Halloween rolled around pretty quick. Not only was it Sawyers favorite holiday but it was also her birthday.

Sawyer stood In front of her mirror admiring her costume. Ashtray stood behind, towering over her.

"Did you take it?" Sawyer stopped her fake cheesy smile.

"Yes I already took a bunch." Ashtray spoke annoyed and slipped his phone into his pocket.

"Okay! Let's go." Sawyer walked out of her bedroom. Ashtray shut off her light and followed behind her.

Leslie got up from the couch and approached the two with a huge smile from ear to ear.

"Wait, wait, I need pictures." Leslie pulled her phone out.

"Mom." Sawyer groaned, "we already took a whole bunch."

Leslie gave Sawyer a look. Sawyer sighed and stood beside Ashtray leaning on him, he wrapped his arm around her.

"You guys look so cute."

Sawyer had convinced Ashtray to match costumes with her.

Sawyer had on a white body suit that was covered in pokadots and she had puppy ears on to match. Her hair was down curly, and she wore her converse.

Ashtray wore a black wife beater with red suspenders. He had jeans on and a firefighter helmet on.

They were a firefighter and a Dalmatian.

Leslie finished taking the pictures and pulled Sawyer into a hug.

"Be safe tonight and let me know when you find your sisters."

"I will mom." Sawyer looked up at her mother.

"I love you baby. Happy birthday." Leslie planted a kiss on sawyer's forehead before letting her go.

Sawyer turned to look at Ashtray. He quickly looked at Leslie.

"Thank you for letting me take her. I'll make sure she stays safe tonight." He took a breath.

"Thank you, Ashtray. That is very sweet of you." Leslie returned the smile.

Sawyer intertwined her fingers with Ashtrays and they made their way to his car.

      Sawyer and Ashtray walked into the party and the loud trap music, stench of alcohol and drugs quickly hit both of them.

Cassie was the first person to see Sawyer and pull her into a big hug.

"Happy birthdayyyyy!" Cassie was clearly intoxicated.

"Thank you cass." Sawyer giggled at her, "you're having fun I see."

"Not really, McKay is being like soooo annoying." Cassie sighed.

"Oh im sorry." Sawyer made a line with her lips.

"It's okay it's not you." Cassie shook her head and walked away near the dance area.

Sawyer shifted her attention to Ashtray who was on his phone.

"Let's take shots." She cheesed, darting her eyes at Ashtray and the kitchen.

Ashtray shook his head but gave in once Sawyer practically dragged him to the liquor table, quickly pouring them shots.

After they took a quite a few shots Ashtray looked down at Sawyer who couldn't even stand still.

"I have to go do some business with Fez, is there anyone I can take you to chill with for a minute?"

"Mmm." Sawyer was already feeling tipsy and didn't mind being alone, "No. but im good."

"Nah im not just gonna leave you." Ashtray disagreed.

"I said I'm fineeeee. Gooooo." Sawyer giggled.

Ashtray paused for a moment, taking a breath, "ok. Keep your phone on you I won't be too long."

Sawyer nodded her head. Ashtray stood looking down at her, still contemplating leaving her. He bent down a planted a kiss on sawyers forehead and she watched as Ashtray walked away.

Sawyer stayed at the liquor table helping herself to more shots.

Kat and Ethan were engaged in small talk but from the looks of it Kat needed an out so she used Sawyer.

"Birthday girl!" Kat shifted all of her attention towards Sawyer.

This attention was all of a sudden filling Sawyer with happiness.

"Kattttt" Sawyer beamed lazily tossing her body onto Kat.

"How's your seventeenth so far?" Kat questioned.

"It's been good. Ashtray took me out to Panera today and now im here." Sawyer explained.

"You and Ashtray." Kat smirked, "what's up with that?" She added.

"N-Nothingggg. Just good ol' pals." Sawyer started laughing.

"Mhmm. Pals." Kat nodded her head unconvinced.

"You and Ethan though?" Sawyer mouthed so only Kat could understand her.

Kat glanced at Ethan who was waiting for her then back to sawyer, "oh it's nothing." She paused for a moment, "should I fuck him?" She bluntly whispered.

