FORTY-THREE

LONDON, 12 GRIMWAULD PLACE.                    KITCHEN.

It was finally Christmas Day and all of the teens were seated inside of 12 Grimwaulds places' kitchen, up the kitchen table watching Molly Weasley carry her husband towards the table in a wheelchair, his blots of scars had seemed to of healed more quicker but he still had a large puffy right eye. But despite his unfortunate state he wore a Christmas jumper and paper hat from muggle crackers

"Here we go! Daddy's back!" Molly smiled towards her children as well as Hermione and y/n. The children all clapped upon his arrive, watching as the adult man smile towards the children. "Sit down everybody! Sit down!" She told the children, standing beside her husband, the children all began to sit themselves down. "Now presents," Mrs. Weasley smiled, handing y/n, Hermione's and Ginny's first before handing Fred and George, not worrying too much which was which.

"nice big box for Ron," Arthur announced, looking at the expression on his youngest sons face.

"Big box," Molly repeated, watching as all boxes sat in front of them. "Come on open up, I want to see your faces! Go on try them on," she watched gleefully at the the children, all trying on their new pieces of clothing. "Come on now everyone let's clear away!" She called out, grabbing onto scraps of paper and went to throw them away. "Oh! Oh, Harry!" She spoke, Harry's frame came into view, Sirius just behind, both smiling. The woman smothered him in a nice, motherly hug she always gave, handing over his present. "Happy Christmas!" She told him, he smiled back.

"Thank you," Harry thanked, looking down at the regular first initial jumper he traditionally was given.

"Toast!" Arthur announced holding his glass up, the children copied, looking towards the ginger man. "A Christmas toast, to Harry Potter!" He smiled, the children looked to the green eyed boy, who stood quite shocked. "Without whom, I wouldn't be here today," Arthur raised his glass and took a sip. Everybody else cheered along, y/n walked over and hugged her brother with Mrs. Weasleys jumper already on.

-

Harry and y/n wondered around the small narrow house together, the Teenage boy with the Lightning scar was most definitely the one to give the idea of exploring to y/n since Harry was one to snoop.

Harry wore a plain grey hoodie with baggy blue jeans, taking the lead into spare rooms, y/n stood behind with a similar outfit: a large brown cardigan with blue jeans on underneath, hand inside of the pockets.

The teens had visited Buckbeak after two years, both bowing down as the hippogriff copied, allowing the teens which he'd knew all too familiar to stroke at his beak happily. Their next room was a large empty one. It had a tree run around the wall with names and faces on different branches.

"How dare Harry Potter stand inside of my mistresses home, helping more half-bloods and Mudblood's into the home, Harry Potter got rid of mistresses boss, Voldemort and y/n Black was born from a disappointment to my mistress-" the small house elf with a saggy chin and a long hooked nose sneered at the teenagers only to be stopped when Sirius Black called down at him from the staircase.

"Kreacher, enough of your vileness!" Sirius yelled, Kreacher nodded and began to bow.

"Yes master, Kreacher serves the master of the noble house of black," he announced, his master raised a brow at him and walked into the doorway of the room Harry and y/n stood inside of, the evil house elf sneered whilst leaving.

"Sorry about him, he wasn't always pleasant, especially when I was a boy," Sirius spoke, the teens eyebrows both raised.

"You grew up here?" Harry asked, Sirius nodded looking at the walls of the room

"This is my parents homes, I offered it to Dumbledore as headquarters for the order, it's about the only useful thing I've been able to do," The older man sighed, walking inside. "it's the black family tree," He announced, they watched the man walk back and continue to look at the wall. "my deranged cousins, I hated the lot of them, my parents with this pure-blood tradition," He continued as he pressed his index finger towards the burned marks which had Sirius name just underneath "My mother did that after I ran away, Charming woman, I was sixteen," he put his hand by his side again, staring at his place on the tree.

"It's it acceptable to call my grandmother an evil bitch?" Y/n asked, looking at where her grand-mothers place was, Sirius looked to his daughter and chuckled.

"I'll allow it," He responded, a smile grew on y/n's face.

"Where did you go?" Harry asked, Sirius' and y/n's smiles faded at the serious question.

"To your dads, they was always welcomed me, the potters," He smiled down to the Raven haired boy. "I see him so much in you Harry, you are so very much alike," Sirius continued meanwhile, Harry's fingertips began to shake

"I'm not so sure," Harry responded, y/n and Sirius' brows furrowed. "Sirius, when I...when I saw Mr. Wealsey attacked, I wasn't just watching, I was the snake," He announced, letting out a shaky breath. "And afterwards in Dumbledores office, there was a moment where I want to-to," He paused but his hand gesture helped the father and daughter understand since Harry clenched his fist and stopped himself from swinging. "this connection between me and Voldemort... What if I'm becoming more like him, I'm angry all the time, and what if after everything I've been through, somethings gone wrong, inside me, what if I'm becoming bad," Harry began to ramble, Sirius placed his large hands on both of the boys arms, looking at him straight in the eyes his mother gave him.

