Moving In
Jasmine's POV
My ideal place was not living with two guys in an apartment. It was living with my two gal pals and now that's coming true. I saw the basement in the sorority house and it's huge! So duh I'm going to ask to move in. I get free rent and the only thing I have to do is be the stylist for the girls in the house. Hell yeah! I am so hyped for this! Like I'm shaking I'm so excited. I know Jane and Lizzy aren't going to be too surprised, but they sure will be happy! Oh my goodness I just can't wait!
It's the next morning and I'm packing right now with the help of Sebby and Tyler. Tanner also came over to help because he's moving into my room. Before packing away my tall vanity mirror, I look over my outfit today for good first impressions. I made most of it myself. I am wearing a white frill top with a black floral print, light blue jean shorts with a tribal design on it, shimmery gold converse, and a gold heart shaped locket. How I made this outfit I remember being a lot of fun. First the top I just made. The shorts I bought as pants, cut them into shorts, and added the design. Although the shoes were my favorite project. Before they were just boring old white, but I took spray paint to them and made them way better. It took a lot of time for the shoes to be done, but it was totally worth it. The locket was actually given to me from Sebby when we dated. Wow, that's a blast from the past. Okay so Sebby and I started to date when he found out that I was gay. We talked about it and I just wasn't ready to come out. In fact I was ashamed of it. I thought there was something wrong. I grew up in a really religious and homophobic family. It took several years, but they finally accepted me. Anyways, Sebby also had a stalker. A girl that was CRAZY obsessed with him. She even sent me death threats. I think she's working at McDonald's now. So, yeah. But that's how we ended up dating. I didn't really mind that my parents didn't accept me at first. All that mattered and still matters is that my two best friends did and still do. I don't know what I would do without them. Also it's why I'm so excited to move in with them. I'm going to get sappy here, but I have known these girls since pre-k and all I ever wanted to do was make them proud. They're like the family I always needed. It's important for me to be close to them. I got accepted into a top notch fashion school, where fashion designers just randomly show up looking for new employers. I didn't even give a second thought to that. I knew when I got accepted to this university I would go no matter what, because Lizzy and Jane got accepted. They're my support system, the two people I love the most in my family. I might call them my best friends, but in my book they'll always be my sisters.
Okay, sappy moment over. Gross, am I right? I'm all packed up. Really happy I don't have to share an apartment with two guys anymore. Also really happy that I get to share a room with my two best friends and I live in a house with sorority girls. I'm not big on the Greek system, in fact I don't really care for it, but those girls are hella hot.
I drove over to the house and began to unpack. I grabbed some lighter stuff and knocked on the door. I had a big smile on my face and this tall girl with dark brown eyes and long black hair answered. She was wearing a black skirt with a front knot baseball tank, black and tan flip flops, and silver earrings with a feather detail. She is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in this entire school.
"Can I help you?" she asked with a smile.
Even her smile is beautiful.
"Yeah, hi. I'm Jasmine Willowhive. I'm moving into the basement and I'm the new stylist here."
"Oh! Sweet! I've been hearing so much about you and I just can't wait to get a make over by you!" She said excited, "By the way, I'm Serenity Moon. Just call me Serenity."
"Sounds like a plan, Serenity," I smiled back trying to keep my cool.
She let me in and began to help me unpack. So did Lizzy and Jane. Lizzy was wearing her favorite bright red skinny jeans with a denim tie crop top, black converse, and a white rock hand hat. Jane was wearing dark blue ripped skinny jeans with a tan loose sweater that has a pineapple on it, black sandals, and a silver necklace. I didn't unpack everything just because there was so much and Wendy wanted to see Jane, Lizzy, and I for a meeting. It's probably just to go over the ground rules. Ugh, rules. I hate them. Yeah, yeah we need some, but others are pointless. All of us went up to Wendy's room. She was wearing blue skinny jeans with a white crop top t-shirt, a gold cuff and nude lace up stilettos. I would like to point out that everyone looks really nice today! So, we sat in the big leather chairs, waiting for Wendy to speak. It felt very professional. None of us were really dressed for something professional... Oops.
