Chapter 48
The Skating Shack & Movies
After a few minutes of driving around, We finally reach a tall brick wall building that has a black and white neon sign that says: The Skating Shack. I see a couple of skaters with snapbacks and Converse skating on the sidewalk and smiling and laughing.
"We're here. This is The Skating Shack." He announces, happily with a bright smile. "Wow. This is.... something." I say, softly. I am a nervous wreck as I jump out of Justin's car and I wipe my sweaty palms on my dark blue denim skinny jeans. As I Justin walk over to the glass doors of The Skating Shack, I swear I can feel everyone's eyes on and I bite my lip nervously.
I hate this type of attention, I think to myself. "I'm nervous and I can feel everyone's eyes on me, Justin." I admit, truthfully. "Don't be. I'm right here, Mel. I'm here for you." He assures me. He grabs me small hand and lace it with mine and soon my nerves and insecurities go away in a second.
Inside of The Skating Shack, there are large ramps, a vending machine, a skateboard shopping center, a snack shopping center, and a small food court. It smells like sweat, tears, and must and I try to hide my disgust if this horrible smell with a fake smile.
Green Day and The Killers music blast loudly through the huge and big black speakers. "This is cool." I say, quietly.
"I know I haven't been here in forever. Since I got into college." He admits, with a small smile.
A chubby man with a glasses and a couple of tattoos walks over to us slowly with huge grin on his. "Justin, man your back it's nice to see you, Mr. B Ball!" The chubby man exclaims, happily. "Hey, Ron, it's been a long time since I been here, dude." He says, happily. Who is this Ron?,
I think to myself. They quickly shake hands with a small smile.
"And you is this pretty woman right here?" He asks, smirking and looking at me. I quickly turn away from him and cringe. I know he isn't talking to me, I think to myself.
Justin quickly wraps his long and lanky arm our my small shoulder and pulls me closer to his side. "This is Mel. And she is.....is....my..." He stutters, nervously and chewing the inside of his cheek.
He looks so adorable when his stuttering, it reminds of Hugh Grant or something, I think to myself.
"Girlfriend. I'm Mel, his girlfriend." I lie, grabbing Ron's hand and shaking it quickly with a fake and bright smile plastered across my face.
⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫
Justin's POV.
Girlfriend?
She said she was my girlfriend?,
I think to myself.
She completely lying but, it seems like it was more than that and that it something behind that meaningless white lie she had just told my old skateboarding mentioned Ron.
"Wow. Justin, this your girlfriend. Your doing pretty well for yourself and I can tell she's going to be a keeper." Ron says, happily. No she's not, especially when I her that I actually love her, I think to myself.
"Yeah, you got that right." I mutter.
"Justin, come over to the skateboarding shopping center to show Mel your old skateboard." He suggests, happily. "Yeah, sure." I say, shrugging my shoulder carelessly.
As Ron leads us over to the skateboarding shopping center, I and Mel walk behind him talking amongst ourselves.
"Thanks." I whisper, softly, with a small smile. "No probably, Justin." She whispers back.
We finally get out over to The Skating Shack's shopping center we got into the back. In the back, There countless old skateboards from broken down ones to dusty and fragile ones.
"This is the one." Ron says, happily. Ron points with his long finger to a medium-sized skateboard with a red wheels and on the back of the skateboard is a skull, a basketball ball, black angel wings, and a red snapback.
It's original and outstanding, compared to the rest of the basic skateboards. Tears begin to find it's way out of my eyes but I quickly trap them and I begin to smile.
That skateboard of mine brings back so much good and life changing memories for me that it hurts so good. I remember after school, instead of going home to my foster parents, I would run off and escape to The Skating Shack to skateboard.
Ron was my skateboarding mentor and he taught me a lot of great and amazing tricks and he even called me
"The Young Tony Hawk."
I walk over to my old and small skateboard and kneel down onto my knees to look at it. I touch and memories quickly come in flashes and echoes out of nowhere and it's so fucking overwhelming.
I hear small footsteps behind me and turn to see the most beautiful woman that I have ever seen. My thunder to her lighting, my dark to her lightness, and my disturbance to her perfection.
Mel.
Mel's POV.
Justin is on his knees, touching his old skateboard, and he looks quite overwhelmed and emotional all at the same time. I press my small hand against his back and begin to rub it softly. "It's okay." I whisper, softly in his ear. He nods and turns to me with watery eyes and a small smile.
"Okay, enough of this emotional shit. Go get your skateboard and get your asses out on the ramps." Ron demands.
Justin and I begin to quickly laugh and as Justin gets up off his knees, he pulls me close and we hug tightly.
"I'm glad you came, Mel" He whispers.
"I'm glad, too, Justin." I whisper back.

"Why are the ramps so....um big?" I ask, nervously. "The ramp is like a huge hill. It's alright. I got you." He assures me, with a small smile and puts his arm around my shoulder.
He holds a skateboard in his other hand and we begin walk over to the ramps. I climb up on top and I begin to look down on ramp and my stomach begins to turn and I feel like I'm about to vomit.
"Don't be scared." He says, with a small smile. "Ok. I'll try not to be." I say. "Before I teach you how to skate like this sexy person, let me show a thing or two. From the master." He says, cockily.