"I want you to listen to me very carefully, Harry, you're not a bad person, you're a good person which bad things happen to, you understand?" Sirius reassured the teenage boy, who nodded, Sirius let go of his arms. "Besides if the world was split in two, the good people and the death eaters, we've both got good and bad people inside of us," he told Harry but y/n listened carefully too. "what matters if what part you choose to act on, that's who we really are," Sirius announced, looking towards both of the teenagers, they nodded.

"Harry, y/n time to go," Hermione knocked on the door, her head poking through and smiled, Sirius lead Harry towards the door.

"When all of this is over, we'll all be a proper family, you'll see," Sirius told the boy, he nodded in agreement as he felt Sirius' arms wrap around him, in a protective, father like hug. Harry needed the comfort, he desperately needed to release his feelings.

Y/n remained still as she watched them hug, turning towards the Black family tree once more. She watched as their was a branch next to Sirius' name, with another burned out image of Glinda Delacour, only showing her name but a small branch connected the two names and it showed an image of y/n's face with her name just underneath. Walburga Black mustn't of been alive once y/n was born seeing as her face looked fresh.

Her eyes wondered to another link of Walburga's and Orion which had a black haired boys face paler and non-moving and had the name Regulus Black. It was her uncle, who seemed to be dead by the looks of the tapestry. She looked towards Bellatrix Lestrange's name and sighed, realising she had an extremely loyal death eater in her family, she looked at Narssica Malfoy's and saw two branches connected to hers, which was Lucius and Draco Malfoy.

Lastly she looked at another burned out name with the name Andromeda Tonks underneath, her branches was connected to a man named Ted Tonks and surprisingly his face was burned so badly it went into the wall, y/n looked as both of their branches connected to show the name Nymphadora Tonks, her face also burned out.

"You alright Darling?" Sirius asked, y/n turned her head, Harry and Hermione left the room knowing she'll catch up with them.

"What's Andromeda to you?"

"An inspirational woman, she's my cousin who fell in love with a muggle-born, breaking the tradition of our strong bloodline, my family absolutely despised her guts, and during this time I was sorted into Gryffindor rather than Slytherin, we were able to really relate with each other since we were left out of the family the most," he explained to y/n gawking at the burn make across her portrait.

"I have her name as my middle one," y/n spoke, walking away from the tapestry.

"Really? Must've been your mothers idea," Sirius suggested, watching as his daughter nodded, he felt into his pocket as they left the room. "these also came through the window with Veró the other night," He spoke, holding up a small box with a card just above it.

"Neville!" Y/n announced, the gift being handed to her.

"That's who it was," Sirius realised, watching as his daughter opened the small box up to see a small chain with a ring at the end, a small five pound note above it. She ripped open the card and saw a happy Christmas message for her, and a small P.S on how Neville got his Wizard money exchange for Muggle ones for y/n. "Sweet," Sirius said, y/n put the box inside of her pocket with a smile.

"Dad?" Y/n spoke up, placing the box into her coat pocket, watching as her and Sirius theft the room, the handsome man shutting the door behind him. "How did you know I was alive? Well I mean, how did you know that mum died?" She suddenly asked, catching Sirius off guard.

"Oh, well it's quite the long one actually," he shrugged slightly. "I went back home that night we argued, figured it was really stupid of me to argue over something that was serious and meaningful to her, and I had bought her flowers and was ready to apologise, when Slughorn came by and delivered the news," Sirius told her, y/n furrowed her brows at the name. "It was in this house too that he told me you don't make it, I was completely destroyed, didn't know what to think or do so I was offered round Lily and James very often, Remus and Peter was often there, and I had not a clue you was living there," he smiled, y/n returned it too. "And then when I found out that Voldemort had killed lily and James, it really screwed me over, so it's mostly why I decided to try and kill Peter, and whilst locked up in Azkaban i had a copy of the daily prophet with a massive title of Harry Potter being the boy who lived, as well as a child named y/n Potter," he paused, standing at the open doorway of 12 Grimwauld place. "Took me a while to figure out you was still alive," he finished. "And I don't know why Slughorn didn't just return you to me, but I feel like if he just did I wouldn't have gone and attacked Peter and kill 12 other muggles, I could've been more responsible instead of so reckless," Sirius announced, sighing into the cool winter breeze that brushed past them.

Y/n quickly enveloped her father into a tight hug, she was instead bubbling with guilt as to the fact she knew Glinda wanted y/n not near him, probably to teach him a lesson, but if she had been passed over he'd probably be a free man today and she'd actually be living with him in a safe environment and maybe in that house, where she could have her own room, but it wasn't the case, it was just in shambles.

