Chapter 44
The Underground Indie Scene
The day goes by fast and I am feeling exhausted and tired by the time I get back to The Dorms building. I am exhausted because of going to classes and learning so much and I tired of playing these silly and stupid games with Justin. But, I'm not giving up that easy. And the sun is going down slow while the big and bright moon takes its place.
I twist the knob open and walk inside to find Bailey, Caitlin, Tyler, Brandon, and Claire sitting on the floor altogether watching Trainwreck while sipping on Starbucks coffee and eating blueberry muffins.
I walk over to my bed and flop down tiredly and sigh, I take my hair out of its ponytail and rake my small fingers through my hair in stress, frustration, and panic.
"Hey, Mel. What's wrong with you?" Caitlin, asks. The worry and panic is thick and deep in her bright and bubbly voice. "Nothing. Just a little exhausted from today." I admit, truthfully. "Yeah, I know how you feel. At WSU, you can get easily drained from everything." Bailey says.
"Ugh. I thought WSU was going to be fun. It's stressing me out." I whine, sounding like a little child. "I feel so bad for you, Mel." Tyler says, sadly.
"Me too." Brandon adds, giving me a sympathetic smile. I don't dare to make eye contact with Claire who is see out in the corner of my eye is just staring at me with small and sad smile.
"We, maybe you should come to The Underground Indie Scene." Bailey suggests. "What is that?" I ask, curiously with wide and round wonderstruck eyes. "It is a cross between a bar and coffeeshop for indie artists and bands to play music.
It's really cool and quite relaxing yet fun. And, Lana Del Rey once was spotted there having a drink and watching a band play." Bailey explains, excitedly with a small smile.
"Count me in." I say, quickly with a huge smile. We walk out of I and Caitlin's dorm altogether side by side, down the hallway of The Dorms, and outside into the freezing air.
I and Brandon jump into Caitlin's car as Bailey and Claire climb into Tyler's car and we end up sprinting down the quiet and empty streets of downtown Wisconsin.

"This is The Underground Indie Scene." Bailey announces, with sweet smile on her face. I, Caitlin, Claire, Bailey, Tyler, and Brandon stand in a overcrowded parking lot in cold and windy outside staring at a coffee shop with a light blue neon sign that says: The Underground Indie Scene.
We push open the glass doors and walk in inside The Underground Indie Scene. Inside The Underground Indie Scene, is a stage with microphone and a string of instruments, small and round tables, booths, and a bar section. People fill most of tables and the bar section drinking black coffee and Budlight beers.
It smells like beer, cigarettes, coffee, and peppermint and I crinkle my nose at the cringe-worthy smell.
This is so hipster, I think to myself.
Posters of Lana Del Rey, Halsey, The 1975, Troye Sivan, Sia, and many more other indie pop and alternative Pop icons and colorful neon signs take up most of the walls in The Underground Indie Scene.
As we walk pass the table towards the bar section of The Underground Indie Scene, Shocking, evil, mean, harsh, and surprise stares, glances, and looks are given to I and Claire but, I could careless at what people say or think about me. Ugh, I hate people staring me, it makes feel so insecure and small
, I think to myself.
We all walk over to the bar section and take a seat on the light brown wooden stools. A handsome male bartender with light brown shaggy hair, pale skin, and a bright smile comes out of the blue. "How can I help you?" The handsome bartender asks.
"Can we have a couple of beers?" Bailey asks, politely.
"Sure thing I'll be right back" The handsome male bartender assures and then disappears into the back of the bar section. "Do you want a beer, Mel?" Claire asks me, softly. I'm trying ignore her for what she did to me but, here she is trying to be nice to me and everything.
Instead of answering her simple question, I walk away quickly to head for the door and I can hear Claire's footsteps behind me. She grabs my small wrist and yanks me back furiously and fearlessly. "What the hell did I tell you about touching me?" I snap, angrily.
"I said I was sorry. What do you want me to do to show you I'm sorry Mel?" She asks, madly. "Stay the hell away from me." I spit. "No I won't. You are my friend." Claire says, softly. "My former friend." I bark.
"Mel, can you please give me one more chance please." She begs, sadly.
I do feel bad and guilty for talking and acting like this towards Claire but, I don't know what to think right now.
Give her a chance, Mel, my subconscious tells me. "Okay, I will give you one more chance and I'm sorry for acting like a bitch. Now give me a hug." I demand, nicely.
She leans in for a warm and soft hug and I hug her tightly. "I'm sorry." She whispers, quietly in my ear. "Me too." I whisper back.
I forgive, but, I will never ever forget,
I tell myself.
We walk back over to the bar section side by side with small smile on our faces. Our friends have confusion spread across their faces with their jaws dropped and mouths open wide.
"What was that all about guys?" Bailey asks, curiously. "Nothing. I'm just glad to have my best friend back. That's all." I say, with a bright smile and wrap my short arm around Claire's shoulder.
After a few moments later, the male bartender returns with a platter of beers for my friends and they grab it, beginning to gulp it down.
"Can I have a beer please?" I ask, politely with a sweet smile. All of my friends turn around with shocked and happy expressions. "What?" I ask, playfully sounding irradiated and annoyed.
A buzz sounding comes from my phone and I know that it is Justin, but, I'm not going to answer it.
"Hey, aren't you going to get that?" Caitlin asks, pointing to the phone buzzing around in my pocket uncontrollably.
"Not tonight." I say, smirking, and grabbing the beer from the male bartender to take a huge sip.