I roll my eyes and begin to giggle. "Whatever." I say, simply. He grabs the skateboard and jumps into off it.
With his heels on the skateboard, he goes down the ramp fast and begins to do tricks that could give any professional skateboarder a run for their money.
I am amazed but, I know I shouldn't be because Justin can really do almost anything, from playing basketball to skateboarding, his amazing.
"Ok, I have seen you enough Justin. It's my turn." I whine, sounding like a little girl instead a college student.
"Ok, ok." He says.
He climbs back up and the ramp and hands me the skateboard. "Ok, stand on the skateboard while I hold your waist." He instructs. I slowly and nervously get on the skateboard while Justin hands hold a tight and steady grip on my tiny waist.
"Ok, listen. I am going to push you down the ramp to give you a start. Keep it steady as you go down this big ramp." He says, softly.
"Uh. Ok.....I ...." I stutter, nervously and stupidly. I take a deep breathe and do a countdown from my lucky number seven in my head.
7.........6.....5....4....3....2....1!
Justin gives me a small and harmless push down the ramp and end up going down the ramp perfectly. I do a small trick of spinning around in the air while on the skateboard.
But, the skateboard gets remove from out under my feet and I fall down on the ramp on my stomach. Pain and hurt goes through my knees, hands, and legs. "Ouch." I whisper, softly, rubbing my knee.
Small and fragile tears begin to fall from my eyes and I try to wipe them away become I am in public and hate to show weakness and vulnerability in public. I can feel everyone's eyes focused on me and I just don't feel embarrassed but, I feel ashamed for thinking I could skate.
"Mel, baby are you ok?" He yells, running and rushing down the ramp to my side. "No. My knees hurt. Everything hurts. I'm embarrassed and I..." I stutter, slowly.
"It's alright. Let's go. I got you." He assures me, with a small smile and plants a kiss on my small forehead.
He grabs and picks me up, carrying me towards the glass doors of The Skating Shack.

On the ride back to WSU, the pain in my knees and elbows have slowly begun to go down but, I still feel hurt.
"I'm really sorry for taking you there. I was just wanted us to get out and have a good time. That's all." He apologizes, softly.
"It's alright. Justin you didn't mean any harm and you didn't know I was going to fall." I say.
We pull up at WSU and drive through once the gates open and Justin finds a parking spot in the parking lot of WSU.
Justin quickly within a second hops out of the car and rushes to my side to open the car door for me and help me. The sun in the sky is slowly going down and the sky is turning a deep sea blue. The air is very windy and cold.
He picks me up and carries me inside to the inside of The Dorms hallway and towards his dorm.
Inside of Justin's dorm, he sits me down carefully and slowly on to his bed and runs over to his nightstand to grab out a First AID kit.
"I never knew you had one, too." I say, giggling softly. "Yeah, I have one." He says, smiling while opening the medium sized white plastic First AID kit box and grabbing tools out. "We're different yet the same." I state. "Of course we are." He agrees.
Justin phone begins to buzz and he ignores it, and focuses on pressing a small and fluffy cloth of acholic on my sore knee. I wince and quickly move away. "I'm sorry." He apologizes, quietly.
"It's alright. Hey, aren't you going to get that?" I ask, curiously with a small smile as I point to the buzzing and moving phone in his pocket.
"Nope." He says, quickly, shrugging carelessly. "Why not?" I ask. Why do I ask so many questions?,
I think to myself. "Because I'm spending time with you. With the most beautiful girl. And I don't want any to ruin this moment." He explains, truthfully with a small smile. This shows me that he is approving and I'm happy as ever that he is changing and changing for not just the best, but for me.
"Wow." Is all I can really say. I can't believe Justin would say that, I mean I know I'm pretty and all but, I'm beautiful. But, he makes me feel beautiful, safe, frustrated, angry, jealous, but most of all love him to the moon and back.
After he cleans my knee, he puts a band aid on my knee and stashes his First AID kit back up in his nightstand.
"Since skateboarding didn't work out as I had planned, would you like to watch a movie instead." He suggests, with a huge grin.
"Sure, but it depends on what type of movies do you have." I explained.
"I have The Hangover, Pineapple Express, Good Luck Chuck, Super bad, Kick Ass, and Kick Ass 2." He says
"You have the worst taste in movies, Justin." I laugh, softly.
"No I don't. Just because I don't watch The Notebook or a chick flick like you. I suddenly have the bad taste in movies." He remarks, laughing. "Yep." I laugh.
After playfully arguing over who has the worst taste in movies which I win and Justin loses, we end up watching Superbad.
I rest my head on Justin's chiseled chest and I listen to his heart beating slowly, his light snoring, and chest rising and falling while I watch the end of Superbad by myself.
I am little tired and if course from today's episode of Mel is bad at everything so I should take a nap but, I need to set a alarm for me to wake up so I can go to Madison's Engagement party tonight, I think to myself.
I dig into my jeans pocket and grab my phone out, beginning to set a alarm for tonight.
I grab the white sheets and cover I and Justin with them. I listen to his heart beat slowly as I drift to sleep slowly and peacefully.
(I think this was too long but, Idk really but, anyway the songs for this chapter is Lana Del Rey- Blue Jeans, Halsey-Ghost, Justin Bieber-Company, and Taylor Swift-Red)