"C'mon, let's go," She told her father as they both transformed animagi and left the house with their friends.

-

The Hogwarts year had continued, It's was the second day, last night was a fairly smooth train ride home. The feast were large and had everybody full, leaving the students to a peaceful sleep and allowing them to wake up to a beautiful sunny morning where Harry was with Cho Chang, having their own conversations as the rest of the Hogwarts students were heading to their dorms since classes had finished.

Hermione firstly grabbed y/n after the news, the two girls fetched their ginger friend and all three teens started to search the courtyard in attempt to find their other best friend in his Gryffindor robes.

It weren't too long before they saw the scruffy raven haired boy walking beside the Irish Asian girl, her black hair cascading down her back, covering her Ravenclaw robes. Hermione ran faster, Ron caught on and chased after, y/n huffing behind them and the bushy haired girl finally clutched onto Harry's arm where he turned suddenly.

"Harry! Hagrids back!" Hermione yelled, Harry's smile grew into a shocked expression, his glance turned to Cho who only smiled, beginning to walk alone. Harry pushed his friends past other Hogwarts students, and out on the bridge end of the courtyard. The teens began to race down the stairs and steadily chasing themselves down the steep hills of Scotland. Y/n and Hermione almost slipping from time to time however they all managed to run down the hills safely, about to barge inside of Hagrid's Hut until a voice left the house which the teenagers knew all too familiarly.

"We've asked you again, where have you been?" The pink, toad Umbridge questioned, Harry, Ron, Hermione and y/n ducked from the Windows view.

"I've already told you, been away for my health," Hagrid announced, Umbridge furrowed her brows, her sickly sweet smile returned.

"Ah yes, as game keeper, fresh air must be hard to come by, if I were you, I wouldn't get too used to being back, in fact," Umbridge smiled until it vanished, the teenagers stared through the glass window at she looked at Hagrid head to toe, her smile fading into a gag. "I might no even unpack at all," she announced, pulling off a small gig before waddling outside of the Hut, the three teens watched as she turned her top lip upwards, pulling out her pink perfume, spraying herself and Hagrids front door.

"Bastard," y/n whispered.

-

"This is top secret, Dumbledore sent me to party with the Giants," Hagrid announced, a slab of meat pressed against his freshly cut wounds that slashed across his face.

Harry, Hermione, Ron and Y/n all sat around their regular birch table, finally beginning to grow into the seats Hagrid had inside his small home. They all had a mug of tea placed in front of them, quite large as it was an average mug size for Hagrid, but they didn't mind, Hagrid made some beautiful tea now and then when they'd visit the Half-Giant.

"Giants?" Hermione exclaimed, Hagrids eyes bulged.

"Shh!" The man shushed, y/n finished sipping her warm tea and turned to Hagrid.

"You found one?" Y/n asked, the Man shrugged his shoulders, the chunk of meat firmly against his harsh wounds.

"Well they're not that hard to find, they're so perfectly big you see, tried to convince them to join the courts, and they wasn't the only ones to win them over," Hagrid spike miserably, Harry's bottom lip twitched.

"Death Eaters," Harry responded, Hagrid shook his head irritated.

"Yup," His voice sounded upset, but gave out a sigh. "Try a persuade them to join you know who," Hagrid announced, the teens eyes widened.

"Did they?" Ron asked, his hands around his mug expecting for warmth to fill his fingertips.

"I gave them Dumbledores message, though I don't remember them being keen to him I suppose," Hagrid shrugged, the teens listened at the news, Harry stared to his wounds that he was currently mending.

"Did they do this to you?" Harry asked lastly, Hagrid smiled at the Raven haired boy.

"Sadly no," The gatekeeper announced, Fang began to bark, his eyes on the chuck of meat Hagrid held, he scoffed, tossing the meat to his dog. "you have it then you dosey dog," Hagrid chuckled, everyone in the room watched as Fang chewed, enjoying his meal clearly as saliva dribbled down the dogs chin.

Hagrid stood up and turned to the window where dark thunder clouds looked ready to rumble, the teenagers followed behind him, looking at the hole inside of the glass from third year. Hagrid seemed timid to even look out at the weather before speaking: "It's changing out there, just like it did before, there's a storm coming Harry, and we'd all be ready for when she does,"

-

Neville and y/n paused their traditions of Hogsmeade and their money was quickly fading so their spent it revising inside of the Gryffindor common room, the majority of filth year were inside of the red room, music blasting from the Wizard Wirelesses on both ends of the room, Hermione sat with y/n and Neville, revising on her astronomy meanwhile y/n sat and revised for her Magical creatures, her second worst subject.