"Okay, ladies! I just have some ground rules," Wendy said with a big and bright smile.
I knew it.
"Just simple stuff. Like, always clean up after yourself, don't drink too much," she looked directly at Jane when she said that, "If you're going to have a boy over, please make sure it is quiet, like no one knows that hes here. Since you girls live in the basement with your bathroom, boys are welcome to stay the night. That's pretty much it. Always remember that you three are now representing this sorority and it is in your best interest to make us look nice."
We all nodded. I hope this is the end of the meeting. I want to find Serenity and just thank her for helping me move in. That's it, I swear. It's not like I'm going to snoop around and find out if she's gay. Why would I do that? Pssh. I would never do something like that.
"One more thing I want to talk to you girls about."
Ugh! I thought we were done.
"The rush party. Jasmine and Lizzy, you two will be our honorary sorority sisters. Tomorrow I'm going over all of the signs to look for while at the party. There are two main ones: the legacy sign and not worth it sign."
"Alright, great. You don't mind that I head out, do you? I'm going with Leona to get some more supplies," Lizzy said, standing up getting ready to leave.
Wendy looked at Lizzy with the same smile she had earlier, "While you're out, you should buy something nice for the party."
Lizzy looked at her confused and a little offended.
"I don't want to be rude, its just that you're outfit is a little punk, not sweet girl with class."
"Say one more thing about my style and I will make sure you get zero pledges," she snapped.
Yeah, Lizzy is one who can get easily offended. Whenever something like this happens, she always has to voice her own opinion. Sometimes it's not good. Wendy backed off and let Lizzy go. I think she realized that it was just a mistake to mention Lizzy's style. Wendy let us go. I started my search for Serenity. I knocked on every door in the house and she was nowhere. Might as well make myself a sandwich and head to my room to get a head start on my fashion projects. I made the sandwich and headed into the basement. That's where I saw someone just looking at everything on my side of the basement. To my surprise and excitement, it was Serenity. I put my food down and walked up to her.
"Enjoying the view?" I asked.
All I have set up is my bed and some mannequins with unfinished designs on them. I love all my work, even if it's the worse thing in the world. At least I made it.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. You just have such a great talent," she responded, memorized.
I nodded, "Yeah, I knew I wanted to do this since I was just a baby."
"I wish I knew what I wanted to do. I tell my sisters that I'm an interior design major, but I'm really in Liberal Arts."
"There's nothing wrong with that," I added.
"When you come from a poor family and barely got into the best sorority on campus, it's a huge deal. I'm only at this school because I got a scholarship. I could barely afford to go to community college."
"Seriously?" I was shocked.
Serenity seems so rich and living the high life.
"I'm sure you don't want to hear about my life story."
"I do. Maybe a time when we're both not doing anything, we could go out and find somewhere to watch the stars and just talk."
She smiled, "That is the best idea I've heard since I got here."
We both laughed. She got called upstairs for some sister stuff and I began working on some sketches. For the longest time my mind was running a blank. Why couldn't I get any sketch ideas in mind? I know I have a lot of things I need to draw, but I just don't know how I want them to look. You feel me? Well, might as well go outside and try to get ideas from there. I don't know why, but I always end up outside when I have sketcher's block. Luckily for me, it's a nice and hot day out. I grabbed my color pencils and sketchbook and went outside. I sat close to the sidewalk in the grass and began to look at everyone. It's fun to just sit down and examine people. Whenever I do that, I just give them a slight backstory. As I was watching people, I saw Alice running up. She was looking good in her red Nike sports bra, black running shorts and grey running shoes. She had a matching plain grey Nike hat on as well to keep the sun out of her eyes. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail as well, which was a very athletic and good look for her. She got up to me and took out her earbuds.
"What'cha doing?"
"Just trying to sketch some new outfits, you?"
