wide, and Brandon quickly turns away, looking sadly.

"We brought donuts and coffee but,...-" Bailey begins to say, but, I rudely interrupt her by saying, "It isn't what you think. Were just friends." They all nod in agreement except Brandon, who mutters under his breathe, "Sure you guys are." But, I just ignore his mean comment about I and Justin's current state.

I and Justin jump out of my small bed together quickly and sit side by side in a circle together in the floor with Bailey, Brandon, Caitlin, and Tyler, passing out donuts and coffee. "Thanks, guys." I say, happily. Bailey smiles and nod and say, "No problem." Together, we all eat donuts and drink coffee in I and Caitlin's dorm. I and Justin listen as Caitlin tells us about their fun time they had at Dave & Busters last night.

After, we get done eating, Bailey, Caitlin, Tyler, and Brandon wave goodbye to I and Justin and head off to their classes in The Classes building. "I'm going to take a quick shower and get dress and go to class." I tell Justin and he nods smiling and says, "Okay, cool."

"That was fun last night. In the woods and in the lake. We should do that again sometime." I say, happily. "Yea, we should. Have you ever gone swimming in lakes before?" He asks curiously. "No. When I was young, my mom would ban me from doing spontaneous stuff like that." I say, sadly. Justin gets up and slowly walk over to me, we are face to fave.

He stares deeply into my eyes and says, "Mel, that's not spontaneous. It's fun. Sometimes you gotta let your guard down and live a little. It's your life, not your mom's." I quickly turn away from him sadly. Justin takes a small step back and asks," I'm sorry, did I say something wrong, Mel?" "No. Your right. We should go somewhere tonight after class." I say.

"There's a karaoke bar a few miles away from here called Karaoke Superstar Singer. They just opened it last week. But, I have to warn you I'm a murder on the mic, Mel." Justin says, proudly and cockily with a wide smile. "Sure, you are Justin. Sure you are." I say, laughing and smiling nonstop.

"I'll see you tonight after class to pick you up. Bye, Mel. Movie night was great but, you fell asleep so I put in your bed and climbed in with you. Bye." Justin says, waving goodbye with a smile as he walks over to the door, twisting the golden knob open.
"Ok, bye. See you, tonight." I say, excitedly and wave goodbye. And, then his gone.

Oh, no I need to check if my mom has e-mailed me back, I think to myself. I walk over to my small bed, slowly knee down on my knees, and grab my Apple laptop from underneath my small yet comfortable bed. With my Apple laptop in my hands, I sit on my bed, open my Apple laptop, press the power button, and watch it turn on.

I check my emails slowly, roaming through the old and new emails and then I finally find one from my mom.
I open and begin to read it to myself:

Hi, honey, I really miss you and I hope you come visit soon, I'm happy that you made friends and everything, but, don't forget to stick to your future and your plans for college.

I hate when she says that, I think to myself. The rest of the email from my mom consists of talk about my four sisters, dad, and the daily life in Creekside Falls. After reading my mom's email, I pick out my outfit of the day, a dark purple cashmere sweater, tight dark blue jeans, white ankle socks, and a pair of Converse, along with a black silk bra and matching panties.

I grab my bathroom necessities and open the door dorm and walk out in the hallway of The Dorms, shutting the door dorm. I down the hall towards The Co-Ed Showers and walk in slowly. I hang my clothes up, strip naked, and get in the shower. I wash myself and my hair from head to toe and I brush my teeth.

After taking a quick shower and brushing my teeth, I dry off my wet body and hair, blow dry my hair, and get dress, put my hair into a high fashion ponytail. There's a small knock on the door and walk over after I grab my crossbody bag and my dorm number paper, golden dorm key, and class schedule, and check the time which is 7:23.

I open the door to find Justin, with a smile on his face and a sparkle in his hazel brown eyes, wearing a black snapback, white plain T-shirt, a dark blue and black plaid shirt, tight black ripped pants, and a pair of black Converse. "Come on, let's get to class, Mel." He says, happily with a smile.
"Okay, Justin." I say, walking out of the dorm and into the hallway of The Dorms, closing the door behind me shut.

Together, I and Justin walk side by side, in the hallway of The Dorms, walking down the hall towards the glass doors. We open the glass doors and walk outside, the air is chilly and freezing. "Do you want to work on together on the book report for Miss Brownfield's class?" I ask, curiously.
"Yea, sure." He says, smiling. We walk together towards The Classes building and opening the glass doors, walking in slowly.

We walk to Ms. Brownfield's class together and walk in to find no teacher and only a few students in their seats. I and Justin sit in the middle of all of the desks, waiting for class to start. Is she always so late?, I think to myself.

I open my crossbody bag and grab out my sketch pad of drawings and a pencil, and begin to draw a sunset. "What are you doing?" Justin asks, curiously. "Drawing." I say, slowly and quietly. "I never knew you could draw, Mel. Can I see it?" He asks, excitedly.

"I'm not done yet. But, here you go." I say, happily and quickly hand over my large sketch pad to Justin. As Justin stares at the half-done drawing of a sunset, I bite me lower lip and begin to look around the room.

"Do you like it?" I ask, curiously with hope. "No....I don't like it." He says, quickly. "I love it, Mel. Your drawing skills are amazing. Fuck, I wish I draw like you ." He adds, with a smile. I nod and giggle a little bit.

