Chapter 43
A Lot Of Classes & Ethan
I walk into Ms. Brownfield's class to find a sea of students sitting down in desks, talking to each other, or listening to music but, as usual Ms. Brownfield isn't hear and she's late like always.
I take a seat down at a desk in the middle section of the classroom and put in my earbuds in and I began to listening to Lana Del Rey songs on my iPod.
A few moments later, Ms. Brownfield walks in with a brown suitcase and a copy of Jane Eyre with a bookmark in it and I quickly pop out earbuds and stuff them into my crossbody bag along with my iPod. "Good morning, students." Ms. Brownfield says, happily.
The students including me greet Ms. Brownfield with smiles and "Hello's" as they quickly take their seats in the desks.
Ethan comes in behind and his the bruises and marks that once flooded his handsome face has slowly begun to healed and his beginning to look like himself again. "Morning, Mel." He says, softly. "Morning." I say, happily.
He takes his seat in a desk beside me and class quickly begins.
"Okay, we, students starting next week on Tuesday the day after the due date of your Wuthering Heights book report we will start using our journals. We will use journals to write down notes, tips, and many more helpful things. Each day in my class we will talk and discuss a book and you will write down how it relates to your everyday life. This is will be worth half of your grade this semester." Ms. Brownfield announces.
This sounds fun and I love to write so this semester will probably be excited and wonderful, I think to myself. A tall, lean, and muscular guy with platinum blonde hair, tattoos, and a snapback walks in. I instantly know who it is. It is Justin Bieber.
Justin Bieber walks in wearing a black T-shirt, red snapback, red ripped skinny pants, and a pair of red Converse.
Justin smiles at me sweetly and smile back and once he sees Ethan, his smile turns into a angry and frustrated frown. I have a gut feeling that this isn't going to end well. Not at all.
Justin takes a seat in a desk behind me and there is so much tension in the air right now and I'm completely almost shaking in my Converse.
"Hey, Mel." Justin says, happily.
"Hello, Justin." I say, softly and flatly, not turning around to face him. "And, it's Evan is it?" Justin asks, innocently smiling and trying play dumb and stupid like an idiot. "It's Ethan, actually." He snaps, angrily.
"Oh yea. Cool, Evan." I can hear the jealousy, fear, and sarcasm in his smooth voice and I don't like it at all.
Ethan balls his fists up and I watch as they slowly turn pale white.
I thought we were over playing these childish and pointless games of cat and mouse and Friends With Benefits with one another but, obviously Justin is showing me that I was wrong all along.
"Hey, Mel, you want to go to the movies after classes?" He asks, loudly, loud enough for Ethan to hear it and almost everyone in the whole classroom. "No, and can you please be quiet. We're in class if you haven't noticed." I whisper, harshly.
"Whatever, Mel. I'll just go ask and take Tori." He taunts me, purposely.
"Good luck. Good for you." I say, shrugging carelessly. My voice is full of pain and loss instead of sounding fearless and powerful.
I'm trying to picture Justin and Tori, at the movies together but, I do anyway and makes me mad and sad all at the same exact time.
"I might even fuck her tonight." He whispers into my ear softly. "I don't care. Do what you want. I don't care." I lie, biting my bottom lip nervously.
"Sure you don't, Mel." He whispers back.
Of course I care, I think to myself.

Class ends early as Justin quickly gets up and begins to make his way to the door I and Ethan begin to chitchat amongst ourselves. "Hey, Mel do you want to come over, eat pizza, and watch a couple movies with me?" Ethan asks, nicely. His voice is hopeful and strong with confidence.
"Yes." I answer. I can feel Justin's eyes burned on me but, I don't care. He needs to know that what goes around, comes around. "How about you come around at eight?" He asks, excitedly.
"Eight sounds great. I can't wait." I exclaim. "Okay, cool." He says, with a small smile.
We walk over to the door of Ms. Brownfield's classroom and walk past Justin, who has a shocked and angry look plastered on his perfect face, into the hallway of The Classes building "Bye, Justin." I say, happily, giving him a flawless fake smile.
I grab ahold of Ethan's hand and begin to hold it as we make our way down the hallway of The Classes to our next class and I turn back around to find an angry and jealous Justin with his fists balled up at his sides.
There seems do be something always popping up and ruining what we are working and I'm almost on the edge of giving up but, not now.
I will win this ruthless, frustrating, magical, and mad man game of cat and mouse and Friends With Benefits between I and Justin.
Everyone knows love is a ruthless game and if you don't play it right or win, you will lose, I think to myself.