"Uh, isn't it obvious? I just got back from a run."
I giggled, "I know that silly, I was just trying to be nice."
"Just wish it wasn't so hot."
I nodded, "Yeah, the heat sometimes sucks. You always run?"
"Sometimes. I like having a great body and showing it off," she smirked just a tad.
I smiled, "Well, you look awesome."
I'm actually really happy that Alice runs, especially in that. The reason why I love the fact that she runs is because runners are always hot and have the best bodies. Damn it, I knew this would happen. Living in a house with all girls is like my kryptonite. Most of them are just so beautiful and I knew I was going to end up liking more than one. Well, look where we are now.
"Thanks," she replied and was about to go inside but stopped and looked at me, "Do you want to get some coffee with me sometime?"
"Totally!"
"Cool," she smiled and went inside.
I'm not exclusive with anyone. I'm not even dating anyone. So, why not have some fun and go on a few dates? I have my whole life to find my soulmate. But studies do show that you have a higher chance of finding your soulmate in college.
My phone started to ring. It was Sebby. I picked up and listened. He wanted to hang out. I said totally and told him to come to the house. He was kind of excited to see the house. He might not show it, but I know he is, even if it's just a little bit. I waited outside for him and continued to sketch. About twenty minutes later he showed up, wearing grey jeans with a green tank top that had little trees on it, black converse, a black leather bracelet, and his colorful skateboard. I stood up and smiled.
"I love how the skateboard does not match at all."
He smiled, "Well, I don't want people to think I'm boring."
"Come on! I want to show you the house!" I grabbed his hand and we ran inside.
We stopped after we got in. Sebby was so amazed by the house.
"This. This is huge."
I nodded, "Let me show you my room!"
I brought him down to the basement where Jane had headphones on and was reading a book. She looked up and smiled at us, then went back to her book. That's classic Jane, always avoiding conversation. Sebby and I went over to my side. He offered to finish helping me unpack. I was so happy that he did. It's not that I'm lazy, it's just that I don't want to do it. We eventually finished unpacking and just sat on my bed.
"We should a small housing warming party. Just our friends and we hang out in the basement."
"I'll run that by the president, but you know Aiden is going to be stuck upstairs socializing with the girls."
He shrugged, "As long as he comes."
"So, what do you want to do."
"I have to take a test online for one of my classes. It's due at midnight tonight and I just don't want to do it."
"A test already? Didn't the class start a week ago?" I questioned.
He nodded, "It's not that bad. Better than going into a class and having to see actual people."
"Wait, isn't this the class that you failed last semester?"
"Yeah."
"Didn't you also embarrass yourself when you did a song confessing that you liked a girl that actually had a boyfriend and-"
"Jasmine, I remember that moment all too well," he interrupted me.
"Oh, sorry," I replied.
He stood up, "You know, I'm going to head out. Might as well get this test over with."
I just nodded and let him go.
"Hope you have that little get together," Sebby smiled, then left.
I can't believe I just did that to him. He must be so embarrassed. I sat up on my bed and looked at Jane, who had her headphones off.
"Nice one," she added.
I rolled my eyes and laid back down. God damn it. I always do this. I always mention something that I shouldn't. I guess that's the problem with having ADHD. I do have to take pills to control it, but I kind of lost them... Again. It's not my fault the pills are so small! They're probably at the apartment. I'll just go tomorrow and get them. What could possibly happen? I know none of the guys take drugs, except for Tanner, who occasionally smokes pot. But that's really about it. It'll be perfect going there tomorrow, I can invited everyone to the little party. The party will be a lot of fun and make Sebby forget I ever said anything. We'll go back to our normal friendship.
"Do you think Wendy will let us have a get together?"
Jane shook her head, "I'll talk to her tomorrow though. I'll just mention Aiden and I'm sure she'll be on board."
I smiled and thanked her. Jane does know Wendy better anyways. So, now I'm just going to sketch and get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a way better day.