Finally, Ms. Brownfield and the rest of students flood the class and class finally begins. "I'm so sorry for my absence, I had been stuck in traffic. Ok, today class we will be discussing the relationship between Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy." Ms. Brownfield says, happily.

I smile happily and bite my lower lip.
"Eager? Miss Brown?" Ms. Brownfield asks, curiously. Heads turn my away quickly, facing me but, I don't care. "Yes, The relationship between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy was perfect.
Even though, Elizabeth had to deal with her prejudice and Mr. Darcy had to deal with his pride, they both overcame their personal problems and eventually ended up together." I say, happily.

"Yes, Miss Brown. That is correct." She says. Soon, literature class ends and the day goes by quickly in art and music. My iPhone 6S makes a bing sound and I grab it out my pocket, checking to see who is texting me.
It is Justin Bieber. I begin to read the text he sent:

Hey, Mel, after basketball practice we'll meet up at your dorm for tonight at Karaoke Superstar Singer. I can't wait, yo

Bizzle

I smile at the sight of his text, and begin to text back:

Okay, cool, I can wait either for tonight.

Mel

I put my iPhone 6S back into my back pocket, walk towards the glass doors of The Classes, and walk outside. I walk back towards The Dorms, opening the glass doors. I walk down the hall towards my dorm and use my golden dorm key to open it.

I open the door to find Bailey and Caitlin sitting on Caitlin's small bed with piles of textbooks and two plates of half-eaten burritos. "Are you guys studying?" I ask, curiously. "Yea, but we're going to the mall in a few minutes to shop for clothes and makeup." Caitlin says, happily. "You want to come?" Bailey asks. "Sure." I say, shrugging my shoulder with a bright smile. I grab my wallet and we walk together, locking the dorm door.

Caitlin drives us to a large mall called Downtown Wisconsin Mall in her dark blue Sedan. The ride is short, because the large mall is only a couple miles away from Wisconsin State University. We walk into the mall to find people everywhere in stores, eating, drinking and everything in between.

We end up walking around to find stores and begin to talk. "So, Mel what is up with you and Justin give us the rundown." Caitlin asks, curiously. "Cait, what do you mean?" I ask, sounding harsh and cruel. "Like...are you guys an item?" She asks. "No. Were just friends." I say, quickly. "Well, friends don't sleep together in a bed." Bailey says, smiling and laughing a little bit, sounding sarcastic.

"Whatever." I say, quickly. We find a clothing store called Passion For Fashion and walk in eagerly with huge smiles and beating hearts. I begin to look through the racks of outfits to find tight skinny jeans, leggings, cashmere sweaters, tights, pants, jean jackets, and more.

I pick out a couple colorful cashmere sweaters, jean jackets, scarfs, and a few pairs of Converse, Uggs, Vans, TOMs, and Keds. After buying some new clothes, we end going to Mel
burgers, fries, and milkshakes at a tiny restaurant called Dine In.

A bing goes off on my iPhone 6S, I grab it quickly out of my back pocket, and cut on my phone to find a text from Justin. I read the text in my head:

Mel, I'm getting off of basketball practice in a few minutes. I'll be there sooner than you think.

Bizzle

I smile and text him back saying:

Ok, great, in actually out with Bailey and Cait so I gotta go. Ttyl,
Justin.

Mel

I cut off my iPhone 6S and slip it back into the back pocket of my jeans. "Who was that?" Bailey asks, with concern. "It was a text from Justin, mother. Ugh." I say, laughing and giggling with a smile. Caitlin joins in the joke, and Bailey says, "Whatever. I was just asking."

After an hour of looking around the mall, eating more food at the food court's tiny restaurants, and buying more things like necklaces, makeup, and bracelets, We head out and drive back to Wisconsin State University quickly.

Night begins to take day's place, replacing the bright, shiny, and yellow sun with the sliver, hollow, and white moon. As Caitlin and Bailey take a seat on Caitlin's bed to watch Bridesmaids, I neatly fold my new clothes and put them in nightstand quickly. I pick my outfit for tonight: A light blue, white, and black short sleeve pattern checker plaid shirt, light blue tiny skinny jeans, white ankle socks, light blue denim jacket, and a pair of white high top Converse along with white silk bra and panties.

I grab my bathroom necessities, walk out the dorm, down the hall, and walk into The Co-Ed Showers. I strip naked, hang up my clothes, and jump into the shower, let the hot water cool my cold skin. After taking a fast yet relaxing shower, I dry my hair and myself, blow dry my hair, flat iron my hair straight and curl the ends beautifully, and get dress.

After getting dress, I grab The Fault In Our Stars, walk over to my bed, and flop down on my bed and begin to read. Suddenly, there's a small knock at the dorm door and get up, sit The Fault In Our Stars down, and walk over to the door. I open it and Justin stands in the doorway wearing a plain black T-shirt, light blue tight and ripped skinny jeans, a black snapback, and a pair of black Converse.

"You ready for me to murder you by singing?" Justin asks, smiles cockily and laughs a little bit. "Don't you mean you ready to watch Mel beat you up by singing?" I ask, laughing.
"Where are you going this late, young lady?" Bailey asks, playfully in a strict motherly voice that reminds me if my own mother. "Out. Out with my friend, Justin. To a karaoke bar. Don't wait up mother." I say, jokingly and walk out into the hallway of The Dorms and shutting the door.