Hermione left as she had been needing to talk to Ron all day except he was down in Hogsmeade with Harry. Her bushy hair followed after the girl, but she turned to Harry and Ron who suddenly made an agreement. The wizard wireless sat in front of y/n and Neville, playing some random tune from the wicked sisters (y/n's and her fathers all time favourite wizard band) until some news suddenly began to play.

"In the early hours of yesterday's evening, four death eater have escaped from Azkaban," Cornelius Fudges voice spoke through the speaker as y/n's eyes widened, she looked to Neville who sat fiddling with his mimbulous and tending at it spikes. "We lay suspect that the breakout was another escapee from Azkaban, notorious mass killer Sirius Black," y/n rolled her eyes.

"Not again," she whined, shifting her attention towards the Magical Creatures revision opposite her.

"Bellatrix Lestrange, another escapee from Azkaban-" Cornelius fudges voice broke out again but this time the speaker volume was turned fully down, their hand ripping away from the volume switch. Y/n turned towards her friend with knitted brows, but noticed his frightened yet angry expressions.

"You good?" The girl asked, Neville looked at y/n's empathetic e/c eyes, the boys breath quickening.

"She's one of the followers, remember?" He quickly replied, y/n's eyebrows raised, her eyes switching from Neville to the wizard wireless, she sucked in a breathe.

"Hey don't worry about it-," She was cut off, seeing Neville fiddle with his rather large fingertips.

"I'm not worried, I'm just...angry," he responded, y/n gave the boy a small smile but he didn't notice it, seeing as his head swung low.

"You should be, a murderous lunatic is on the loose who tortured you parents-" y/n was again cut off to Neville's head shooting up and pulling his index finger towards his lips, leaving y/n alarmed. "Sorry," she quickly apologised.

Neville looked down once more, his eyes looked up to y/n's, watching as he sat timidly in his seat, y/n shifted on her chair to face them. Neville licked his lips, his lightly gelled hair had fallen over his eyes, unable to show y/n his worried look against his face, however she held at the boys shoulder, giving it a tight squeeze.

"Listen, you've been trained well enough to possibly defeat her, the DA has improved you so much," y/n confronted, a smile was against the girls face meanwhile she waited for the boys head to pop up: which he did.

"You think so?" Neville asked, his voice not even a whisper, but a smile grew against his lips. Y/n nodded as she began to continue:

"Of course, you should be proud Neville, and more or less prepared to defeat anybody that crosses your path," y/n announced, her hand slide from Neville's shoulder to his hands. She suddenly realised in that moment his large hands were completely worn out with dry flaky skin on the edges of his fingertips  that have been worked on too much. Y/n didn't mind, she enjoyed the feel of his hands embraced by hers.

"Thank you," Neville's cheeks burned up, his fingers covering over the back of her hand as she simply smiled at her friend.

"Not a problem," y/n responded, pinching the boys crimson red cheeks. "Also I forgot to thank you for the present, did you like mine?" She asked, the boy nodded, revealing the bracelet she made, it was small parts of fabrics tied together with a small gem in the middle, not very special Neville loved it, also with the blood lollipop that was included.

Y/n had decided that she had done enough revision for the night and had more knowledge than the hours before, she stood up and began to pick up her belongings, stacking her hard back library books that were old and had been swimming through dust and time together, shoving them inside her bag alongside her ink pot and scroll of parchment, closing the bag and held the strap over her shoulder, saying goodbye to Neville who had a pink dust against his cheeks as she headed off towards Hermione.

Hermione was standing with Ron and Harry, the three sitting by the fire seeing as Ron's and Harrys cheeks and nose were still pink from the bitter cold temperature outside, the trio sat beside the fireplace as Hermione knew equilibrium would help them warm up, Harry nodded but Ron furrowed his eyebrows.

"It's when two temperatures compromise in the body, God Ronald," y/n announced, Hermione giggled at her comment, the three watching her sit on the end of the couch.

"It's not my fault I don't know the science for muggles," Ron sneered, Harry only coughed and smirked.

"Trust me it's more difficult that divination and that's saying something," Harry spoke, Ron's eyes bulged, the ginger boy looked to Hermione as she nodded to him, the four teens laughed until a shadow casted over their bodies.

"Harry, y/n," the voice of Seamus Finnegan announced, the four looked up to see the small boy looking at the two directed teens with sorrow. "Look I'd like to say that I apologise, me and my mam have thrown away our subscription with the Daily Prophet, there news weren't adding up, so what I'm really trying to say is.. I believe you, and I also.." Seamus paused, crouching down so all four could listen, all having to lean inwards a bit more. "Want to join your club," The boy announced, y/n and Harry smiled, nodding. Hermione quickly pulled out the parchment full of name, Seamus adding his name to the other varieties.