Sawyer widened her eyes, "Um Yes! Why wouldn't you?!" she spoke in a duh tone.

Kat smirked nodded her head. She looked at Ethan, taking his hand and they left the kitchen.

Sawyer couldn't help but notice Brianna who was dressed as a cat side eyeing her.

Ironic cat and dog beef.

Sawyer ignored her though. She wasn't going to let her ruin her birthday. So she left the kitchen and made her way to the dance area.

Sawyer stood back to back with Cassie dancing.

Sawyer was feeling herself to the max. She was completely in her own world not paying attention to those around her.

Sawyer and Cassie were dancing all over each other enjoying themselves until Cassie got pulled away by Daniel.

Sawyer sighed and made her way back to the liquor table only to see Maddy and Nate.

It was kind of awkward. Sawyer heard what happened at the carnival and Maddy hadn't really spoken to her since. And now she was back with Nate.

Once Maddy noticed Sawyer she hopped off the counter and out of Nate grip quickly pulling Sawyer into her arms.

"Happy birthday bitch!" Maddy cheesed.

"Thank youuuu!" Sawyer smiled back.

"Come onnnn we need birthday shots." Maddy grabbed a bottle of Vodka off the counter, "are you ready?"

Sawyer widened her eyes a bit but shook her head yes. She opened up her mouth and leaned her head back, while Maddy poured the Vodka down her throat.

Sawyers mouth overflowed and some got on her neck but she drank most of it.

"Wow." Maddy said in awe. Maddy then took the bottle pouring some into her mouth.

Sawyers squinted at the horrible taste, shaking her head. She was breathing heavy and placed her hands on both knees catching her breath.

Sawyer stood up and noticed Maddy whispering something in Nate's ear.

At first it looked like he disagreed to whatever she had said but he snapped his head in Sawyers direction.

Nate came over and lifted Sawyer over his shoulder to wear she could sit comfortably. He was super tall and Sawyer was a bit scared.

"Everyone it's Sawyers birthday!" Maddy screamed getting most people's attention.

"Let's sing for her." Nate chimed in, only in an attempt to please Maddy and make everyone think things with him were back to normal.

Practically the whole entire party started singing happy birthday to Sawyer.

As she was up on Nates shoulder she looked around the room amazed at all the people that actually participated.

Sawyer didn't even try to hide her smiles she just enjoyed every second of it.

      Sawyer used the restroom and made her way back to where the main party was.

After her little birthday celebration everyone started giving her birthday shots. She was overwhelmed and had to step into the bathroom to collect herself.

As she was walking Ashtray appeared in front of her.

"You okay?" He asked. His eyes were low and red.

"Yes. Are you?" She replied. She couldn't stop smiling or stand still.

Ashtray simply nodded his head making a line with his lips.

Sawyer looked around awkwardly nodding her head too.

"Ready to leave?"

"Yeah."

         Ashtray put his hand out and Sawyer grabbed it. As they walked to the car Sawyer leaned her head on Ashtrays arm, hugging it.

Once they got in the car and all buckled up Sawyer looked down at Ashtrays phone, "Can I play a song?"

"Yeah go ahead." Ashtray was curious to see what she was feeling.

Much to his surprise she played Dance for you by beyonce.

Sawyer turned volume up high. She leaned her head back and put her legs up on the dashboard.

Ashtray drove with one hand and used his other to hold Sawyers.

Ashtray couldn't take his eyes off her. Every chance he got to admire Sawyer he did. She was just so beautiful. Especially now.

Sawyer was mouthing all the lyrics smiling hard not even noticing.

They stopped at a stop sign and saw Rue.

"Is that my sister." Sawyer moved her feet back to the floor and leaned forward to look.

"Yup." Ashtray honked and rolled his window down.

"Rue!" Sawyer shouted, getting her attention.

Rue hesitated but made her way over to Ashtrays side.

"Uhm.. hey guys." You could tell in her voice that she had been crying.

"Why are you all wet?" Sawyer frowned at her sister.

Rue just stood awkwardly.

