(a week later)

it was 5 pm and the girls and I are already getting ready for our concert. we are going to see The Vamps and we were absolutely ecstatic. sadly, all the meet and greet tickets were sold out but at least we got good seats.

after we ate dinner, we headed over to the arena and got in our seats ten minutes before the show started. the opening band finally came out on stage and introduced themselves and everyone screamed.

"for those of you who don't know us, I'm Reece." a northern accent speaks out.

"I'm George."

"I'm blake!" 

"and we're New Hope Club!" They say simultaneously. My head snaps over to where the blake boy is standing and... it's him. it's B. what is he doing on stage and in a band?!

"that's....him. that's my blake," I say to indie and Delilah and both their eyes look like they're going to pop out. 

"did you know about this?" Delilah asks, shocked and I shake my head. I decided I'd text him once he got off stage and enjoy their performance in the meantime.

I turn my phone off and continue on screaming and dancing to the vamps and basking in Brad's beauty. when it's time for the break, I quickly stand up from my seat. "I'll be right back," I say hurriedly. 

"wait, where are you going?" indie asks.

"shush, I'll tell you later!" I run up the stairs and to the backstage door without further adieu. I pull out my phone and text blake that I'm next to the door and he opens it right away. I run inside so he can't be spotted.

"even though I'm annoyed that you didn't tell me, I'm so proud! I didn't know you could sing!"

"Thanks!" he grins.

"please explain everything."

"Okay," he sighs. "when I moved, I started learning how to play guitar and I realized I was good at singing. didn't do much with it until I was an early teen and did covers on YouTube. I met my bandmate, George, and we started jamming out together and then in 2015, we met Reece and we decided to make a band. and... I guess we've had a pretty good reaction to it." he laughs at the last part.

"we've been texting for a week and you never told me about this!! why??" I playfully scold.

"I don't know... I just wanted you to see me as who you always have, just Blake Richardson. nothing else. I didn't want the fact that I'm a celebrity now get in the way." he explains.

"B, I would never look at you as anything else except my best friend and my ex." I give him a pointed look and he rolls his eyes with a smile on his face.

"oh yeah I forgot, here are some backstage passes." he hands me three lanyards and I take them. "they're for our close friends and family only. come back here after the show and show them to security, okay?" he says and I nod. "where are you sitting?" 

"I'm pretty close to the front."

"good, I'll be looking for you when I'm back on stage."

"you're going back on? why?" I smile.

"to sing Cecilia with the vamps. speaking of that, I should go get ready." he hugs me and takes off. I return to my seat, not being able to stop smiling. Delilah gasps when she sees me.

"you did not just go see him!!" I smirk at her response. "look at little Lani already moving on."

I laugh before saying, "we're gonna go meet everyone after the concert!" both my friends gasp almost drop all their belongings."

"if you're joking I'm going to murder you," Indie says.

"I second that," Delilah says and my only response is holding up the lanyards. they each grab one and put it around their neck before the show starts. we push our way to the front so I can see blake better. during Cecilia, blake finds me in the front and winks. I'm glad it was dark so he couldn't see the blush that was creeping up my cheeks. 

once the concert was done, we snuck backstage and security led us to where everyone was. Luckily, Blake saw us at the end of the hall so I ran to him and gave him a hard high five.

"owww," he says and we both laugh.

"good job once again! also, these are my two friends, indie and Delilah." I introduce them. "and indie, Delilah, this is Blake Richardson!"

"Good to meet you!" They both say and shake hands.

"you t-" Blake gets cut off by his bandmate walking out of the dressing room.

"Blake, wh- oh, who's this?" Reece asks.

"This is Leilani, we knew each other each in year two and these are her friends, Delilah and indie."

"Nice to meet you!" We shake hands with Reece before going into their dressing room to meet everyone else. After a couple minutes, Blake pulls me aside.

"Leilei, I was wondering if you wanted to go to dinner with me tomorrow night? To maybe catch u-"

"Of course! What time?" I grin.

"I'll pick you up at six?"

"I'm excited!"