Justin's POV.
Why the fuck hasn't she text me back yet?, I ask myself. Probably because you were being childish and jealous today towards her and Ethan, My subconscious suggests. I'm outside of Jose apartment standing on his porch staring at the text I had sent Mel five minutes ago:
Where the hell are you at?
Bizzle
"Justin! Get in here Lindsay's taking her top off!" Jose shouted. I twist the door knob open and walk. Cigarettes, lust, beer, and pot fill the airwaves and topless WSU cheerleaders flood Jose's apartment.
Damn, I wish I didn't do that to Mel, but, that Ethan or Evan guy needed to know that she was mine and will always be mine, I think to myself.
Sean hands me a red cup of liquor and take a sip of it slowly. Justin, Maybe you should stop suffocating and worrying about her, just for tonight, My subconscious suggests.
Sean and Jasper smoking cigarettes while watching topless WSU cheerleaders dance sexually on top of a round strip poker table. Jose is getting a blowjob from Lindsay in the kitchen and Max
A red-haired cheerleader grabs my large wrist and leads me to a back room. We walk into a bedroom and shut and lock the door.
I sit my half-empty red cup of liquor on top of a dark brown nightstand. It reminds me like the one in Mel's dorm,
I think to myself. Why can't I get her out of my head?, I ask myself.
Because you love her, My subconscious tells me. I just ignore my subconscious and focus on this red-haired cheerleader sliding her hand in jeans and grabbing my thigh length.
I unzip and jeans and watch them fall down along with my white and tight Calvin Klein underwear drop down to my ankles. She wraps her small mouth around my huge and thick length.
I moan softly, throw my head back, and try not to think of Mel.

Mel's POV.
After drinking up a third round of beers, We take our seats at a large and round coffee table and begin to chitchat. The Underground Indie Scene goes silence once a young woman wearing a black crop top, a red, black, and white checkered plaid shirt, ripped and tight black skinny jeans, and black thick framed glasses.
Her light brown hair is pinned up in a ballerina bun and she has a lip ring walks onto the stage and grabs a mic.
That punk hipster is quite beautiful, I think to myself.
"Hello, everyone and welcome to The Underground Indie Scene." The female punk hipster says, happily.
Everyone applauses, cheers, claps, and whistles loudly almost enough bust my eardrum.
Wow, indie pop, indie rock, and alternative pop music must be a huge thing in downtown Wisconsin just like basketball and Starbucks, I think to myself.
"I'm Alice and I'm owner, founder, and creator of The Underground Indie Scene. Tonight, we have a special performance for you by a LA based indie and alternative pop band called The Pretty Homewreckers." Alice announces, excitedly.
The crowd claps softly as four hipster girls who are dressed in different types of plaid, hats, Vans, and crop tops walks up on stage. The first girl has a guitar, the second one has drums, the third one has a piano, and the last one grabs the mic.
"I'm Elena and we are The Pretty Homewreckers. This is our new self-written song If I Had Stayed. Enjoy." Elena says, excitedly with a wicked smile. Elena has dark blue, vibrant green, and hot pink short and gelled hair, pale skin, and a couple of tattoos that flooded her arms. Once she opens her mouth and begins to sing and The Pretty Homewreckers begins to play their instruments, everyone is moved including me.
Everyone is nodding their heads slowly and tapping their toes to the unique indie and alternative pop song that The Pretty Homewreckers are singing. Elena's, who is suspect is the lead singer of The Pretty Homewreckers, voice is combination of soft and melodramatic, it could be compared to Lana Del Rey and Halsey.
I always knew I could sing but, I just wanted to show my talent and inquire voice because I didn't want anyone to think different of me and my fear of stage fright. But, I noticed that fear of stage fright had gone away when I and Justin had sung up on the stage of Karaoke Superstar Singer.
I wonder if I sho
Ethan!!! Oh no, I think to myself.
My subconscious begins to panic uncontrollably.
"They are really good." I admit, whispering to Claire. "I know right." She agrees. "Hey, Claire what time is it?" I ask her, softly. I don't know. My phone is dead." She whispers.
I curse under my breathe in and I snatch my phone out of my pocket and it is almost 8. "Well, guys it's getting late and I really have to get up early so Caitlin can you take me home please?" I ask, politely. I don't know why I just lied to my friends, but, i did anyway, I think to myself.
"Sure, let's go." Caitlin whispers. We get up out of her seats and wave goodbye and give warm hugs to our friends before we push the doors open and walk into the cold and freezing windy night.