"Wait where the hell is Gia?" Sawyer grew worried.

"Home."

"Oh okay." Sawyer nodded.

"Get in the car Rue." Ashtray couldn't help but feel bad for her.

He wasn't the biggest fan of Rue but he knew how much Fezco cared for her and how much Sawyer loved her.

Rue sighed and got into the back seat.

The rest of the car ride was quiet. Everyone just kept to themselves.

Once they arrived at home Leslie got up from the couch.

"Thank god, now I can go to sleep." She smiled.

"I hope you guys had fun tonight. lock the door when he leaves." Leslie looked between the two.

"I will. Love you." Sawyer softly replied, nodding.

"Love you too." Leslie made her way to her bedroom.

"Do you want anything to eat or anything to drink?" Sawyer walked into the kitchen.

"Oh yeah, a waters good." Ashtray said in a soothing tone.

"Okay." Sawyer shifted her attention to getting the two of them waters, not noticing Ashtray pull a little box out of his pocket.

"Here." Sawyer smiled, handing him a water bottle.

"Thank you." Ashtray smiled back, "here." He handed her the Pandora box.

Sawyer froze realizing what it was. She looked up at him in disbelief, "No." she gasped.

Sawyers smile was from ear to ear. He got her a charm bracelet that had quite a few charms on it.

"Ash you didn't have to. This must've been so expensive." Sawyer was still in shock.

"I did it because I wanted to. Don't worry about the money." Ashtray was happy to see her reaction.

Sawyer pulled Ashtray into a hug. Ashtray pulled her head towards his chest while stroking her curls. Sawyer could feel his heart beating steadily with hers.

"Thank you Ash. Seriously this means a lot to me." Sawyer pulled away, not breaking eye contact.

"Of course Lee. I'm glad you like it." Ashtray kissed her forehead, "I know we're just friends but seeing you happy makes me happy."

"Well you make me happy." Sawyer couldn't stop herself from smiling, "Help me put it on?"

Ashtray nodded and did as told.

"It's late though and I know your mom doesn't really want a boy over this late so I should go." Ashtray said with a controlled smile.

"Yeah, I understand." Sawyer agreed and led him back to the front door.

"Call me tomorrow okay?" Ashtray looked down into Sawyers eyes.

"I will. Be safe." She opened the door.

Ashtray kissed her forehead one more time before making his way to his car.

Sawyer locked the front door and went into her bedroom.

Just as she was about to change into comfy clothes she noticed pebbles being thrown at her window.

Sawyer frowned and quickly looked out her window only to see Brianna standing there. She opened up her window, sticking her head out.

"What the heck Brianna?"

"Saw.." Was all Brianna let out. She had mascara smeared all over her face and looked like she was distraught.

"Come in, come in." Sawyer moved out of the way so Brianna could climb in.

Once she got inside Sawyer closed her window and sat on her bed, staring at the girl in front of her.

"H-He cheated on me Sawyer. Right in my face and, and he didn't even care that I was there and all he does is treat me like shit and all I do is love him." Brianna cried out with a sad grimace.

Sawyers expression softened, "come here" she opened her arms.

Brianna kicked her shoes off and crawled into the bed laying in Sawyers arms, crying in her chest.

"I'm sorry, I know it hurts. I get it boys suck." Sawyer slowly rubbed her back, trying her best to comfort her.

"I just don't get why he would do this me. And how-" Brianna couldn't even finish her sentence due to how much she was crying.

"It's okay. I promise it gets better." Sawyer assured, "time and patience."

"I- I just need you Sawyer." Brianna glanced up at Sawyers face, "im so sorry for being such a shitty best friend. Everything you said was right and the truth is I was too jealous to admit it."

Sawyer frowned at the word jealous, "what do you mean jealous?"

"I- I hate how you're so authentically soft and naturally light hearted and actually have people genuinely like you. You don't even have to try either. Yeah you're sensitive and all but who isn't?"

"Oh.. It's okay Bri, it's okay." Sawyer nodded her head, still rubbing her back.

The two laid like this for hours just talking and mending their friendship, digging deep into all the deep rooted issues for the rest of the night.
